The home was owned by an LA graphic designer, known for her logos and designs, and left it to her family for their pleasure - now they want to share it. Talk about a getaway in LA. This rental home is a great retreat for business travelers to come back to after a busy day in the city. If you are looking for a cozy, an inspiring or a romantic escape away from it all, you've found the right place. The house accommodates one or two adults and is ideal for those who want to be in a relaxing and inspiring environment, yet be close to shopping, top restaurants and clubs, and all of the activity LA has to offer. This 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, vintage canyon home in Laurel Canyon is small but big on personality. Built on a hillside in 1923, it hasn't changed much from when the former artist lived in the house. She lived in the house for over fifty years and was very much ahead of her time. She decorated it with furnishings by some new exciting designers during her time. Today, we call the style “mid-century modern” and many of the furnishings are originals from the 50s and 60s. The family has not only kept her style and furnishings intact as much as possible but also her original colors - which are vibrant. The only major renovation that has been done to the house is a recent bathroom remodel. Step outside to a private and relaxing patio and gaze out over two lovely terraces to enjoy a canyon view. You can literally be in every major part of town within minutes - which makes this location great for tourists or corporate travelers. The living area of this vacation apartment has a modern design similar to many current trendy hotels. But don’t worry, the owners didn’t skimp on the furniture. The sofa you’ll be sitting on to watch the big 46” Flat Screen TV was custom made for this particular vacation rental. The fabric is made of soft Microfiber Suede and the couch is stuffed with medium to firm stuffing to ensure anyone would be comfortable on this sofa. You’ll love relaxing and watching TV or surfing the web with the rental’s free Wi-Fi service. You might even want to indulge in playing the Xbox. We have games for free but don’t forget to bring your favorites. The dining area which resides between the living area and the kitchen area can seat four people. However, we do not mind providing additional fold out chairs should you need extra seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with basic furnishings for you to cook and eat. There is plenty of counter space even with our full-sized refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave in the area. Our central heating and air provides comfortable temperatures year-round.
