This beach is named for the numerous pebbles (ili'ili) found nearby. In ancient times these stones had many uses as fish sinkers, game pieces, and musical instruments. Today this beach is a popular site for surfers. There is good swimming during the summer months when the surf is calm. The sandy beach is large at this time but erodes away during the winter. Swimmers need to be wary of a sudden drop off of the coral reef into deep water. High surf and strong currents often present during the fall and winter months. Monitor ocean conditions closely at all times. Watch out for boat traffic from the nearby jetty.

Maili Beach has areas where the snorkeling is good. Check with locals for the best places to enter the water.

Maili Beach Park on the Waianae coast is a long beach with large lawns (good for Frisbee and other park activities). The beach is not crowded during weekdays. Boogie boarding close to rocks for experienced riders. The Waianae coast is separated by the Wai'anae range from the rest of the Oahu. The pretty cliffs and valleys make for fantastic hiking. There are few tourists here which may be the attraction to this lovely area.

    This was our home in the 70's and is now our vacation home. We are only looking to share this completely remodeled unit with a few select clients so that it stays fresh for our use. You cannot get any closer to a beautiful, sandy, secluded, protected beach. We have furnished our unit for our use not as a rental. This is truly "Old Hawaii" but you can return to the excitement of Waikiki in less than an hour by a scenic drive along the beach and through the tunnels to the "city" side. Stay in "the country" for a Hawaiian vacation that you will never forget. Life is slower here. Feel the ALOHA!!! The exercise room is very limited, but it is on the ground level and looks out onto the beach. The sauna is also located on ground floor in exercise room.
