Silver Star Mountain Resort, located just 22 km outside of Vernon, BC in the beautiful Okanagan Valley offers fun for everyone! It's an easy 65 km drive from the Kelowna international Airport, the main gateway to Silver Star Resort, a 5 hour drive from Vancouver, or a 6.5 hour drive from Calgary. Silver Star is often quoted as a magical, boutique-style village and is broken up into 3 main areas: North Silver Star, the Village and The Knoll. North Silver Star offers guests many ski in ski out chalet rental options. Perfect for families or larger groups, these vacation homes are close to the base of the Silver Queen Chair, tube town, the skating pond and the snowmobile rentals. Many are pet-friendly and offer great mountain and village views from the hot tub. It's about a 5 minute walk or take the complimentary resort bus from various complex buildings to the village where all the shops and restaurants can be found.

Silver Star Village is where the action is at. Shopping, coffee shops, restaurants and that central village feel greet you here. Condos above the shops or cozy accommodations within close walking distance will have you socializing with the locals and on the chairlift in no time.

The Knoll residential area houses vacation homes, duplexes and triplexes within a quiet neighbourhood. Enjoy the stunning views of the Monashee mountains within larger luxury chalets and spacious town homes, many of which are ski in ski out. This area is an ideal retreat for families or a group of friends looking for a private hot tub and spacious self contained homes. The resort shuttle bus also runs throughout this area.

One of BC's most popular ski and snowboard destinations, the Silver Star's snow season runs from late November to mid-April weather permitting. In the winter you will get to enjoy a world class ski mountain where downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing will be the highlights of your day. With 1,240 hectares and 115 marked runs, the average annual snowfall of 700cm/276in of champagne dry powder, will produce reliably fine conditions. The temperatures are just perfect – cold enough to keep the snow in pristine condition without you freezing!

There's an good blend of easy, intermediate and advanced terrain with plenty of extreme action to satisfy serious thrill seekers. Enjoy the variety of fun activities for the whole family, including snowshoeing, ice skating, snow tubing, and horse-drawn sleigh rides. Weekly resort organized events such as fireworks, movie nights, family bingo and carnival nights are sure to make your trip even more memorable.

In the summer, there is lift access for mountain biking and hiking from the end of June through to the September long weekend. The temperatures are usually several degrees cooler than the scorching Okanagan Valley. Sunny and warm for outdoor dining yet cool enough for outdoor hiking and biking activities. Trail difficulties range from green to double black. The area abounds with wildlife in summer. Say hello to wild animals such as black bears, lynx, deer, and hawks. Be awed by the spectacular views of the Okanagan Valley and Monashee mountains, including wildflower meadows and berry patches.

Although, they could use a dish rack. The garage is spacious enough for two SUVs and our ski stuff. So nice to get dressed in the heated garage as it also dried our clothes overnight. Nestled in the Canadian Rockies, the resort offers 3,269 skiable acres and a vertical drop of 2,500 feet. Dive Fish Snow Travel: An Intimate Pedestrian Village
Silver Star is a great place for individuals, couples or families, offering a full range of slopes and accommodation to cater for everyone's needs. Silver Star offers 2,500 vertical feet of groomed snow fields, a mild winter climate and a bounty of snow, approximately 570 cm per season. The longest runs are over 8 kms, which gives you an idea of the size of this resort. There are uncrowded chair lifts and 2725 acres especially for 'off piste' adventure skiing.
