Travis Heights is a historic Austin Neighborhood in south downtown. The main attraction of this neighborhood is the proximity to South Congress Avenue. South Congress Avenue is an easy four block stroll away or you can walk two blocks to East Riverside Drive; either way, you have access to all the best restaurants, bars and shopping that Austin has to offer. Watch a game on the patio at Doc's, grab a bite at one of the many great restaurants (we recommend Perla's), and then wind down with a nightcap at the Continental Club without ever moving your car. To get to downtown Austin is just as easy: call Uber, a cab, or hop in your car; either way you are just a short three minute drive/ride away. From the exterior your will get a unique cottage feel but then when you step in the front door you will be astounded by all our modern amenities. Our open living area connects with the dining room and comes complete with a flat screen TV, TiVo cable, and WiFi. We have a screened in porch next to the living room which is our favorite spot to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the golfers across the street at Hancock Golf Course. Our wonderful kitchen has a fun modern style with a classic twist, with black and white checkered floors and colorful accents. We have all new stainless steel appliances and the kitchen comes fully equipped for a family style meal. Two of our bedrooms are on the first floor, the first comes with a cozy queen bed and direct access to the screened in porch. The second bedroom has two twin beds and overlooks the backyard. The downstairs full bathroom is located between both the bedrooms and has an industrial style. Upstairs is our loft space with its own living space and bedroom nook and full sized bed. This area has a second bathroom with jetted bathtub, this bathroom does not have a shower but it is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the Jacuzzi tub. Our amazing private backyard is a fun spot to entertain friends and family with plenty of seating and gas BBQ grill. We truly love our time at this uniquely Austin home and we know you will too. Hyde Park is just minutes from campus, the area is far enough from the madness to have ample parking for vehicles. Hyde Park prides itself on being genuinely Austin. Every winter, the residents deck out their homes in outrageous amounts of Christmas lights. People from all over the city tour the neighborhood’s streets in hopes of catching a glimpse of the jaw-dropping display. Shipe Park, right in the heart of Hyde Park, is a popular hangout for locals. It has a small swimming pool, playground, basketball court, and large, open grassy areas. Hancock Golf Course, a public nine-hole golf course, also sits in Hyde Park. It was created in 1899, making it Texas' oldest golf course. Quack's Bakery is a popular spot for coffee, sandwiches, and desserts. Just off the second living room is a 2nd floor balcony with a gorgeous view of the pool and the trees beyond.     Our serene 2BR/2BA home on Lake Travis has sensational views of the lake with a luxurious hot tub overlooking the majestic hill country. We are located in the beautiful Spicewood, Texas surrounded by local wineries, golf courses, and springs. Enjoy all the comforts of home at our 2BR/2BA retreat by the lake. Our home is perfect for any group whether on a family vacation, romantic getaway, or traveling with friends. It is kid friendly and great for small families. Vast, picture windows bring the stunning natural landscape inside and elegant, classic furnishings lend hill country charm to this sprawling home. Located just 35 miles outside of Austin in a quiet gated community, this home offers you the chance to stay close to city life while enjoying country-style charm. INSIDE THE HOUSE The main floor of our house is comfortable and spacious with a shared living, dining and kitchen area. Gather round at night to catch movies on a flat screen TV with DirectTV while unwinding on cozy chairs and a queen sleeper sofa, which opens up for extra guests. The main living area has large picture windows, allowing for plenty of natural light and amazing lake views. Our fully-equipped kitchen comes complete with wraparound counter space, new appliances including coffee maker (not Keurig), and all the gear you will need to cook a family style meal. The upstairs has two bedrooms both with two queen beds with luxury bedding. Two full bathrooms have stand up showers and ample space for getting ready. Our favorite part of the home is the spacious deck area complete with patio furniture, grill and hot tub. It’s the perfect spot to relax with family and friends while enjoying the sweeping views. OUR LOCATION Our two-story lake house is located in the gated community of Windermere Oaks in Spicewood, Texas (approximately 35 miles northwest of Austin). Just a 45-minute drive to Fredericksburg and Luckenbach, the lake house is also convenient to area wineries such as Spicewood Vineyards and Stonehouse Winery. Our gated community comes with tons of great perks. We have a community pool, which is only shared by six houses. We also have direct access to the water for outdoor fun. Also don’t miss a chance to adventure down to Krause Springs, 10 minutes away, which has some of the most beautiful fresh water swimming areas in the Austin and surrounding areas. Poodies Road House is a great place to go catch some live Texas music and grab a bite to eat just 10 miles from home (don’t miss the Famous Poodie Burger). At our lakeview retreat, you’re just 40 minutes from downtown, 15 from the Hill Country Galleria and close to quite a few of the local wineries. Welcome to Spicewood, Texas- one of the hill country’s greatest finds.
