Jonestown Accommodations

The City of Jonestown earned the moniker the "Gateway to the Hill Country" for its country lifestyle whilst conveniently situated near Austin City. It is located in the northern Travis County, Texas, right at the north end of Lake Travis. Jonestown is approximately 20 miles northwest of Austin, and nine miles west of the intersection of U.S. 183 and FM 1431. There are a few things to note when booking your perfect Jonestown vacation home.

Austin limits occupancy of vacation rentals to six unrelated adults. Condo rentals are expectedly cheaper than vacation rentals, with the latter having more rooms and space compared to the former.

Home rentals available in Jonestown include vacation villas and condos in The Hollows Resort. The Hollows is a gated community complete with swimming pools, whirlpools, volleyball and picnic areas, planned activities, swimming, beach entry to the lake, event centers and hiking trails.

Relax by your condo rental’s balcony and enjoy the scenic lake and hill country views after having a fun-full day of recreational activities at Lake Travis. Enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, scuba diving, picnicking, camping, zip lining, kite-flying, biking, hiking and more. There is also a place for nude sunbathing in the Hippie Hollow Park.

It is partly cloudy year round in Jonestown, with the summers hot and muggy and the winters short, cold, and windy. The best time of the year to visit Jonestown for outdoor activities is from late May to late September. Consider visiting during the Jonestown Cajun Festival or the Swift Fest. Cajun Festival is a family-friendly festival held every spring in Jones Brothers Park. Swift Fest is an appreciation of hundreds of chimney swifts arriving in Jonestown in mid-March and staying through the end of September. The birds consume mass quantities of insects in the area.

While in Jonestown, don’t forget to visit the historic town of Marble Falls and explore antique shops, famous diners, and some local Texas wineries. Some of the key attractions you must not miss include the Hollows Beach Club, Austin Steam Train Cedar Park Events Center for Hockey and Basketball Texas Wine Trails.
