Home vacation rentals are offered in Honoka’a, The Big Island, Hawaii. Honoka’a is located on the Hamakua Coast, forty miles North of Hilo. Holiday lodging can be rented directly from owners of Hawaiian villas, homes and condo accommodations in Honokaa.

Honoka'a is also the gateway to the chain of valleys to the North, including the regal Waipio Valley, and the rolling slopes of Mauna Kea. From your accommodation, visit the Ride the Rim, Hawaiian Walkways and do Waipi’o on Horseback, the three most popular things to do in this area.

Honoka'a's economy was based on the sugar and macadamia nuts production until the Hāmākua Sugar Company has closed in 1994. Honoka'a was the recreational and commercial center for the plantation workers, ranchers, soldiers, farmers, and the native Hawaiians along the beautiful and rugged Hāmākua Coast. It is now a quiet and beautiful part of Hawaii Island and is a perfect vacation spot with lodging in accommodation such as condo rentals and private home vacation rentals.

Honoka'a People's Theater, on the Main Street in Honoka’a, is the largest theatre on Hawaii Island, with 525 seating capacity and a large 50 foot screen. Honoka'a People's Theater has also made its appearance in the book called " Honoka'a Boy" which was made into a movie in 2009.

For a break from cooking in your vacation rental or condo rental, there are a number of restaurants offering Honoka'a's famous Malasada, an egg-sized donut filled with flavored cream or other fillings; Saimin, a noodle soup unique to Hawai'i, and Mahi Burgers.
