It has been beautifully converted into a luxury, 4 bedroom villa with a pool, gardens and private access to the river for swimming, fishing and bird watching.. Just 15 minutes east of the UNESCO World Heritage site of Saint-Émilion, you are surrounded by some of the greatest wine-makers in the world. Le Priolet is a tranquil escape, and the perfect home-base from which to explore the Bordeaux region. You will spend many hours with your coffee/tea or a glass of wine, watching the river drift by. And when the weather is warm, we eat outside every meal. The villa has 4 large bedrooms. The master bedroom is upstairs with a king size bed and ensuite bathroom. • Wonderful Restored 18th

    Montcuq: Farmhouse
    4 BDR • 2 BA • Sleeps 8 • #225612
    79 to 264 USD/night
'We had a brilliant time!' Our beaming visitors say Béral is the perfect getaway for adults and for kids. The traditional 18th-century farmhouse in white Quercy stone is matched by the splendour of its private pool, large terrace with ping-pong & barbeque, orchard and exquisite setting. All has been sensitively restored to be characterful but with modern conveniences. The property is set into the side of a hill, with everything facing south; the terrace, pool and gardens are spread out to give wonderful views over the fields of sunflowers. Inside, the farmhouse has a large main living room, with stone and whitewashed walls, a traditional corner kitchen and a beamed open fireplace. To either side are delightful bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with a king and a cot if needed. All the rooms have views over the valley. The upstairs bathroom has a hipbath with a shower, and a toilet. Downstairs are two more bedrooms - both with antique floor tiles and two single beds - and a second bathroom. The house has been tastefully restored to retain all its ancient character, but with modern facilities throughout. The house is particularly well laid out for a single family or two families together. But the upper floor is also fantastic for a couple traveling alone. There are too many attractions in the area to suggest more than a few. Among the distinctive villages, Lascabanes has beautiful flowers and a lovely church; Lauzerte, high on a hill, a carefully restored bastide with a remarkable town square and good festivals; Saint-Cirq Lapopie, a 45-minute drive up the Lot, is the most famous village of the area, a medieval town in a spectacular cliffside setting hanging over the river - good restaurants too; Montpezat-de-Quercy has a beautiful arcaded square, and half-timbered houses. Rocamadour is not far away. Figeac is well worth a visit, with its museum to Champollion, who cracked the code of the Rosetta Stone. With the porous limestone prevalent on the causse, there are important caves in the area. The most famous is the huge underground village of Peche Merle, with its prehistoric paintings and traces of early man (up the Célé river from Cahors). The most well-known museums in the area include the Toulouse Lautrec museum in Albi (which also has a wonderful red-brick cathedral), the Musée des Beaux Arts in Agen, and the Musée d'Ingres in Montaubon. There are many other types of museum covering every aspect of Quercy life. Among the cathedrals and abbeys, apart from Albi, you might consider driving to the wonderful abbey at Moissac, which also has a stunning set of well-preserved cloisters. 'I thought I would drop you a line to let you know what a wonderful time my family and I had at Béral. You are truly lucky to own such a beautiful house set in picturesque countryside. We all felt that the improvements you had made complimented the house and were in keeping with its origins. We all felt so relaxed and extremely sad when our week came to an end - no-one wanted to leave. Many, many thanks for letting us experience Béral.' 'We had a brilliant time while we were at Béral. It was the first time we have visited this area and were bowled over. The house was a perfect place to put your feet up and catch up with your reading.... Carol loved the Sunday market at Montcuq. Most of all the boys enjoyed jumping in and out of the pool!'

    114 to 357 EUR/night
Hackamore house is a recent and modern construction in a Louisiane style, surrounded by trees with a fantastic view on the Gironde estuary. The swimming pool is only available in the Summer. It's a peaceful place very closed to the small village of Plassac and not very far from Blaye where you can find a local market twice a week , a large supermaket and some restaurants. Some suggestions to enjoy your stay : 1/ Discover the vineyards of Bordeaux : In a radius of 80 KM from home you can visit the most wellknown Chateaux of the vineyard of Medoc, St Emilion, Pomerol, and Sauterne. But don't forget you are just in the middle of the vinyard of Côtes DE Blaye and Côtes DE Bourg where you can also visit 2/ Visit Bordeaux listed a UNESCO World Heritage Site ! It is a recognition of our city's value and historic unity. Bordeaux has more than 350 classified buildings and buildings listed as Historic Monuments, including 3 religious World Heritage buildings since 1998 as part of the Routes of Santiago DE Compostela in France. 3/Cross the Gironde Europe’s largest estuary With a surface area of 600 KM² and a width of 3 to 12 KM, the Gironde Estuary is the largest in Europe and the best protected. Take the ferry boat in Blaye (crossings about 30 minutes long) and visit the vineyard of Medoc or drive to the Atlantic beaches (60 KM West). 4/ Enjoy the sea and the Great Dune of Pilat at the entrance to the Arcachon Basin(120 KM South West) Rising 107 metres above sea level, it is the highest dune in Europe, “one of nature’s masterpieces”, “jewel of the Basin”, “majestic” – there is certainly no lack of superlatives regarding the Great Dune of Pilat 5/ Drive to Dordogne and Perigord (150 KM East): Home first to prehistoric man and later to the Gauls, Romans and Franks, each of whom left the stamp of their respective civilisations. The Dordogne banks are a thousand and one castles steeped in legend, witness to centuries of conquests and the intermixing of cultures 6/ Stay in the Plassac area and discover the surroundings : - Antique Italy in Plassac (5 minutes walk) - The citadel of Blaye XVII Century (3 KM from home) - The cave of Pair-non-Pair : (15 minutes by car) 7/ At least, if you have enough time, you can drive to Côte Basque (200km) and visit Biarritz

Nice is 1 hour and and 14 minutes by car. The local vineyards are superb with great quality wines. “We had a fantastic holiday in this spacious house with a magnificent swimming pool set in beautiful gardens in the hills above Les Arcs. The location is very peaceful and private. The swimming pool was the focus of our stay, the lack of chlorine was much appreciated and it has to be said that it was one of the best pools we have ever experienced. The pool is also toddler friendly because it has a gradual descent into the pool which gave our toddler the confidence to learn to swim. The house is tastefully decorated, clutter free, with modern furniture and mod cons. There is a functional kitchen with all the amenities we needed and an outdoor barbecue. The upstairs bedrooms have a shared balcony which gave us extra space and views of the surrounding area. As cyclists, we appreciated the use of the double garage for secure storage. We could descend down into les arcs for coffee and croissants at the excellent Le Tour cafe and return via traffic free roads through vineyards and leafy lanes. There is a local cycle path about 20 miles long, where the gradients were easy and gave panoramic views of the local vineyards. If you do this track, make sure you stop at the Station Rosalie (green caravan), west of Lorgues, serving the best bruschetta any of us had ever tasted. A trip to the Gorge De Verdon is spectacular and would make a great place to visit for either kayaking, cycling or walking. There is a big choice of local supermarkets, Boulangerie’s and a fruit and veg shop offering fantastic fruit and vegetables to die for, are within easy access by car or bike. The area seems to specialise in rose wine and the Chateau Saint Pierre is just south of Les Arcs selling great bottles for a good price. We had an incredible holiday and we can’t wait to go back! ”

The area seems to specialise in rose wine and the Chateau Saint Pierre is just south of Les Arcs selling great bottles for a good price. We had an incredible holiday and we can’t wait to go back! ”

REVIEWS ********************************************************************************************************* An absolutely charming, storybook home. Fairytale outside, air conditioning and Wi-Fi inside. 5/5 Stayed Jun 2018 Bridget D. USA We had a wonderful visit. Martine was absolutely lovely; fun, kind and patient with our poor French language skills. She even made us a dinner reservation on our first night there. The house is charming, and it was wonderful to sit on the patio and watch village life go by. Thank you Vincent and Martine. Small piece of paradise 5/5 Stayed Jun 2018 Louis K. South Africa We had the most warming welcome from Martine and felt really at home . La Petite Maison is equipped to a tee, beautiful furniture, and a patio to die for. We had many a late dinner out on this little patio. The house is ideally situated in Beynac so that you can explored all the beautiful surrounding villages with ease. Wonderful forests to hike in. La Petite Maison is absolutely perfect :o) 5/5 Stayed Mar 2018 Rich M. USA We stayed at this charming little cottage for 2 weeks. It is the perfect location for exploring the Dordogne region and for other day trips. The property is absolutely breathtaking and is like living in a fairytale. It is exactly what you see in the pictures....Only better!! You will be impressed from the time you arrange this accommodation with the owner, are met and given the keys (super cool keys) and are greeted by the wonderful housekeeper. The owners suggestions for weekly markets, hiking, gardens and cave art were brilliant. Of all the villages we visited we were always so excited to get back home to La Petite Maison and Beynac. We would go back in a heartbeat!! It couldn't possibly be any better. 5/5 Stayed Dec 2017 Judith N. USA Staying here is like staying in a dream. Everything you need is here and the cottage and the town are charming and welcoming. We loved shopping for ingredients for our Christmas dinner at the little local shops at the bottom of the hill. Add some pate from a local farm and it is an unforgettable experience in an unforgettable place. Even in December many places were open and everyone was so patient with our attempts to speak French. Merci, Vincent, for sharing your treasure with us.
