Klimt is a non-smoking apartment with the option of smoking on the balcony. If you want to get a better idea of the apartment scroll down to view the floor plan. Smetana is located in Klimentska Street. This street is named after Saint Kliment’s Church which used to be a parish church in the settlement of Porici. In the 13th under a Dominican order. Then in the 14th became a part of the Czechoslovakian Evangelical church. There used to be a road which lead from the ford of the Stvanice island to what we know as Dlouha Trida. Even though the houses along the road do not exist anymore, their former names are linked to the Vltava River, for century the church started looking more gothic and example “ Rybarsky dum” “The Fisherman’s House”. The island Stvanice used to be and still is an important part of Prague. Nowadays the island is used mostly for recreation and sport activities, but in the past it was where all the Prague’s executioners lived. Since their craft was thought of as unclean and sometimes unjust, they were forced to live outside of the city. Thanks to their profession, the executioners understood the human body very well and many Prague’s residents came for their advice. One time, an executioner saved a dying boy’s life. He stopped the evil prophecy and cured him. Please note that the apartment is located on the 4th floor without an elevator, which is compensated with a view of the Old Jewish Cemetery and the roof of the former ghetto. It is also an excellent starting point for exploring Prague. The apartment is literally a few steps away from Old Town Square and close to all the sights and cultural attractions. You can also enjoy spending an evening at one of the nearby restaurants or bars, which are all only a few minutes away. Right from the apartment window, there is a beautiful view of one of the most important preserved Jewish cemeteries in the world. Most Jewish cemeteries have been built outside of an inhabited area. Prague’s Old Jewish Cemetery is an exception, because it has become a part of the Jewish Quarter over the years. It is the youngest of three Prague Jewish cemeteries, but others do not exist anymore. According to historical data, there are 12 levels of graves underground and there are approximately 12,000 dead resting in the cemetery. Unfortunately, the cemetery had to withdraw from expanding because of Prague’s traffic in the area now known as 17.Listopadu Street. The oldest tombstone dates back to the first half of the 15th century, but most attention is given to the grave of Rabbi Low, where visitors may lay little stones with their wishes. During the time of Rabbi Low a plague broke out in the Jewish ghetto, only small children died because of it. The legend says that every night little children danced in the cemetery, they could not find peace until a mother who had murdered her baby was punished. Today, the cemetery has no children dancing at night, so you can have a good night sleep. Bright duplex in a calm street in the very heart of Old Town, just 4 minutes walk from Charles Bridge and even closer to Old Town Square .. KLARA is a spacious and luminous duplex in a heart of Prague Old Town, next to National Theatre, 4 minutes walk from Charles Bridge and 8 minutes walk from Old Town Square. It is situated in the calm street, under the roof of a historical building with wooden ceilings creating warm and welcoming atmosphere. KLARA has a well-equipped kitchen where you can find everything necessary (microwave, toaster, to prepare your breakfast or simple meals. For those who want to work or keep in touch with family or friends, high-speed wireless internet connection is also provided. KLARA is a non-smoking apartment. To have an idea about its disposition, we advise you to have a look at the floorplan of the apartment (according to our website, the floorplan is usually under the description or among the pictures). KLARA is able to accommodate up to 7 people and thus represents a wise choice for group of friends or several families who want to visit Prague, considering its central location. In few minutes, you can reach the best places for cultural enrichment or just spending a quality time out. Few centuries ago, the house used to be an Inn. In the courtyard, you can even see the pillars with rings where horses used to be attached. These days, this courtyard has become a agreedable terrace where is a pleasure to have a drink or lunch between friends - the restaurant is great and it is worth mentionning you are staying with us - you will have a discount. Karoliny Svetle street used to make part of a route connecting Vysehrad with the ford of Prague. Originally, its name was Svatostepanska - Saint Stephen street - named after the chuch of Saint Stephen which used to make part of walls of the castle constructed in XIII. Century. The only parts of these walls remaining conserved can be found at the courtyard of the police office at Bartolomejska street. At the corner of Konviktska street, you can spot the oldest of three rotundas of the city - rotunda of Svateho Krize Mensiho dated in the end of XI. Century. We say that its surroundings were haunted by a hairy monster with long hair chasing especially young girls of bad reputation, particulary those who were frequent visitos of the neighbor pub U Jezuru. The monster was waiting for these poor women in the dark nooks of the rotunda, then jumped on their back and choke monster surely wanted to punish them for their sins. In the past, it belonged to the main arterial road connecting Karlovo Square and the Old Town. Originally it was called Zvonarska “Bell Street” after the bell makers who were settled there. These bell factories disappeared in the late 19th century. The current street name has been employed since 1878, when the statue of Josef Jungmann, a prominent Czech revivalists, linguist, poet and translator, was erected at a nearby square. The famous Baroque sculptor Matthias Bernard Braun used to live at the corner of Jungmannova and Vodickova Street. He authored several statues on the Charles Bridge. The apartment is located between two main Prague squares – Charles and Wenceslav Square. Bright and spacious duplex in a calm street in the very heart of Old Town, just 4 minutes walk from Charles Bridge and even closer to Old Town Square . Very close to the LILI apartment, which can be practical for groups.. Violet is a spacious and luminous duplex (143m2) in a heart of Prague Old Town. It is situated in the calm street, under the roof of a historical building with wooden ceilings creating warm and welcoming atmosphere. Violet has a well-equipped kitchen where you can find everything necessary (microwave, toaster, to prepare your breakfast or simple meals. For those who want to work or keep in touch with family or friends, high-speed wireless internet connection is also provided. Violet is a non-smoking apartment. To have an idea about its disposition, we advise you to have a look at the floorplan of the apartment (according to our website, the floorplan is usually under the description or among the pictures). Violet is able to accommodate from 7 up to 10 people and thus represents a wise choice for group of friends or several families who want to visit Prague, considering its central location next to National Theatre and 10 minutes walk from Old Town Square. Kaprova Street, originally named Svatovalentinska Street, is one of the oldest streets in Prague and used to be connected to the Old Town Square. The street acquired its present name from the mayor of the Old Town, Pavel Kapr from Kaprstejna, in the second half of the 16th century. The Kaprova apartment is only a few steps away from one of Prague's most famous attractions, The Astronomical Clock, located in the Old Town Square. This unique astronomical clock was built in 1410 by a watchmaker called Mikolas of Kadan and an astronomer called Jan Ondreju. In the late 15th century the clock was perfected by Mistr Hanus z Ruze. At that time, the Prague councilors were very proud of their original landmark and feared that Mistr Hanus would build the same clock in a different city, therefore they ordered Hanus to be blinded. When Hanus learned who did this to him, he had his assistant bring him to the City Hall, where he, pulled the lever and damaged the machine forever. Allegedly it took ages before they found someone who could repair it. Meanwhile the silence of the clock reminded the councilors of their horrible deed. An interesting fact about the clock is that the only part which has nothing to do with time are the apostles, they are there for religious reasons. This way you will avoid arranging meeting times and looking for friends and family in a crowd of tourists. Vincent is located in Klimentska Street. Bright apartment in a historial building, great view, only 1 minute walk from Prague Castle. Located in a quiet district of central Prague. You will be able to walk to the best places for culture or parties. A prestigious and romantic location.. If you like romantic scenery, Loreta is the place for you. There is nothing more pleasant than a drink on the balcony after a tedious day of sightseeing with a beautiful view of Prague. The balcony is just above a nice garden, well- kept by occupants in the other apartments. You can also see a nearby park called Petrin, the largest “green” area in Prague. Since the apartment is located in a pedestrian area, one minute from the Prague Castle, the rattling of trams or the vexing traffic noises will not disturb you. Loreta is perfect for a hot summer day, thanks to the strong walls and a basement, typical for Prague's 18th century buildings. On the other hand in winter, Loreta will delight you with pleasant floor heating throughout the whole apartment. Due to the numerous restaurants and pubs nearby, you might not even notice the miniature kitchen which is unsuitable for preparing complex meals, but fully equipped for preparing breakfast or a quick snack. Loreta is ideal for 2-3 guests and the optimal price is calculated according to this. If you choose to stay here with a group of five people for example, you will save some money, but you might find the bathroom and kitchen, as well as the water heater insufficient. As all our other apartments, there is a high speed internet connection. Also the apartment is non-smoking with the option of smoking on the balconies. If you want a better idea of what the apartment looks like, scroll down to view the floor plan. Most of the houses, located in Loretanska Street, were built on a burnt-out area after a fire in 1742. The name of the apartment as well as the street it is on are named after a well-known baroque historical sight with unique chimes, donated by merchant Eberhard von Glauchau. Every hour Marian songs start to sound and on holidays religious music is performed by organ players. Loreta chapel is a copy of Santa Casa, the saint house in Italian Loreto that has been worshiped as a place of the Incarnation. Loreta and its surroundings are connected with many legends; unfortunately most of them are sad. One of the well-known ones is about a poor widow and her children. At the time of a plague all the widow’s children got sick and passed away one by one. Every time she buried one of them, she took her saved up coin and had the bells rang for the poor child. Eventually she became sick herself. When she died, the glockenspiel started to play a Marian song which we can hear today. Studio, across the river from National Theatre and 10 min walk from Charles Bridge, close to the Vltava river bank. Situated in Mala Strana, near the biggest park in central Prague.. Nova is a modern, affordable, well-furnished studio, perfect for one person or a couple. Since it is well-situated in the center of Prague, it is very easy to discover the beauties of the city. The apartment is located in the historical part called Mala Strana, which is very close to the Prague Castle or only 10 minutes from Charles Bridge. It takes under 30 minutes to get to most of Prague’s tourist attractions and the best restaurants and bars in the city. The apartment offers a comfortable pull-out sofa and a kitchen equipped with everything needed to make simple meals (coffee maker, microwave, toaster etc.)There is also a high speed internet connection available, convenient for work or just planning another Prague trip. Apartment Nova is on the third floor without an elevator and has a smaller bathroom than our other apartments, which makes it more affordable. It is also non-smoking, with the option of smoking on the balcony. The building itself is equipped with keyless code locks, which is practical for last minute reservations. For a better idea of what the apartment looks like scroll down for a view of the floor plan. The apartment building is located under the Petrin hill, near the river in the area called Mala Strana. It was built in 1895 by a well-known architect, who built it for himself, explaining the its good qualities. Petrin is undoubtedly the best place for those who like visiting tourist attractions as well as having a taste of nature at the same time. Just behind the building is the historical Hunger Wall, which apparently served to defend Prague. In 1361, the year of drought and poor harvests, the prices of bread increased severely, which left many people without enough food. In order to feed their families, the locals resorted to frequent theft, augmenting the criminal activity. King Charles IV therefore called upon the locals to build a protective wall from Petrin to the Vltava River. The construction took two years and fed many families, resolving the problem. The Prague people named the wall “The Hunger Wall”, because its battlements resembled the teeth of the starving folks building it. At the end of the street is Kinsky Square, known especially for the T34 tank, which commemorated the liberation of Prague by the Soviets in 1944. After the Velvet Revolution in 1989 an artist David Cerny painted it pink. Actually, it was not so much of a political gesture as an attempt to capture the attention of some girl. Later a fountain was built in the original location where the tank stood, but there still a little pink part of it on the square which constantly reminds us of our history. The apartment is also near the French Quarter, only a 5 minute walk from the French Lycee. For those who plan to stay in Prague for a bit longer, will appreciate the proximity to a nearby shopping center called Novy Smichov, which is only 2 tram stops away. The tram stop (tram line 6, 9, 12, 20, 22) is right in front of the building as well as a bus stop, line 176. PLUSES AND MINUSES: + Nova is located in the very center of Prague, only 10 minutes of walk from Charles Bridge + Keyless access to the building and to the apartment - you will only need a code to open the door + There is a washing machine and a dryer in the building which can be really convenient for longer stays + The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen + High-speed wifi provided + Many nice cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood - The apartment is situated on the 3rd floor without an elevator. The building is equipped with keyless lock codes, useful for booking at the last minute The apartment building is located under the Petrin hill, near the river in the area called Mala Strana. It was built in 1895 by a well-known architect, who built it for himself, explaining its good qualities. Petrin is undoubtedly the best place for those who like visiting tourist attractions as well as having a taste of nature at the same time. Just behind the building is the historical Hunger Wall, which has served to defend Prague. The building is also located only 4 minutes from the Old Town Square, in the heart of the historic center and is close enough for sightseeing by foot as well as visiting all of Prague’s interesting spots. Historic records of the street, where our apartment is located date back to the early 14th century. This street originally connected the Old Town Square with Porici and was the longest street in Prague - hence the name “Dlouha”, “Long Street”. Even though it only measures less than 400 meters, its name has not been changed. Dlouha Street has a lot of preserved historical buildings such as the Golden tree house, which is located just across the street from our apartment. Another house number 5 has captures the attention of visitors because of its interesting and mysterious stories. This house might seem insignificant but it is known as the house “U Smrti”, “At Death”. Rudolfinum can be an interesting choice for bigger groups since it is located in the same building as the Kaprova apartment. Kaprova is big enough for up to 5 people. Among other things, this apartment is a great location. It is situated literally around the corner from The Old Town Square, The Charles University buildings and a few moments away from the concert hall Rudolfinum. You are simply going to be in the middle of everything. All the important places linked to culture and entertainment are easily accessible by foot. Thanks to its strategic location, Rudolfinum is a practical choice for a few stops during the day, so that you can relax and gather your strengths for shopping, sight-seeing or just exploring Prague. In the evening, you can dine in one of the many restaurants nearby and then continue to some of the numerous bars and clubs which are all walking distance away from the apartment. Luckily, any of our clients haven’t meet him yet :) EXCEPTIONAL CONDITIONS: This apartment is exceptionally large and expensively furnished, so there are exceptional conditions: 1. There are also some of the best restaurants and bars in Prague only a few minutes walking distance away. Liliova Street is one of the oldest streets in Prague. The back wall of the former monastery and the Saint Anna Church from the 14th century can be found there. Originally there was a Saint Vavrinec’s rotunda from the 12th century which was later destroyed and replaced by a commendam. After the end of the monastic order, the courtyard was bought by the knights of Saint John and a year later it was bought by Dominicans from the Saint Anna’s monastery. The temple has gothic elements and monumental compositions on the walls as well as being the place of burial of Vaclav Hajek z Libocan, the author of the Czech Chronicle. Liliova Street is thought to be linked with a headless templar who can be seen on a white horse. Apparently, he fell in love with a beautiful girl who walked past the church wall every day. Before he could decide if he should priorities God or run away with his love, the girl matured and married somebody else. The templar went crazy and was beheaded for his mad behavior. The only way you can free him is to stop the horse and stab the rider with a sword. During the occupation the street was renamed “Wettenglova” after a burgher family who lived in Prague in the 16th and 17th century. From the 1945 the street took on its previous name. On your way to metro Florenc, you can notice Saint Peter’s Church. This church was built in the 12th century as a roman bazilika, but as the years went on it was renovated in a gothic style. It has been said that there was a rich greedy civilian man buried in the cemetery, who ignored his relatives on purpose so he would not have to share his wealth with them, he even slept in a cheap coffin instead of a bed. After his death his relatives searched for his belongings but never found anything. One day a poor parish clerk saw a gold light near the grave. Luckily, any of our clients haven’t meet him yet :) Apartment use and noise: you commit to take care of the apartment and respect neighbours, particularly by respecting the interdiction of making noise between 22:00 (10 and 7 A.M.
