This place is far enough from town so the lake isn't crowded, yet close enough in case you'd like to get cityfied. There are restaurants as well as grocery stores and a liquor, wine and cold beer store a short drive away. Fintry Provincial Park is quite the historical site. They have tours through both the original Manor House/Museum and the octagonal cow barn, that was ahead of it's time 100 years ago, which has been rebuilt. Yes, those cows were stylin' 100 years ago. From the barn there is a hike up to Shorts Creek Falls where The Laird of Fintry, James Cameron Dun-Waters, also created some of the first electricity in the Okanagan.For Fintry Delta. Sugarloaf Mountain, a couple of miles to the north, is also a nice hike, though a bit longer. Terrace Mountain, the highest peak in the Okanagan, is close by and an interesting drive to the top where you can see the whole Valley from Kelowna to Vernon. There is also a nice walk waiting right outside your door around the neighbourhood or pathways through the forest. There are Adirondak chairs and a picnic table, with an umbrella, on the large dock. On the beach is also a picnic table as well as benches around a nice fire pit with firewood close by. It is a nice quiet spot where you won't hear traffic but maybe the chirping of birds in the morning or maybe a loon chanting in the evening as well as this year's ducklings or goslings swimming with their new proud parents during the day. You may also see some deer on or around the property. If you're an early riser you could watch a sunrise across the lake coming up behind Silver Star Mountain, on the other side of Vernon. The sun is on the dock until early evening when it goes behind the mountains in the west when you can kick back, relax and review all the fun you had that day
