Where to Eat & Drink - BC has a dynamic food and drinks scene, with a huge variety of international influences and a strong focus on farm-to-table menus. Restaurants dish up everything from fresh salmon and sushi, to raw foods and tapas.

For drinks - red and white wine, sparkling and ice wines are produced in the Okanagan Valley, and several other regions have fledgling wine industries. BC’s craft beer industry is booming, with new micro- and nano-breweries opening up across the province on a regular basis. An increasingly inventive list of beers, with creative labels to match, includes seasonal brews such as pumpkin or peach ales.

How to Get Here & Getting Around - Vancouver Airport is the major international airport of the province, which is served by most major international airlines. If you’re traveling by car, there are a number of land border crossing from the US into BC from Washington State. There are also land border crossings into BC from Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. BC is also connected to Alberta and Yukon by a number of major highways.

Driving is the easiest way to see the province as BC has an excellent highway system that is well-maintained, map, and signed, plus plenty of scenic driving routes. There are also rental car companies that can be found in cities and towns. All cities have airports and most towns are serviced by bus or rail. The Greyhound and VIA Rail offer scheduled service to more than 200 locations in the province. BC Ferries serves almost 50 ports of call along the BC coastline.

When to Go - British Columbia welcomes most of its visitors between months of June through August. Fall and Spring are excellent times to visit because the tourist areas are less crowded. Although it rains in the coastal areas during the winter, it’s still a good time to visit BC, especially for skiing and snowboarding.

    "True" ski-in/ski-out home - You NEVER have to take a step in your ski boots. Our home is the closest house on the mountain to a ski trail. 3 beautiful, huge King beds, a double trundle that can convert to a King, a double and a futon that folds down to a twin. The front dining area, balcony and Master bedroom window seat all have panoramic views of the Columbia river valley and the Canadian Rockies. Heated wood and slate floors. Air hockey, table tennis and pool table await you down in the den. We have lots of board games, cards, puzzles and movies for your use. We are two avid skiers who bought our house for ski trips with family and friends and eventual retirement. We first skied at Kicking Horse in 2004 as part of our yearly ski trip with friends to the Canadian Rockies. Our day at Kicking Horse was the favorite of everyone on the trip. We couldn't believe how great the snow was, how big the mountain was and how few people there were. In 2009 we were looking to buy and we decided to come back to double check if everything we remembered about it was true. It was and we happened to stumble upon a great deal on this home and jumped at the opportunity. With any life changing event there is always a little voice that wonders if you are doing the right thing. That voice went away and never came back after we had to stop for a black wolf in the middle of the road between Banff and Golden. We knew this was the place for us.
