The semi-secluded setting of Buck Wild offers all the quiet and privacy you want from a Smoky Mountain getaway. Yet the 4-bedroom log home is surprisingly close to the attractions of both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Add to its spectacular location amenities such as a hot tub, Jacuzzis, pool and foosball tables, and a fire pit, and you have the makings of a perfect vacation.
Buck Wild can sleep up to 14 people—and a 4-legged friend or 2 as well. The main floor’s master suite is a retreat in and of itself, with a king-size bed, a jetted tub, a private bathroom, and a door that opens directly onto a deck. After your relaxing soak you can step outside for a moonlit night cap, then snuggle into bed with your sweetie… so romantic!
The upstairs suite is just as pampering, with its own jetted tub and bathroom, a queen-size bed, and cathedral ceilings that give the room a fairy-tale ambience. The remaining 2 bedrooms are downstairs. One has a queen-size bed; the other is twice as nice, with 2 queen-size beds, making it a great rooms for the kids or for parents in your group with little ones who don’t want to sleep on their own. These bedrooms share the 3rd bathroom, which is large enough to also house the cabin’s washer and dryer. All 4 bedrooms have their own TVs. What’s more, the upstairs and downstairs game rooms each have a queen-size sleeper sofa, as does the main floor’s great room.
Speaking of the great room, it manages to be both spacious and cozy, thanks in part to its cathedral ceiling and lustrous wood-planked walls and floor. Whether you’re stretched out on a couch watching TV, warming yourself by the gas fireplace after a day on the slopes, or playing Uno with the kids, you’ll feel right at home in the rustic yet refined living area.
The dining area seats 12. Eight can gather around the table, and 4 more can belly up to the adjacent breakfast bar. On the other side of the breakfast bar is the well-equipped kitchen. Appliances, pots and pans, tableware and serveware: You name it, Buck Wild’s kitchen has it. You can cook outdoors as well, on the charcoal grill. If you reel in any trout from the nearby streams, try grilling it for a true Smoky Mountain feast.
Buck Wild has 2 game rooms. The loft game room hosts the full-size pool table as well as a TV. Downstairs is where you’ll find the foosball table, a dartboard, and an even larger TV, complete with surround sound, a DVD player, and a PlayStation 3. And wait till you settle back onto those plush sofas; you might never want to get back up!
The cabin has both a front porch and a rear deck, enabling you to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding woodlands. You can listen to the mountain breeze rustle through the leaves as you sit around the patio table or amid the steamy bubbles of the hot tub, which can accommodate up to 5 people at once. Once the stars come out, build a bonfire in the backyard’s rock pit, roast marshmallows, and listen to the owls hooting in the distance; it’s a memory you’ll long cherish.
Given how secluded Buck Wild seems, you might forget how conveniently close it is to everything that the area has to offer. In 15 minutes (or less!) you can drive to Dollywood, Gatlinburg Golf Course, and the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, an 8-mile trail of more than 120 studios, galleries, and shops. Just a few minutes more and you can be at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Titanic Museum, Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, and downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Museum, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, thrill rides, mini golf, arcades, restaurants, and more.
A vacation at Buck Wild really is a dream come true. So make your dream a reality, and book your stay today—before someone else beats you to it!
