Bulgaria is a country in the Balkans on the western side of the Black Sea. It is surrounded by Romania to the north, Serbia to the northwest, the Republic of Macedonia to the southwest, Greece to the south, and Turkey to the southeast.

Some interesting local holidays include Baba Marta (Grandma Marta) on March 1. During this Bulgarian holiday people give each martenitsa, a type of white-red yarn, as a symbol of health. Ss. Cyril and Methodius Day on May 24. The day of St. Cyril (827-869) and St. Methodius (826-884) celebrating the two who created the Cyrillic alphabet. Bulgarian cuisine is a representative of the cuisine of south-eastern Europe with some Turkish and Greek influences, but it has some unique elements. Popular local dishes includes the most popular Bulgarian salad, the shopska salad, which is a mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, raw or roasted peppers. Traditionally it is dressed only with salt, sunflower or olive oil and vinaigrette. Another popular salad is the snow white salad, the shepherd salad and the lyutenitsa.

Founded in the 10th century, rebuilt in the 13th-14th century, a literary centre in the 15th century and completed in its present-day striking appearance during the 19thcentury. A spiritual centre of the Bulgarian people, it is located in the northwest part of the Rila Mountain, about 20 km from the town of Rila and about 120 km from Sofia.

All of the main places of interest are within walking distance. The neighbourhood is a very safe area. The big advantage of Smíchov is that you can easy reach all the tourist features, like Emauzy, Dancing Building, National Theatre, Kampa or Vysehrad, otherwise you have the possibility to see the green side of Prague, with numerous parks, that you can´t find in the city center. Details: Large luxury apartment, 90 square meters, in an ideal location (a few steps to the river Vltava, less than 5 minutes on foot to the metro station and shopping center Andel) on the top floor with an elevator, private sauna, whirlpool and air conditioning.
