Sant Agata is a village in Campania, Italy that boasts a wonderful view on the Gulf of Naples on one side and on the other side a spectacular view on the Gulf of Salerno (the name of the town translated is: “Sant’Agata on two gulfs”). Massa Lubrense is an ideal place for a great holiday, more than 100 km of marked trails in the country side, country landscape, famous for its cuisine, a coastline almost 20 miles long in the middle of the Protected Marine Area of Punta Campanella. It is a 2 hours' walk to the Punta della Campanella, at the farthest tip of the peninsula of Sorrento opposite the island of Capri. Largo Vescovado is at the heart of this small historical town from where you can admire the stunning 16th century Santa Maria delle Grazie church, and from where you can absorb the breathtaking views. From the centre of Massa you can take the road to a seafaring suburb called Marina della Lobra which has very pretty houses built right on the shore and around the harbour. It is worth booking a villa rental, vacation rental or condo rental here in order to fully enjoy the splendor of this village.

In a walking distance you can reach all the major the bus-lines, the train station and airport shuttle services for Linate/Malpensa and Orio al Serio. Both the sofas that you see in the pictures are hideaway bed that you can fold away when you are in “sofa-mood". I think that they are even more comfortable as bed than in fact I have chosen them for this very reason.

Two steps further down is the Living room, (with open fireplace, TV and a double sofa-bed), leading out onto the garden and the raised courtyard with pergola and a built-in barbecue. The BBQ area is awesome and you will enjoy grilling fresh fish or souvlaki almost every night. There is also a separate guest house with a double bed and a bathroom with shower. It has entrance from the garden and may accommodate two more persons. In the back gardens there is a small melon field which supply the family and guests with herbs and salads of the season. The apartment was exactly as advertised, and the pool table and Wii sports provided us and our two boys great family recreation time in between all the cultural and culinary sightseeing of Madrid. Most importantly, our host was an extraordinarily helpful "concierge", offering spot-on advice on places to eat and see, and even helping us to get a taxi to take us to the train station on our last day, when a transit strike was otherwise threatening to make it hard to get where we needed to. I honestly cannot speak highly enough about our host's unfailing good humor and great advice. The location of the apartment is a bit out of the way--a half-hour or so by subway from most of the places we wanted to visit in Madrid--but even that became a surprising benefit, as it forced us to get to know the subway system, and thus to really feel like locals. The location is excellent; Lisbon is 35 minutes, Sintra is 15 and Cascais is 7. We live on the same property - although completely independent - and we enjoy helping guests with suggestions and recommendations for shopping, excursions, restaurants, etc. Wine and coffee are offered with pleasure in our large garden. The cottage has a WiFi connection as well as many international TV channels. Guests are invited to use our phone through skype or VoIP in the event that they do not have their own facilities. The owner is American and a concert violinist who has traveled throughout the world and who enjoys relating stories of his travels and hearing stories from our guests. His spouse is Portuguese, knows the country very well and is eager to share her passion for flowers and her knowledge of Portuguese cuisine.

Originally a barn, it has now been fully restored into a beautiful private villa with its own swimming pool and garden. Furnished in classic Tuscan style, the villa is fitted with modern comforts whilst retaining all its original characteristics. The villa, which on two floors, boasts gorgeous beamed ceilings and has a light and airy atmosphere. The ground floor consists of a fully equipped country style eat in kitchen complete with large table and chairs, a washroom, two comfortable lounges. All have patio doors open onto the rear terrace which is furnished with table and chairs and shaded by a pergola. Also on the ground floor is a luminous corridor which opens onto the garden and pool area and leads to a single bedroom with en suite shower room. On the first floor there are two charming bedrooms one with double bed and one with twin beds and a shower room. Both bedrooms still retain original slanted brick characteristics on some of the windows.
