Situated in the middle of Wine Country, Sonoma County is by far the most convenient options and is just a 45-minute car ride from the coast.

The complex has its own private parking lot with snow removal. Walk a few steps one way to hiking trails in the National Forest, or the other way to the lifts at Snow Summit. Location is amazing. Of course there is wonderful skiing, snowboarding, and moutain biking opportunties ~ depending on the seaons. If you do not do these activities, a short walk to the end of the driveway takes you to the ski lodge - which is very cozy for a warm drink/ gathering of folks. For hikers (all seasons) at the top of the outdoor sidewalk/stairs behind our patio is where the hiking trail begins. Go right and you'll be in the village in about 15- 20 minutes. There are many activities for kids and families: To get to Alpine Magic Mountain -winter snow tubing down the hill - but you don't have to climb up. Is as follows: at the bottom of Thrush Drive, turn left on Big Bear Blvd. Stay on the Blvd for about 2.4miles and Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain is on the left just past the curve. You can also go the the FunPlex (lazer tag, video games etc...) which is about 1 1/2 miles once you turn left at the bottom of Thrush - it is also on the left. And there is Bowling as well. During the warmer months, there is a mini golf / rock climbing area: at the bottom of Tgo right on Big Bear Blvd for .7 miles. Cosmic Golf/ Hot shot miniature golf located at 42143 Big Bear Blvd is on the right just past Moonridge.

This packet includes information on the home and the local area, tips and tricks for Disneyland, where to buy discounted tickets, lists and maps of local restaurants and grocery stores, maps to Disneyland from the house and more. Waterproof, allergen proof and bed bug mattress protectors are on every bed and everything is thoroughly cleaned between each stay. (There is also regular bus service into the town of Monterey, and also down the coast to the Point Lobos Wildlife Reserve.) The house is a two-bedroom cottage, painted dark grey with white trim, across the street from the side of the La Playa Hotel. It has a gravel driveway big enough for one car. The La Playa Hotel was built in the 1920s and is on the National Register of Historic Hotels. The house is two and half blocks from the town beach, which is over half a mile long. At one end is a famous Frank Lloyd Wright house, built on a cliff; on the other end is Pebble Beach golf course. There are two more public beaches within five miles. The house is 900 square feet, with a deck that wraps around two sides. Half the roof is an upper deck with garden furniture, reached by an outdoor staircase. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, plus a new sofa bed in the living room. The house comfortably sleeps 6 adults. (Guests who have tried the queen-size sofa bed have given us good reviews.) We’ve restored the original oak floors from the 1940s in the house’s older section.
