    Just 12 minutes south of Little Current, this private waterfront cottage with a dock and shallow, sandy entry awaits you. Cottage is on Manitoulin Island, just 40 minutes from the ferry, 12 minutes to shopping and hospital at Little Current, with the water and dock in your private backyard for you to enjoy and relax at your leisure. This 4 + bedroom and 1 bathroom cottage with hot water shower is very roomy and cool during the day with a nice breeze off the lake. Has outdoor firepit, BBQ, hammocks, has a little, real sand beach, dock, sandy, shallow entry into the water, and is on a private lot with parking. Cottage is furnished with appliances and has dishes and cutlery. Renters will need to bring linens, towels, wash and dish clothes, as well as toilet paper. Water from cottage comes from the lake so water is for washing and showering only. Water is not for drinking. A water dispenser is in the kitchen and can be refilled at Foodland. Cottage also has regular Hydro, no generator. There is a smart TV with a DVD player and dvds but no wifi; data comes in good though. There are Muskoka chairs around the lakeside firepit facing west so you can see the beautiful sunsets over the water, and hear the sound of loons at times. The ducks are friendly too. Landfill/recycling sites are located at Little Current and Kagawong. Google for location and hours of operation. Garbage/recycling/food must be removed from the property when renters leave. Do not leave garbage/recycling/food behind. Come to the Island and enjoy its beautiful and relaxing environment.

    Just steps to the water's edge there is 150 waterfront where you can soak up the sun on the 42 x 12 deck or cast your fishing line from the 12 x 10 floating dock. The water is clear, with a gradual sandy hard bottom and no weeds which makes it perfect for swimming. The entrance into the water is gradual for the little ones and deep enough at the end of the dock so the big kids can jump into the water. Cast your line you will be guaranteed to catch a large, small mouth bass, perch and lake trout right off the dock or use the 12-foot tin boat that is included in the rental to catch the big one. There is also a paddle boat and canoe available at the cottage for you to use during your stay.

Thunder Bay Kite Festival (May): The Kite Festival, first held in 1981, was included in the "Top 50 Ontario Festivals" list for four years in a row. Come out and participate in the exciting kite workshops, demonstrations and activities. Previously, we have been joined by our friends from the , Toronto Kite Fliers and the New York Kite Enthusiasts. Members of these clubs continue to wow audiences with their spectacular demonstrations with their high-flying colourful kites. Don't miss this award-winning day of fun,colour and amazement!

Sudbury Gardening Festival (May): The event will include gardening-related vendors and exhibitors, as well as speaker presentations throughout the day.  The Society also hosts its spring plant sale and juried horticultural show in conjunction with the event. Admission is FREE.

Mining Day in Thunder Bay (June): A free family event, with games and prizes for the kids. Come out and learn about mining, mineral exploration and geology in northwestern Ontario. Over 30 exhbitis related to mining, enivornmental protection, gology and careers as well as opportunities to try your luck at gold panning or listen to one of the several talks related to historical mining in northwestern Ontario.  The young at heart always enjoy the chance to have an up close look at heavy equipment, diamond drills and helicopters. This outdoor event is held in Thunder Bay's beutiful Marina Park on the shore of Lake Superior.

Canada Day Celebration (July 1): Celebrate our nation’s birthday with a cake cutting ceremony, games, demonstrations and evening fireworks.

Norseman Festival (July): Annual family festival celebrating the rich history of aviation in Northern Ontario. Fly-in concert, static display, heritage display and flypast. Family activities for all ages including entertainment, food and games. This event has been attracting visitors from all over the world for over twenty years.

Kapuskasing Lumberjack Festival (July): The Lumberjack Heritage Festival desbucherons celebrates the pioneer families who carved a thriving community out of the unforgiving wilderness of Northern Ontario. The festival showcases lumberjacks, live entertainment and a live rodeo.

The Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival (July to August): An amazing ten-day festival celebrating the community of Sioux Lookout and is accessible to everyone.
