How to Get Here & Getting Around - If you’re flying in, you’ll most likely be arriving at the Kelowna International Airport, which is 20 minutes from the city center. If you’re driving, travel routes leading to the Okanagan from any direction is extremely beautiful! Highway 97 is the main north-south highway. From there, the connections to east-west includes Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1), Crowsnest or Southern Trans-Provincial Highway (Hwy 3), and Highway 97C (Okanagan Connector).

Hwy 97 intersects with US Route 97, which begins in northern California. Once you’re in BC, the highway runs straight north and south from the US-Canada border at Osoyoos BC all the way to the Yukon-BC border at Watson Lake.

As always, the best way to see all the sights is by car. Aside from that, tour the place by foot, by riding your bike, or riding the Greyhound bus.

When to Go - The hot, dry summer is peak season here, and weekends can get crowded. Visit during the fall, when farmer’s markets brim with local produce and summer crowds have dispersed. September is also a great month for a wine-tasting trip.

This is a friendly place where you can enjoy others in walking the beach trails,with the scent of pine trees and wild sweet peas. Walk up the hill to amazing views of grape vines, orchards with pear, apple, cherry, peach and apricot trees in bloom and homes dotting the landscape jutting in and out of the waterline below. Purchase your fruit in bulk and take it home. Rental boats at Turtle Bay (5 min) for skiing, touring, or fishing. Bike trails at Kettle Valley (old railroad tracks and bridge with panoramic views. Reminiscent of Italy the views are unbelievable!! Sports Enthusiasts: There is golf courses - Everywhere.
