INSIDE THE HOUSE There’s room for the whole family in this three level A-frame home - it will sleep 9 with plenty of kid-friendly features. Once you come through the door, up the stairs is the dining room that seats 9 around a long table. The kitchen is galley-style (featuring an electric double oven), with a view of the living room across the breakfast bar with bar stools. The living room highlights the beautiful vaulted pine ceiling - a huge wall of windows lets you gaze out at the trees and mountains in the distance from the comfort of two couches. The 52” TV includes cable and a BluRay player for movie night. Downstairs is a bonus family room with another television, couch, and table that seats 4 for games or cards (board games are stored on the main level under the stairs). There’s an additional play space in the loft above the living room, with seating and a play table for kids. There’s also a daybed here. It’s easy to relax in the master suite on the top floor - the vaulted ceiling and California king bed are extra roomy. The attached master bath has a granite single vanity and a recently retiled stand-up shower. The main level holds two bedrooms - one holds a queen size bed and dresser, and has the same big windows and vaulted ceiling as the master. The other room is large enough to accommodate 3 twin size beds without feeling cramped (don’t worry, there’s a big walk-in closet and dresser too). The main level has one bathroom with a granite vanity and a separate room for the toilet and tub/shower. LOCATION The town of Alpine Meadows is a dream for outdoorsy types, and this house is in the middle of it all. You’re a 5 minute drive from Alpine Meadows Ski Resort, but if you’d like a change of scenery it’s just 10 minutes to Squaw Valley Resort instead. A 10-minute walk will take you to Alpine Meadows Stables for scenic trail riding. Or you can ride your bike all the way to Tahoe City (8.6 miles) by following the nearby trail along the Truckee River. Those who love to hike will find 5 Lakes Trail picks up close by the house. The nearest restaurant is River Ranch, an alpine lodge style with riverfront dining. For more variety you can hit up the ski villages (especially Squaw Valley). OUR LOCATION This quiet neighborhood sits nestled between two stretches of parkland; from here, there’s beauty in every direction. Hiking trails are nearby – within a block you’ll find several to choose from. If you’re instead hankering for urban amenities, downtown South Lake Tahoe is just a 15-minute drive away. The Lake Tahoe marina at Camp Richardson is also a 15-minute drive north - you can get both tips on the trails and a good meal at Beacon Bar & Grill at this popular campsite resort. National Forest is just across the road. INSIDE THE HOUSE The tree-lined driveway and garage accommodates 4 cars—park and make your way up the brick walkway to the ornate front door. Just inside is a mudroom for storing all your outdoor gear. In the open-concept main space, the kitchen overlooks the living room and features a gas range and oven, a dishwasher, and double sink with garbage disposal. There's plenty of counter space to make meal prep a breeze. A small adjacent dining area seats 6, and beyond that is the comfy living room. 2 cozy couches seat 6, and a 42” flat-screen hangs above a gas fireplace. Enjoy HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, and classic cable on all the TVs throughout the house, along with high-speed WiFi. To the left of the living room is a formal dining room with a large table seating 10 and a futon. There's access to the deck here, furnished with tables, chairs, a picnic table, and a propane grill. Stairs lead down to the secluded backyard. There you'll find tetherball, another picnic table, and the hot tub surrounded by pines. The master bedroom is located just off the main space and has a queen-size bed, sweeping woodland views, and a 32” TV. The en suite master has a jetted tub, tiles with floral details, a walk-in shower, and dual sinks. 3 additional bedrooms are located upstairs—2 have queen-size beds and 1 has a full. There's also a full bath with a shower/tub combo. There are games aplenty on the basement floor—play Ping-Pong, foosball, shuffleboard, and pool or just relax on a big cozy couch by another gas fireplace. There are 2 bathrooms with walk-in showers on this level, plus 2 bedrooms—one has 2 twin-over-twin bunk sets, and the other has a queen-size bed. INSIDE THE HOUSE From a driveway with room for 4 cars, you’ll see a small house on the left and the main house straight ahead. Walk past them both to a large, grassy backyard (shared with a home next door) with a deck with gas barbecue and pier out onto Lake Tahoe. A path leads from the driveway to the main house, where you’ll enter into a rustic-inspired kitchen with light wood cabinets, dishwasher, stove/oven and microwave. A hallway off the kitchen leads past a full bath with shower/tub combo and to the fourth and fifth bedrooms, each with two twins and a view of the lake. To the other side, the hallway leads to a dining area with a wooden dining table for 8 and a piano for dinner tunes. This space opens onto a living area with room for 12 to sit on large sofas and loveseats around a flat-screen TV and gas stone fireplace, and at a cozy table near the window. Doors open to the back deck, where there’s a dining space with room for 8. Upstairs from the hall, you’ll find a closet with washer and dryer, small deck, shared full bath with standing shower, and three more bedrooms: one with two twins, one with a king bed and lake views, and the lake-view master with king-size bed and flat-screen TV. Another path leads off the driveway to the second home. Enter into a kitchen with full-size fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher and microwave, plus a breakfast bar seating 3. The kitchen looks out over a dining and living area with floor-to-ceiling windows. A long wooden table seats 8 for meals, and an inviting living area has seating for 2 at a desk, 4 near the window in wicker chairs, and 6 on an L-shaped couch around a stone fireplace and flat-screen TV. A door leads out to a quaint deck. Off the living room, a full bathroom has a standing shower. Off the entryway is the laundry area, plus a staircase to the two bedrooms: one with a king on log frame and one with two twins. Both bedrooms are joined by a full bath with clawfoot tub. OUR LOCATION Tucked right on the shores of Lake Tahoe, our home is a dream for adventure seekers. It’s an 8-minute walk to Homewood Mountain Resort, where you’ll can take to the trails by ski in the winter and foot in the summer, and enjoy fall festivals. Great food is less than a 10-minute walk away. Enjoy dinner and drinks on the lake at West Shore Cafe, a little bit of everything at Obexer’s General Store (be sure to stop by the beer garden!), or steak and cocktails at Swiss Lakewood (in the winter only). To enjoy the weather and discover even more excitement, take an hour ride down the bike trail right into the heart of Tahoe City.
