How to Get Here & Getting Around - If you’re flying in, you’ll most likely be arriving at the Kelowna International Airport, which is 20 minutes from the city center. If you’re driving, travel routes leading to the Okanagan from any direction is extremely beautiful! Highway 97 is the main north-south highway. From there, the connections to east-west includes Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1), Crowsnest or Southern Trans-Provincial Highway (Hwy 3), and Highway 97C (Okanagan Connector).

Hwy 97 intersects with US Route 97, which begins in northern California. Once you’re in BC, the highway runs straight north and south from the US-Canada border at Osoyoos BC all the way to the Yukon-BC border at Watson Lake.

As always, the best way to see all the sights is by car. Aside from that, tour the place by foot, by riding your bike, or riding the Greyhound bus.

When to Go - The hot, dry summer is peak season here, and weekends can get crowded. Visit during the fall, when farmer’s markets brim with local produce and summer crowds have dispersed. September is also a great month for a wine-tasting trip.

With a huge fully equipped kitchen and eating and sleeping room for 12, there is no shortage of space. Relax after your day on the slopes in the comfortable, high quality leather sofas or in the large, private hot tub. Located in the family-friendly neighborhood of Snow Pines, our chalet is located on a quiet street and there is even a steep hill to toboggan along the side. Walk across the street to ski out and ski right in. There is no garage parking because it is a games room but there are 2 driveway parking spots and a free overflow lot at the end of the street. Hot tub runs November - April and is typically closed for the summer, but can be filled for an additional fee. We understand that covid-19 is providing uncertainty for your family vacation. Big White still offers a great opportunity for a family holiday even when downhill skiing may not be possible. That said, further to our usual 60 day refund policy, for the 2020-2021 season we will be offering a 20% refund for any nights running during a lift operation closure. Great Okanagan Beer Festival
(May): Nestled on the beautiful beaches of Okanagan Lake and right in the heart of the city of Kelowna, Waterfront Park will become host to 30+ breweries, pouring beers from across North America and the World. Great Okanagan Beer Festival will be a three day festival, offering patrons a mix of exclusive cask events, beer and brewing seminars, and a beer sampling main event pouring for an estimated 2,500 beer drinkers.
