    Our vacation rental home is just a short walk to Kinsmen beach and Invermere's unique shopping and dining, close to everything yet far enough from the train tracks to not be disturbed. The house is a 1920's Kootenay National Park two-story house that was moved from Radium Hot Springs and has had lots of updates. The spacious interior is warm and charming, with original character hardwood floors, and a full height double-sided fireplace. The large yard has numerous trees, which shade the house on hot summer days. Our home has 4 bedrooms and two full bathrooms. There is a king-size bed and bunk-bed in the large master bedroom with plenty of room for a playpen, 2 bedrooms with queen-size beds, and one bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. There is also a hide-a-bed in the family room. We can accommodate 8 adults or groups up to 10 people of adults and children. All bedding, linens, towels and pillows are provided. The full-size, fully equipped kitchen has an island and cook-top. Basic spices, coffee, coffee filters, sugar and tea are provided. There is a double-sided wood-burning fireplace that faces the kitchen on one side, and the living room on the other side. Upstairs there is a TV room with lots of videos and board games for the kids. High speed wireless internet and NetFlix are available. The large, fenced yard has lots of trees that offers privacy for family fun. There is a large spacious deck with patio tables, chairs and a propane BBQ at the front of the house, a smaller deck off the living room, and a balcony/deck with chairs on the upper level. There is a fire-pit in the backyard (firewood provided). Patio table and chairs are provided. There is an on-site property manager (who lives in a self-contained basement suite) who can assist with emergencies.

    The 26' Travel Trailer is yours to use while you stay. It has both AIR CONDITIONING and heating to keep you comfortable. The kitchen has a small fridge and freezer and a 3 burner gas range with oven. The bathroom has a small tub and shower, but typical to a travel trailer the hot water tank is small. A TV and DVD player and movies are provided. It comes fully stocked, including bedding, towels, a coffee maker, kettle, toaster, dishes and pots and pans. If you need something we haven't already provided, just let us know and we will do what we can to assist you. The space is suitable for a single person, couple or couple with kids. There is one queen sized bed in the bedroom, plus the dinette and sofa convert to small beds suitable for children or adults 5'3" or shorter. We welcome your pets, to a maximum of 2 due to space restrictions. Outside the property is a fire pit for your personal use (dependant on fire restrictions). Limited amounts of firewood will also be provided. We provide the fixings for breakfast while you stay, including coffee, tea, fruit, bread, cereal and eggs. We also provide basic condiments, sugar, salt and pepper, ketchup, mustard, relish, milk and cream. All you need to bring are your cooking skills and bacon. There is no cell service on the property making this the perfect place if you want to go "off the grid" for a few days. Wifi is available but due to limited data availability we ask that our guests do not use any streaming services while they stay with us. We have a small hobby farm with Chickens and Ducks that roam the property during the day. We also have 2 young Labs that spend a lot of time playing outside. Please let us know ahead of time if this is a problem and we will keep them away during your stay. The 10 acre property backs right on to the Trans Canada Trail and is bordered by crown land, making it a perfect place for hiking or biking. We have a seasonal creek and pond on the property with pathways cut into the field for you to enjoy. Guests are welcome to roam the property while they are staying. We ask that they do not enter the buildings on the property including the house, cabin, greenhouse, workshop and chicken coop. We work from home and are outside for the majority of the day. We are available if you need anything, but if you want privacy we are happy to leave you alone. There is no cell service or cable available here. The trailer is off the grid in almost every sense of the word. However, a phone is available for making calls and limited wifi is also available.

Our home is the closest house on the mountain to a ski trail. 3 beautiful, huge King beds, a double trundle that can convert to a King, a double and a futon that folds down to a twin. The front dining area, balcony and Master bedroom window seat all have panoramic views of the Columbia river valley and the Canadian Rockies. Heated wood and slate floors. Air hockey, table tennis and pool table await you down in the den. We have lots of board games, cards, puzzles and movies for your use. We are two avid skiers who bought our house for ski trips with family and friends and eventual retirement. We first skied at Kicking Horse in 2004 as part of our yearly ski trip with friends to the Canadian Rockies. Our day at Kicking Horse was the favorite of everyone on the trip. We couldn't believe how great the snow was, how big the mountain was and how few people there were. In 2009 we were looking to buy and we decided to come back to double check if everything we remembered about it was true. It was and we happened to stumble upon a great deal on this home and jumped at the opportunity. With any life changing event there is always a little voice that wonders if you are doing the right thing. That voice went away and never came back after we had to stop for a black wolf in the middle of the road between Banff and Golden. We knew this was the place for us.
