The climate varies somewhat in the Okanagan. As expected, the North Okanagan can be cooler than the South Okanagan. Summer is a popular season in the Okanagan. Temperatures have been known to reach thirty-five to forty degrees Celsius on a summer day. Residents and tourists flock to the many beaches for relief from the heat. Kelowna tends to be the most popular choice for tourists, but a short drive in any direction will be well worth the trip. West of Kelowna across the bridge is West Kelowna. Here you will find the famous and breath taking winery Mission Hill, as well as smaller ones such as Quails' Gate and Mt. Boucherie. Southwest of Kelowna you will find the quaint lakefront town of Peachland with excellent restaurants, shops, beaches and parks. Further south you will find the city of Penticton . This city lies between the Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. Rent an inflated tube and spend an afternoon floating down the canal that connects the two. Penticton has great beaches, restaurants, cafes, wineries and vineyards, and more. Condo rentals and other accommodations are readily available in this beachy city. On the Southern border of the Okanagan region is Osoyoos. Swim, water-ski, wakeboard, fish, sail, or paddle in one of British Columbia's warmest lakes, Osoyoos Lake.

North of Kelowna is the city of Vernon and towns of Lake Country, Armstrong and Enderby. The North Okanagan has smaller but equally as beautiful lakes. All we could see outside was forest, mountains, and our own private hot tub - like we were the only people in town. So quiet. Our adult children were not keen on the bunk beds in the 2nd bedroom, but the pull out couch added an option and solved the top bunk arguments. Big kitchen was easy to cook in. You may also take advantage of the free shuttle bus which runs throughout Silver Star on a continuous loop basis. It is easy to stay in the village for some apres ski fun before catching the bus home. There is lots of storage areas and room for your gear. Please note there is a garage but it is not part of the rental. What our guests have to say: 5/5 Excellent-Stayed: December 2016 We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay, from the time we arrived and were greeted with an exceptional gift basket until when we unfortunately had to leave, we could not have been happier with our stay. If you are looking for something truly "turn-key" where you don't have to worry about anything, this is the place. The only downside for the old guys was having to hike a little to the lift, however even that is not problem as the courtesy shuttle runs like clockwork.
