    The house belongs to our family since it was builded in later 1700’s. I’ve inherited this cottage from my grandmother in 1999 . I left Crete in 2001 and came to England to become mother and student and the house was left untouched for so long . Last year I was desperate to sale it for making some money that was much needed. However a short trip to Crete and visit to the house again had made their magic and it was my son that convinced me to just try and renovate as much as I can. Indeed the renovation started late September and it finished late April. It has been a very rocky path with tears and sleepless nights. Because I was here in England and not there. However my cousins were there and I’m grateful that they’ve helped me endlessly. Also the technology worked out to be useful so live messages and video calls with my workmen was daily routine . In the end the house came up to be exactly as I deemed it And for that I’m greategulmand happy now I hope people will be able to enjoy the warmth and the great feeling this house emits in every corner at any time of the year.

The sandy beaches are located in Cavtat, while known Konavle rocks beach are 1.5 km south of the villa. Konavle rocks beach like local people and all who want to avoid the crowds and noise. Along Konavle rocks extends the pine tree forest with hiking trails with beautiful views to the open sea. Center of the Cilipi is 1 km away, and in the center are restroran, pizzeria, coffee shop, post office, ATM and museum. Every Sunday in the center of Cilipi is a folklore performances for tourists. In Cavtat, which is located on the coast there are numerous restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, museums, hotels and the beautiful seaside promenade. Konavle has opened a number of rural households with traditional food and ambiance. Also, the activities that are suitable for this area are mountain biking and horseback riding and the safari ride with a track which is long 11 km. Villa is bathed in sunshine the whole day from sunrise to sunset, while the evenings are peaceful, pleasant, not too hot as there is almost always at night a light breeze of air. Cilipi, a place next to Cavtat and Gruda, is the biggest settlement in Konavle and surely the best place to meet the traditions of Konavle. The stairs, slightly descending from the church to the plateau of the square, became an ideal stage for numerous visitors of folklore events that have been organised in Cilipi each Sunday from Easter to the end of October for over three decades. Tucked away on the sleepy hillside of Castiglion Fiorentino and where guests can make this their "home from home" - The property welcomed its first guests in May 2016, - The villa is set within an olive grove where the visible ruins of an ancient defence castle of Castiglion Fiorentino can be explored and enjoyed. Adjacent to the larger villa is a (deconsecrated) church from the 12th century which has also being restored. The Villa and its annex provide three bedrooms, three bathrooms, modern kitchens, 2 sitting rooms, a vast terrace with some of the loveliest views of the valley and the town of Castiglion along with the private Infinity Edge pool - strategically situated to enjoy the fabulous views. It is about 3 km from the town, where there are many restaurants, bars and shops and, there is also small shop,bar and restaurant just across the valley if you did not want to travel into the town, Much like the other villas here, this is also a good location - an excellent base to explore Tuscany its many hill towns, festivals, wineries and countryside including easy easy day trips to Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano, Siena etc - Florence is also easy by either car (1 hour) or by train from our local station. This is one of our first reviews from May 2016. A first review says: “The houses are surrounded by a beautiful old olive grove. There are two terraces overlooking the valley and a very nice infinity swimming pool. The view is breathtaking. I have been in this valley before but the view here beats everything. There is a small terrace in the back to catch the early morning sun. The large (Giant) terraces in the front catch the sun from 10 am to sunset. For people like me who love to read in the shade : plenty of shade available under the surrounding trees. The olive groves around the houses are actually grassy meadows, ideal for children's play. In the woods on top of the hill behind the house lie the remains of a 13 th century castle. You have to drive up a drivable access road from the valley floor to reach this house. The next and only other house is 100 m down. The road continues up the hill for another 1.6 km, winding through beautiful olive groves and forests, offering breathtaking views. Then then for easy hiking, road changes into a hiking trail that joins the hiking trail that circumvent the valley. We were the first occupants in a newly developed property. We were two couples and stayed a week in May 2016. The property consist of two houses. The smaller one , just a few meters away, has one bedroom, with a king size bed, bathroom and a living space with kitchen. The entire property has an unobstructed sea view as it is literally located on the beach . The sea is just outside the door (3 meters) from the house. The beach is with pebbles but with the most clean water as the area is declared a natura with very few houses around. You can enjoy beautiful sunsets and the idilic view of the sea in the morning with the fishing boats dashing out for the day's catch. Enjoy your evenings in candle lights on the veranda listening to the smooth sound of the sea. The village is 5-10 minutes walk where there is a mini Market where you can get all the Essentials, two bakeries, a pizzaria, a cafeteria and several tavernas. 5-7 minutes by car is the nearest touristic area with lots of pubs, bars, restaurants, supermarkets etc and lovely sandy beaches.
