If you are going to Australia, you can’t miss Queensland. It’s the perfect spot to rent a vacation rental home and get some much needed sun while you’re at it. The Australian State of Queensland is located in the Northeast corner of the country and boosts over 300 days of sunshine each year, rightly gaining the nickname of the Sunshine State. With most of the region being of tropical climate, it makes for a perfect place to find sunny accommodation through a condo rental or vacation rental.
The capital of the state is the cosmopolitan city of Brisbane, with a population of roughly 4.4 million people. In recent years, the city has morphed from a sleepy beach town into one of the most desirable places to live, with great beaches, world class art galleries and lots of live music too. The city is just 100km north of the New South Wales border. Near Brisbane are both the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, which contain some of the States best beaches. These beaches and beach towns are perfect for sunbathing, coffee drinking and learning to surf. You can rent holiday lodging in cute beachside communities directly from the owners of villas, apartments, bed and breakfasts, homes, or condo accommodations.
In Queensland, you will also find one of the world's natural wonders – the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef is a world heritage listed site including a 2,000 km stretch of coral reef that allows for incredible diving and sailing adventures. In fact, with crystal clear blue water, this area boosts some of the best diving in the world. And, with over 900 islands (including the Whitsundays), there are endless sailing and boating opportunities as well. The reef is the worlds largest, comprised of over 2,900 individual reefs and can even be seen from outer space. The region is a very popular destination for tourists to visit and has recently become even more desirable, with lots of accommodations to be found here.
Other major city centers in Queensland include Cairns, Port Douglas, Townsville, Bundaberg, and Ipswich. Cairns and Port Douglas boast the most vacation rentals in the State. However, accommodation is fairly widespread in each location, allowing for lots of choice in condo rentals or vacation rentals.
