It`s location gives you the choice of a peaceful, romantic envirement arround the house, but also just a few steps and paths up or down the village a great variaty of sophisticated shops, cafe`s & tavernas. Since the steps prevent cars from coming in this part of town, you find parking possabilities at the upper ringroad about 150m from the house. The house has been renovated recently and kept loving taken care of. It`s comfortabel for 4 people and of course children are very welcome. The kitchen has all you need, the bathroom is small but complete. Wooden stairs lead to the first and second flour where you find a bedroom with two single beds and a large attic bedroom with a double-bed. Here is a balcony for two persons wonderful to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine watching the boats come in and out the harbour.......Apart of spending time on one of the beautiful beaches Skopelos offers lots of possibilities to have a great time such as hiking, sailing, kayaking, boattrips to the neighbourislands,sightseeing or just enjoying the beuaty of the town with its hundreds of chapels, having little breaks for coffee or a good traditional "meze" (titbit) in one of the tavernas at the promanade. For any further quetions please don`t hesitate. I`m glad to help. By your arrival I`ll pick you up from the harbour and take you to the house. I`m on the island myself and you can allways reach me by mobile phone. The house is all yours during your stay. The neighbourhood is so pretty, that it reminds you of the typical greek postcards. White washed houses and steps, flowers everywhere,a little chapel right opposite ,cats dozing in the sun, and no cars or motorbikes!!! Wandering through town you might hear a "gia sou" (hello) or have a little chat with one of the local women who sometimes sit on their doorstep in the afternoon. Or go to listen to some unplugged life greek music in a taverna further up the steps...... To get to the beaches there are buses all day long. And you can easely rent a car or bike.     Esperides is a charming 91 m2 country house, on a plot covered with olive and orange trees. It's the perfect place for people who love a quiet place in nature, which is near the seaside and the city of Athens. It is a newly renovated house. The interior design offers very good functionality and it is very good equipped. The house offers very good isolation from the outside temperature and it is fully air-conditioned. The exterior design offers a beautiful garden and vegetable plot, garden furniture, shower, grill equipment and a small but lovely above earth pool. Although the house isn't situated in front of the sea, its location is very competitive, because it combines simultaneously easy access to the beach and the grocery and the public bus service. Our free transfer from and to the airport or the city center at the day of check-in and check out offers a benefit for the quests. The alarm system offers a safe stay for the quests. We offer, free of charge, bicycles for use of all our visitors. My wife and I are available during the renting period. We visit the house every two or three days, to clean the pool and to take care of the garden. Depends on the availability, we offer homemade cooked food, self-produced vegetables, a bottle of homemade wine, olive oil from our trees or eggs from our chicken. We are prompted to give the necessary information and we suggest activities or excursions. Marathon is the place in which took place the ancient battle between the Greeks and the Persians. Here, you can visit the Museum, the Tomb and the ruins of the ancient town of Rhamnus. The region, where the house situated, is flat with a large area of agricultural land between the sea and the mountain of Penteli. The location of the house offers easy access to the nearest beach by bicycle, cycling on a flat area. (about 15 min for 2.2Km). Marathon beach is about 12km long, mostly sandy and deepens smoothly. In this way, it is ideal and safe for children. The seawater is clean and enjoyable, especially in the morning. Swimming at the beach is free of charge. Nevertheless, you can find beach bars, which offer sun lounges and umbrellas, pricing the refreshments or beverages you order. On the east side of the coast, about 10 km far from the house, located the beach named Schinias. This beautiful beach offers a combination of sea and pine forests. There is a great offer for water sports too. On the south side of the coast located the beach of Nea Makri. This beach is very beautiful conformed to the palm tree garden. Here, you can find many cafés, restaurants, taverns and music bars. Remarkable is the easy access to the public bus service. The bus stop is about 400 m away from the house. There is a daily bus service to Athens city center and return, every hour, from 6.00 am to 10.00 pm. Of course in Athens offers many famous places to visit and a lot of walk-in to feel the life of this city. If you have more time and a car, it is very interesting to visit the Temple of Poseidon in Sounion (Attica region), the ancient area of Delphi, the Rocks of Meteora or you can the ferry from Rafina Port to Andros Island and the ferry from Agia Marina Port to south Evia Island.

    Our villa is adjacent to a one-hundred year old room, the so-called Steghathi, one of the oldest stone constructions of the island. The room, which has 1-metre thick stone walls and a traditional fireplace, has been fully renovated and converted into one of the bedrooms. It has a separate roofed entrance. The ground floor of the main house has two en-suite bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining room, a sitting room and an extra bathroom, all rooms with stone floors. The first floor has two en-suite bedrooms and leads to a three-level balcony with far-reaching views on the hilly countryside. All bedrooms and the living room have 40” satellite TVs and WiFi access. The front porch is lined by tall palm trees and offers nice views on a fir/pine tree garden. At the side of the building there is a wide terrace with sitting and barbecue facilities, beautiful plants and flowers, and a veranda with great views. Attached to the terrace, at a slightly lower level, is the swimming pool, which has been designed to follow the curves of the adjacent rock. The door leading to the pool can be locked for safety reasons. Around the pool are olive trees, while local herbs growing on the rock delight the visitors’ senses. The area of Phylakopi is a fertile small valley at the northern part of the island where various prehistoric cities repeatedly flourished between 3000 and 1000 BC. Milos is proud of having more than 72 beaches. Some of the nicest ones are close by. You may enjoy long walks around the area, or if you have your own transportation means you may easily visit all interesting spots of Milos. Boat tours around the island are a big attraction you should not miss. Other activities include Sailing, Diving, Sea kayaking, Windsurfing, Geo Walks, Wine tasting. To get to Phylakopi from Adamas (main port) or the Airport (11km) you may use public buses, a taxi or your own vehicle.     The house belongs to our family since it was builded in later 1700’s. I’ve inherited this cottage from my grandmother in 1999 . I left Crete in 2001 and came to England to become mother and student and the house was left untouched for so long . Last year I was desperate to sale it for making some money that was much needed. However a short trip to Crete and visit to the house again had made their magic and it was my son that convinced me to just try and renovate as much as I can. Indeed the renovation started late September and it finished late April. It has been a very rocky path with tears and sleepless nights. Because I was here in England and not there. However my cousins were there and I’m grateful that they’ve helped me endlessly. Also the technology worked out to be useful so live messages and video calls with my workmen was daily routine .
