The climate varies somewhat in the Okanagan. As expected, the North Okanagan can be cooler than the South Okanagan. Summer is a popular season in the Okanagan. Attractions include wineries and vineyards, fruit-laden orchards, and plenty of summer recreation sports such as boating, swimming, fishing, golfing and hiking. Don't forget your sunscreen! Temperatures have been known to reach thirty-five to forty degrees Celsius on a summer day. Residents and tourists flock to the many beaches for relief from the heat. Kelowna tends to be the most popular choice for tourists, but a short drive in any direction will be well worth the trip. West of Kelowna across the bridge is West Kelowna. Here you will find the famous and breath taking winery Mission Hill, as well as smaller ones such as Quails' Gate and Mt. Boucherie. Southwest of Kelowna you will find the quaint lakefront town of Peachland with excellent restaurants, shops, beaches and parks. Further south you will find the city of Penticton . This city lies between the Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. Rent an inflated tube and spend an afternoon floating down the canal that connects the two. Penticton has great beaches, restaurants, cafes, wineries and vineyards, and more. Condo rentals and other accommodations are readily available in this beachy city. On the Southern border of the Okanagan region is Osoyoos. Swim, water-ski, wakeboard, fish, sail, or paddle in one of British Columbia's warmest lakes, Osoyoos Lake.

North of Kelowna is the city of Vernon and towns of Lake Country, Armstrong and Enderby. The North Okanagan has smaller but equally as beautiful lakes.     We have skied and boarded here at Big White since 2006 and in that time we have stayed in accommodation all over the mountain. We know what is important in choosing accommodation for a ski/snow board vacation and our home ticks all the boxes. First, Legends is located literally beside "Hummingbird", a green run from the Village that runs down to 3 chairlifts. We have the ultimate in ski in/ ski out. When heading out, simply step thru the door from the living room onto the lower level deck, collect your skis or board from the secure, on deck storage, step off the deck on to the snow and away you go. Take an easy, 2 minute warm up run down to the Plaza Chair, the Ridge Rocket Express or the Snow Ghost Express Six Pack. At the end of the day, take an easy 2 minute run from the Village down Hummingbird right to your deck. Absolutely NO walking and absolutely NO carrying equipment. It could not be easier. Second, you have spectacular views across the valley to the Monashee Mountains, to be enjoyed from the upper and lower levels and from the hot tub. You can lie in bed in the master bedroom and look across Hummingbird. You can sit in the hot tub and watch the skiers and boarders below. Also in the hot tub, you have a ringside seat for the Saturday night fireworks at Happy Valley ! Third, you are a quick 5 minute walk from Mountain Services and the Village Center, where shops, restaurants, the Ski and Boarding School and other activities are located. There is a mountain shuttle service that runs past Legends every 30 minutes and the pick up/drop of point is a 1 minute walk away if you don't want to walk. From our home, you can walk across Hummingbird to the Village Way and Happy Valley is only a 15 minute walk down the Hill. You don't even need to walk back up - you can take Lara's Gondola from Happy Valley back up to the Village. On top of all of this, our home offers a relaxed, comfortable stay, in a recently remodeled, timber post and beam construction condo. We have 2 gas rock fireplaces, in the master bedroom and living room, with the living room fireplace recently rebuilt. We have 10 foot ceilings to the lower level and we have recently repainted. We offer free wireless internet and pay TV through 3 new flat screen TVs in the living room, master bedroom and family room. We have everything to keep the kids happy including DVD player and movies, Play Station 3, books, board games and lots more. There are hooks and shelving for the storage of clothing, boots and equipment in the combination laundry and boot room so these items are not in the way when not in use. There is even an electric boot warmer ! The hot tub is checked and serviced professionally every other day and we can arrange a full cleaning and bed linen service at cost if requested. We provide everything you'll need including bed linen, towels, face washers, cups, glasses, dishes, cutlery, cooking equipment and utensils, cooking and cleaning appliances and more. All you need to bring is clothing, ski / boarding gear and groceries ! Outside, there is secure covered parking for 2 cars. Since we bought the Property, we have used it exclusively ourselves and we are proud to offer it now for rental for the first time. We know you will love it as much as we do !

In times of heavy snowfall it may take some time before all the roads get plowed. Also, don't forget to FILL UP YOUR GAS TANK before you leave for Big White. There are no gas stations at Big White Ski Resort. The last gas station before leaving Kelowna is a Super Save Station located in the Black Mountain area which is just before heading up the hill out of the area. And the most certain area to get gas coming from Osoyoos or Grand Forks on Highway 3, is Rock Creek. Review from a recent guest, (February 2016): 'We just returned from out stay at your condo in Big White. I just wanted to reach out and say we had a lovely time - the condo was perfect. The open layout was great for our big group to socialize, without feeling cramped. We especially loved the big dining room table that could fit all of us. The beds were super comfy and we appreciated all the towels that were provided. The ski in/out was so easy and made our days a delight. The highlight of the place was definitely the sauna - what an awesome addition!'

    There is a separate cedar lined sauna with benches in the unit to relax in after a long day of skiing. Relax on the leather sofa or glide rocker at the same time as watching our new high definition, wall mounted flat screen TV which is supplied by Bell satellite. New (2011) Queen LEATHER sofa bed with the best mattress available in the living room. New (Nov/13) pillow top queen bed in the bedroom. The unit is on the top floor and an end unit in the building. To ski out, walk out your door 2 steps!, go down the stairs one flight to 8th floor, exit the door, down 1/2 flight of stairs and you are on the slopes. The building is built into the hill so even though you are on the 9th floor you are just 2 levels above the ground. Summer/Fall 2011 resulted in all new exterior windows and doors for the entire building. Unit 44519 is adjacent to this unit and provides 1000 sq. Ft and sleeps maximum of 6 people. There is a heavy inside door between the 2 units.

    Constructed with large wooden beams, vertical logs and shed type roof in the main living/dining/kitchen area gives a warm and cosy atmosphere. While the unit is constantly being updated and the paint is kept fresh, November 2013 saw the kitchen and bathroom counters replaced with new quartz counters, under mount sinks, new faucets and a new french door fridge installed with a bottom freezer drawer and and built in ice maker. A new pillowtop queen mattress was replaced in the loft. There are 2 new comfortable chairs in the living room and a new 'high rise' efficiency toilet in the bathroom.. The kitchen is well equipped with new dishes, cutlery, pots, etc and the cupboards and fridge always have lots of staples. ( I go on the honor system - if you use items either replace them or leave something else. ) This system has worked well in the past. Unit 44522 is adjacent to this unit and could be rented as well and provides sleeping for 4 people more and about another 550 sq. Ft. There is a heavy locking inside door between the 2 units. Summer/Fall of 2011 resulted in all new exterior windows and doors for the entire building.

Approximately 10 minutes south of Penticton, the property is only 293 steps from "Pioneer Park", Kaleden's water front park, offering warm water, a beautiful sandy beach, well marked swimming area, grassy picnic areas with picnic tables available, play ground, tennis courts, and a multipurpose court with basketball hoops. A washroom/changing room area is well maintained. This park was the reason we first moved to Kaleden, it is why people come here to visit. You will be renting the main floor and loft of our home (we live in a separate suite in the basement with our own driveway and entrance). You will have a 1900 square foot open concept home with three bedrooms, two bath, kitchen with granite counter tops, vaulted living room, and a loft area with a TV. Our Master Bedroom - a romantic sanctuary- featuring a queen size bed with a down duvet, large en-suite with soaker tub and separate steam shower. A gas fireplace is shared between the bedroom and en-suite. Garden doors open up to the hot-tub located on the deck so you can soak and stare at the stars. Two other bedrooms feature down duvets and share the main bathroom which has a separate tub and shower. The living room boasts 18 windows to the lofted ceiling, letting in a lot of natural light, to say the least. The house has central air conditioning and ceiling fans to help keep your stay comfortable and most windows are treated with solar film to help keep the sun's heat outside. The loft is quite a large area with a TV, Blu-ray player, cable with some HD channels. There is also a desk and chair. Some books and DVD's are provided, but we are not great collectors so it is a small collection. Please note that parking is limited to two vehicles, with no "on street parking". Trailers or motor-homes will not work on our street as it is narrow and fairly steep with no room for a large vehicle to turn around.

Please understand that the home is newly renovated and we are still working on the yard, so it may be messy at times with construction/landscaping supplies.

Includes all amenities. There is a very nice dining nook with a bay window looking over the lake at Silver Star Mountain or you can dine on the deck with a similar view. The living room is a good size and furniture can be moved around for one of the many board games supplied, or on the round dining room table which is perfect for a family board game in the evening. You will be located on the westside of Okanagan Lake, 35 minutes from Vernon and 45 minutes from Kelowna. Just bring your own steaks. This place is far enough from town so the lake isn't crowded, yet close enough in case you'd like to get cityfied. There are restaurants as well as grocery stores and a liquor, wine and cold beer store a short drive away. Fintry Provincial Park is quite the historical site. They have tours through both the original Manor House/Museum and the octagonal cow barn, that was ahead of it's time 100 years ago, which has been rebuilt. Yes, those cows were stylin' 100 years ago. From the barn there is a hike up to Shorts Creek Falls where The Laird of Fintry, James Cameron Dun-Waters, also created some of the first electricity in the Okanagan.For Fintry Delta. Sugarloaf Mountain, a couple of miles to the north, is also a nice hike, though a bit longer. Terrace Mountain, the highest peak in the Okanagan, is close by and an interesting drive to the top where you can see the whole Valley from Kelowna to Vernon. There is also a nice walk waiting right outside your door around the neighbourhood or pathways through the forest. There are Adirondak chairs and a picnic table, with an umbrella, on the large dock. On the beach is also a picnic table as well as benches around a nice fire pit with firewood close by. It is a nice quiet spot where you won't hear traffic but maybe the chirping of birds in the morning or maybe a loon chanting in the evening as well as this year's ducklings or goslings swimming with their new proud parents during the day. If you're an early riser you could watch a sunrise across the lake coming up behind Silver Star Mountain, on the other side of Vernon. The sun is on the dock until early evening when it goes behind the mountains in the west when you can kick back, relax and review all the fun you had that day
