Main cottage brand new in 2010, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, large bedrooms, breezy and cool on hot days. Windows from all sides, you feel like you are on a boat. Lovely trees, wildlife abounds: osprey, bald eagles, gray herons, beavers, otters, weasels, occasionally deer and fish of course. Island is low to water, easy access to/from water. Docks hold plenty of boats. Ideal for entertaining, lovely outside space, sundowners from muskoka chairs. We have most dinners outside on the large picnic table. In a very quiet part of the lake, yet only 5-7 min from the Stoney Lake action. Nearby Juniper Island boasts: tennis club (2 courts,) kids learn-to-sail program (CYA) recreational and racing sailing club (SLYC,) 100+ yr old Juniper Island Store for home-made breakfasts and lunches, scooped ice cream, freezies etc, penny candy, swimming lessons, paddling lessons, square dancing to the live fiddling with the Leahy's on Wed nights, Fri night movies, kid and family central. Fabulous 100 yr old maintained and preserved heritage buildings. It all must be seen and experienced to be believed. Weekends boast: local sailing races, competitive sailing regattas, adult square dancing, the art show in Aug, a music/talent night and much more. Or stay home and enjoy the privacy. Cottage is beautifully appointed, with piles of inside seating, art, stainglass windows. Swimming is deep off the rock on the north island with swim dock and ladder or take a dip before bed off the long dock on the main island. Paddling in the area is gorgeous, canoe provided. Parking on closeby on mainland. Only 2 hrs drive to Toronto, 20 minutes into town (Lakefield) for all amenities.

    Our cottage is located on Buckhorn Lake, in Kawartha, near Balsam & Stoney Lake and Lakefield Ontario. This cottage is a Luxury year round lake front COTTAGE, COUNTRY HOME, CAMP, CORPORATE RETREAT, TEAM BUILDING WEEKEND LOCATION, Ideal for extended families, or MULTI FAMILY gatherings, & corporate retreats for relaxation and team development. The cottage comfortably sleeps 14 people. There are four bedroom with King sized beds, and additional King sized day beds in the upper and lower screened porch as well as the family room. There is a bunk room with a twin double bunk and a full sized double bunk bed. We have neighbors close by, and quiet time on the lake must be respected from 11 pm to 8am. Treat this cottage as your own cozy and private B & B, making your own delicious breakfast to enjoy in a king sized bed, or joining the gang cooking up a storm in the large kitchen preparing family or team dinners, in this spacious and peaceful cottage. This is a fresh air experience, all the windows open, but we have air conditioning for hot days. The cottage is not officially barrier free, guests can be wheeled in on a ramp through the front and lower door, and a pathway can be used to accompany and guide wheelchairs & walkers towards the dock to avoid most of the stairs. This NEW, just completed Architects home has every convenience and is a hybrid of modern and rustic design. Winter skating is possible, at your own risk, in the small bay in front of the cottage. There is snow shoeing and hiking on the 40 acre property at the top of the cliff behind the cottage. There is a Hot tub with lake views. Summer warm water swimming can be as early as June 1st, off the generous dock. There are 2 kayaks and 2 stand up paddle boards available, with PFD's or lifejackets. Watch the parade of yachts and boats from the Dining Room, as they come and go through the Lovesick Locks 1 km away, or bring your own boat from Canada or the USA by sailing up the Trent - Severn Waterway system from the Great Lakes, through the locks to Buckhorn Lake. Houseboats are also welcome and are for rent nearby. The large modern open kitchen has room for lots of cooks, the dining table has an add on table to create seating for 14 for meals. There is a large living room that can easily seat 14, however if more chairs are needed, borrow chairs from the screened porch or deck. The living room is well designed for meetings, presentations, and fun family gatherings. There is a generous screen porch, with a pull out king bed, for bug free sleeping. The screened porch has lots of space for lounging by the wood stove, and dining at the large round table. There are open air decks, and spaces on the property for outdoor games and play. This Cottage is an easy 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Toronto, and is close to the Foodland grocery store in Lakefield, for 24 hour shopping. Bring your own boat for fishing and launch nearby at Springrock campground, or rent from Cottage Toys and other local suppliers. Enjoy the year round sunsets and sunrises, birds, fish and wildlife at this Cottage!

The cottage has large public areas (kitchen, dining and great rooms) which create a relaxing feeling and open onto a large deck overlooking the lake, with patio furniture and a barbecue. There are 4 bedrooms (3 doubles and 1 with large bunk beds) and 2.5 bathrooms. There is a basement boat room, which can also be used as a garage and storage area with a pool table.
