The Barn is a freshly renovated, traditional small Breton grange, dating back almost 300 years, and is ideal for a family holiday. It can sleep up to 6 people in three bedrooms (two doubles and one twin-bedded room). The property features ancient oak beamed ceilings throughout and the spacious 350 square foot living area enjoys a wonderful vaulted ceiling with feature exposed A-frames and original slate window sills. We've even managed to retain several original stone tethering rings. Both upstairs bedrooms also bright and airy and feature exposed A-frames. There is a large shower room on the ground floor and a separate downstairs WC. The fully equipped kitchen is open to the living area, which means that nobody feels shut away when preparing a meal.     This is a charming 15th Century stone house located in the heart of the village of Beynac, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The chateau at Beynac is on the top of a 500-foot cliff and the village houses are positioned below - providing privacy and spectacular views from one side of the house, and village life on the other. Extraordinary views of the magnificent Dordogne river and the Valley of the Five Chateaux present themselves from each of the four floors. The front door opens directly from the cobblestone streets - just steps from our private and unique parking grotte - into the main room of approximately 60 sq. Meters. Honey-colored stone walls, stone tile floor, ancient wooden beams, and a huge medieval fireplace set the tone for this main floor. A fully applianced kitchen with granite countered cooking area is built into one of the old fireplaces. Antique carpets and leather seating offers a comfortable area to relax, listen to the stereo or view English satellite television on the 48" flat panel television. The large dining table suitable for seating up to 6 diners is next to the window offering spectacular views of the river, the sunset, and the colorful Montgolfiers (hot air balloons) drifting by at dawn and sunset most days in season. Down the stone staircase is the Master Bedroom with an ensuite bathroom combining modern fixtures with stone walls. Nice is 1 hour and and 14 minutes by car. The local vineyards are superb with great quality wines. “We had a fantastic holiday in this spacious house with a magnificent swimming pool set in beautiful gardens in the hills above Les Arcs. The location is very peaceful and private. The swimming pool was the focus of our stay, the lack of chlorine was much appreciated and it has to be said that it was one of the best pools we have ever experienced. The pool is also toddler friendly because it has a gradual descent into the pool which gave our toddler the confidence to learn to swim. The house is tastefully decorated, clutter free, with modern furniture and mod cons. There is a functional kitchen with all the amenities we needed and an outdoor barbecue. The upstairs bedrooms have a shared balcony which gave us extra space and views of the surrounding area. As cyclists, we appreciated the use of the double garage for secure storage. We could descend down into les arcs for coffee and croissants at the excellent Le Tour cafe and return via traffic free roads through vineyards and leafy lanes. There is a local cycle path about 20 miles long, where the gradients were easy and gave panoramic views of the local vineyards. If you do this track, make sure you stop at the Station Rosalie (green caravan), west of Lorgues, serving the best bruschetta any of us had ever tasted. A trip to the Gorge De Verdon is spectacular and would make a great place to visit for either kayaking, cycling or walking. There is a big choice of local supermarkets, Boulangerie’s and a fruit and veg shop offering fantastic fruit and vegetables to die for, are within easy access by car or bike. The area seems to specialise in rose wine and the Chateau Saint Pierre is just south of Les Arcs selling great bottles for a good price. We had an incredible holiday and we can’t wait to go back! ”

    Our studio is a large light and airy apartment only minutes from the cathedral and main street of Bayeux. It is only 150 metres from the park in Place Charles de Gaulle and less than a five minute walk to Place St Patrice where the wonderful market is held every Saturday morning. The apartment is glass fronted with double doors leading to a large south-facing balcony which means it is great for eating outside or just relaxing with a glass of wine after a hard day's sightseeing. The apartment has a large living area with a two seater sofa and a club chair, coffee table, TV and free wifi. If it is not warm enough to eat outside there is a dining table and two chairs next to the kitchen area where you will find all you need to prepare a tasty meal from the local products you can buy just a few minutes walk away. There is a coffee maker, a kettle, a toaster, induction hob and electric hob and a combined oven/microwave, as well as a fridge with a small ice-making compartment. The studio is on the first floor of a small apartment block up an easy-rising staircase with security entrance. On the ground floor is a room where bikes can be stored. Outside there is plenty of free parking and a large Leclerc supermarket is just at the end of the street. Towels and bedding are provided although at the moment, due to Covid 19 we are asking guests to bring their own bedding and pillows. If this is not possible we can provide them at an additional cost of 15 euros, to cover professional cleaning charges. The apartment is well located to visit all the delights of Bayeux on foot. The cathedral (which can be seen from the balcony in the winter when the leaves fall) is only a five minute walk, as is the history and art museum and several restaurants and cafés. The tapestry is approximately 15 minutes on foot and the British War Cemetery and Battle of Normandy Museum are approximately 12 minutes away. Bayeux was not damaged during the war and you can spend much time walking the medieval streets and admiring the beautiful architecture of this small city. There is a large market on Saturday mornings in Place St Patrice and a smaller one on Wednesday mornings in Rue St Jean, ten minutes away. It will take only 12 minutes to drive to Omaha Beach or Arromanches on Gold Beach which is a lovely seaside town with an interesting WW2 museum in the centre of town and the circular cinema on the cliffs above. Caen is only 17 minutes by train or 25 minutes by car with it's large department stores, pleasure marina, the ruins of William the Conqueror's castle and the Abbaye aux Hommes, built by William the Conqueror and merciully not destroyed during the war.
