Please note, leather sofa is ideal for a small child as it does NOT fold out into a bed. There are 2 extra pillows and duvet should small child need to sleep on the leather sofa. Just a two block walk to bustling and trendy Ventura Boulevard where you will find a myriad of restaurants, coffee shops, bars, boutiques and markets. CBS Studios is a short walk away and Paramount, Warner Brothers, and Disney just a short drive away. Universal Studios is a 5 minute drive away. You will love staying here because of the privacy and safety of the unit. There is a larger double story house in the front of the property overlooking the street and the 1 bedroom cottage is in the back with its own private entrance. Wake up in the morning to gorgeous weather and sip your morning coffee on the patio while you check your emails or read the paper in the peaceful surroundings. There are two cats that live in our main house and do room the property. We make sure they are NOT allowed in the cottage. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING BIG AND SPACIOUS this is NOT the place. The cottage is a small studio with a large wrap around deck. There is a kitchenette in the cottage as well as a Jacuzzi tub for two people.

It’s the site of one of the original California missions (beautifully restored today). You don’t need a car—you can shop for groceries, go to the drugstore, post office, stop at a cafe or restaurant, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. (There is also regular bus service into the town of Monterey, and also down the coast to the Point Lobos Wildlife Reserve.) The house is a two-bedroom cottage, painted dark grey with white trim, across the street from the side of the La Playa Hotel. It has a gravel driveway big enough for one car. The La Playa Hotel was built in the 1920s and is on the National Register of Historic Hotels. The house is two and half blocks from the town beach, which is over half a mile long. At one end is a famous Frank Lloyd Wright house, built on a cliff; on the other end is Pebble Beach golf course. There are two more public beaches within five miles. The house is 900 square feet, with a deck that wraps around two sides. Half the roof is an upper deck with garden furniture, reached by an outdoor staircase. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, plus a new sofa bed in the living room. The house comfortably sleeps 6 adults. (Guests who have tried the queen-size sofa bed have given us good reviews.) We’ve restored the original oak floors from the 1940s in the house’s older section.

Outside, the entire pool deck has been refinished, and a natural gas BBQ, along with a large patio table and 6 chairs, one chair & ottoman, and 2 cushioned lounges with side table, are available for poolside entertaining. There also are 4 adjustable lounges that are great for sun bathing, or enjoying the LED lighting at night. Poolside, there is a fire pit to enjoy those desert evenings. This area is also visible from the master bedroom, through the large window area.
