How to Get Here & Getting Around - If you’re flying in, you’ll most likely be arriving at the Kelowna International Airport, which is 20 minutes from the city center. If you’re driving, travel routes leading to the Okanagan from any direction is extremely beautiful! Highway 97 is the main north-south highway. From there, the connections to east-west includes Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1), Crowsnest or Southern Trans-Provincial Highway (Hwy 3), and Highway 97C (Okanagan Connector).

Hwy 97 intersects with US Route 97, which begins in northern California. Once you’re in BC, the highway runs straight north and south from the US-Canada border at Osoyoos BC all the way to the Yukon-BC border at Watson Lake.

As always, the best way to see all the sights is by car. Aside from that, tour the place by foot, by riding your bike, or riding the Greyhound bus.

When to Go - The hot, dry summer is peak season here, and weekends can get crowded. Visit during the fall, when farmer’s markets brim with local produce and summer crowds have dispersed. September is also a great month for a wine-tasting trip.

The top deck can be reached by walk-out sliding doors. It has a 6 person hot tub that overlooks the lake, giving you that infinity pool feeling. You'll see a variety of birds, such as raptors, ducks, hummingbirds, & turtles soaking up the sun, plus a variety of other types of wildlife. Leading off the waterfront deck is a ramp which takes you to the 45’ dock providing you plenty of room to dock your boat. Adding to your dock enjoyment are 2 dock mounted chairs and table with umbrella to enjoy a cocktail while enjoying the spectacular, million dollar view of the lake and gorgeous sunset. Vernon town centre is a 20 minute drive from the cabin, and going south on Westside Road you can reach Kelowna in about 45 minutes. This is a very scenic, narrow and winding route that is very popular for motorcycles. The cabin is also approximately 1 hr drive via hwy 97 to the Kelowna Airport. A grocery/bakery/hardware/ladies/gas station (called Little Kingdom) store is located 6km south on Westside Road from the cabin, which has almost everything you'll need. For those bigger shopping needs it is recommended to drive into Vernon or Armstrong. There is a large mall approximately 15 minutes away. Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club is located just 8 km from the cabin. Located 1 km from the cabin is Newport Beach Resort, you can drive or walk via trail. There is also a marina for launching your boat for a small fee. There is parking for 3 vehicles at the cabin, also plenty of room to park your boat trailer during your stay. There is also a washer and dryer. We highly encourage renters to use the available recycling bins and composter.
