The climate varies somewhat in the Okanagan. As expected, the North Okanagan can be cooler than the South Okanagan. Despite this, the Okanagan is considered to have the mildest winter temperatures in Canada. Summers are hot and sunny. This climate allows for vacation rental opportunities in any season. In winter the mountains east and west of the Okanagan Valley get heavy snowfalls, which provide excellent conditions for various winter recreation activities including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, skating, and tobogganing. Summer is a popular season in the Okanagan. Attractions include wineries and vineyards, fruit-laden orchards, and plenty of summer recreation sports such as boating, swimming, fishing, golfing and hiking. Don't forget your sunscreen! Temperatures have been known to reach thirty-five to forty degrees Celsius on a summer day. Residents and tourists flock to the many beaches for relief from the heat. Kelowna tends to be the most popular choice for tourists, but a short drive in any direction will be well worth the trip. West of Kelowna across the bridge is West Kelowna. Here you will find the famous and breath taking winery Mission Hill, as well as smaller ones such as Quails' Gate and Mt. Boucherie. Southwest of Kelowna you will find the quaint lakefront town of Peachland with excellent restaurants, shops, beaches and parks. Further south you will find the city of Penticton . This city lies between the Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. Rent an inflated tube and spend an afternoon floating down the canal that connects the two. Penticton has great beaches, restaurants, cafes, wineries and vineyards, and more. Condo rentals and other accommodations are readily available in this beachy city. On the Southern border of the Okanagan region is Osoyoos. Swim, water-ski, wakeboard, fish, sail, or paddle in one of British Columbia's warmest lakes, Osoyoos Lake.

North of Kelowna is the city of Vernon and towns of Lake Country, Armstrong and Enderby. The North Okanagan has smaller but equally as beautiful lakes.     Our chalet is located on Snowpines Rd, in Snow Pines Estate, Big White. The chalet has 7 bedrooms across two suites, both which enjoy magnificent views of the Monashees mountain range. Family reunions or several families will enjoy the flexibility and size of our setup (No party groups please people). Access between the suites is by an external, covered staircase. Both suites are an open concept kitchen/dining/living design. The property was recently renovated including kitchens and bathrooms. Location: With ski-in ski-out accessibility, it's easy to get out there on time for that champagne powder that this beautiful mountain is known for, and be back to enjoy your après ski. Ski out 450m down Snowpines road to the ski trail leading to Ridge Rocket, Snowghost or the Plaza Chairs. The Ridge Day lodge also located by the lifts has a ticket office. The ski-in is very close to our chalet, 85m for advanced skiers to enter directly from the rear of the property and you won't need to take your skis off until you get to the door. Beginner skiers can take the easier path along the road reaching the front of our property in 200m.

The Sandy beach is just a short stroll past the pool. Barona beach is about 15 minutes to downtown Kelowna and about 8 minutes to the Westbank hub. This unit won't disappoint you. Bright, spacious with 950 sq. Ft and beautifully decorated to feel like a beach vacation. Located on the top floor with easy access to the beach and pool. Sat to Sat are preferred dates, dates mid week may not be accepted if they leave gaps of more than 1 night to another booking check out. What our guests have to say: Stayed August 2016 5/5 The condo was spacious and well equipped - had everything one would need to cook your meals and lots of extra blankets for the cooler nights. It was nicely decorated, clean and very cozy. Location was ideal for us and were only a short walk to the village. Easy access to lots of hikes. We hiked all over the mountain and biked the trails. The drive to local beaches was only about 20 minutes. Overall the stay at Silver Star was great. Booking was easy and the condo was as expected from the photos.
