About Pismo Beach - Known as “Classic California”, Pismo Beach is a Central Coast beach town surrounded by pristine beaches, Monarch butterflies, clams, a great downtown, and has a very laid-back vibe. It’s found halfway between San Francisco and Los Angeles and is the most prominent of the Five Cities Area of San Luis Obispo County (out of Arroyo Grande, Oceano, Grover Beach, and Shell Beach). Pismo allows you to relive childhood memories while making new ones with your own family. Presenting the perfect spot for your beach getaway, Owner Direct Vacation Rentals offers a variety of Pismo Beach accommodations with all the comforts of home, like condo rentals, executive homes, and villa rentals.

Where to Stay & Why - There’s no better way to experience Pismo Beach than by finding vacation rentals within easy reach of the activities and attractions. Choose accommodations that place you in the heart of it all. Plus, some of the lodgings are within a few minutes from the beach. Take advantage of the amenities of a vacation rental that include separate sleeping areas with private bathrooms, spacious living rooms with cable TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area, a deck or a patio with amazing views and a barbecue grill, parking, and more!

What to See & Do - Riding on the dunes is the most popular activity at Pismo Beach, but there’s plenty to do besides that. You can relax on the beach while the kids splash around or play on the sand, visit the scenic lighthouse, or take a drive along the coast. There’s also golfing, ATVs, horseback riding, surfing, fishing, and much more. Visit the Monarch Butterfly Grove, Dinosaur Caves Park, and Avila Beach.

Where to Eat & Drink - You’ll find plenty of places to eat here, some of them have oceanfront dining! There’s Splash Cafe, Brad’s, and Cracked Crab for amazing seafood. Rosa’s offer classic dishes and an extensive wine list. Grab your morning fix at the Old West Cinnamon Rolls. For more dining and entertainment options, Restaurant Row and Pismo Pier are just a few minutes away.

How to Get Here & Getting Around - Located along the stretch on the San Luis Obispo Bay, with US 101 and Hwy 1 merging through most of Pismo Beach, getting in and out is very convenient. A majority of the visitors fly into Los Angeles and will rent a car to go and explore Pismo Beach. By road, Hwy 101 connects Pismo to Los Angeles in the south, and to San Francisco in the north. The closest Interstate is I-5.

When to Go - The California Coast is prone to “June gloom”, so the best time to visit is Spring or Fall when the skies are clearer and crowds are lesser.

  • Carmel Cottage with Roof

    Carmel: Cottage
    2 BDR • 2 BA • Sleeps 6 • #201612
    114 to 114 USD/night
To offer a house in Carmel by the Sea, I'm required to abide by local ordinances. I can offer only one guest rental in a given 30-day period. The price shown on this page is an approximate guide; rentals are not calculated on a nightly basis. For a detailed explanation, please consult with the admirable Owner Direct staff. ---------- Carmel is a walkable village, one mile square. It’s the site of one of the original California missions (beautifully restored today). You don’t need a car—you can shop for groceries, go to the drugstore, post office, stop at a cafe or restaurant, all within a 5 to 10 minute walk. (There is also regular bus service into the town of Monterey, and also down the coast to the Point Lobos Wildlife Reserve.) The house is a two-bedroom cottage, painted dark grey with white trim, across the street from the side of the La Playa Hotel. It has a gravel driveway big enough for one car. The La Playa Hotel was built in the 1920s and is on the National Register of Historic Hotels. The house is two and half blocks from the town beach, which is over half a mile long. At one end is a famous Frank Lloyd Wright house, built on a cliff; on the other end is Pebble Beach golf course. There are two more public beaches within five miles. The house is 900 square feet, with a deck that wraps around two sides. Half the roof is an upper deck with garden furniture, reached by an outdoor staircase. It has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, plus a new sofa bed in the living room. The house comfortably sleeps 6 adults. (Guests who have tried the queen-size sofa bed have given us good reviews.) We’ve restored the original oak floors from the 1940s in the house’s older section.
