St. George Island Vacation Rentals

Beautiful St. George Island is a 22 mile barrier island on northwest Florida's Forgotten Coast. Vacation rental accommodations are located at the mouth of the Apalachicola River, originally called Chattahoochee River, just a few miles east of Cape San Blas and about an hour drive from Panama City. Quaint apartment rentals, condo rentals and villa rentals are just steps away from sugary white sand beaches, crystal clear waters with access to the emerald and blue water of the Gulf of Mexico.

Nine miles of undeveloped beaches and dunes, surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and Apalachicola Bay, provide the perfect setting for St. George Island State Park. For those visitors who enjoy a wilderness experience, the last 4 miles of beach are accessible only by foot. Canoeing and kayaking in the park are easily accessible from apartment rental, condo rental and villa rental accommodation. Surf and bay fishing are a favorite pastime while nature lovers will enjoy the trails that meander through the pine flatwood forest to the bay.

St. George Island’s vacation rentals range from beachfront apartment rentals and condo rentals to luxury villa rentals and old fashioned "Florida style" cottages. Vacation rentals are minutes away from simple pleasures and natural treasures such as beachcombing, outstanding bird watching, kayaking, world-class fishing on the Apalachicola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, breathtaking sunsets and abundant wildlife. While staying in picturesque vacation rental lodging and villas you can climb to the top of the Cape St George Lighthouse and learn about its fascinating history at the Visitor Center and Lighthouse Keeper's Museum. Visit nearby historic Apalachicola, in the heart of Franklin County, and enjoy many turn-of-the-century buildings, antique shops, art galleries and award-winning cuisine.

Affordable apartment rental, condo rental and villa rental accommodations are ideal for guests seeking a quiet, peaceful getaway on a beautiful barrier island. The Island's uncrowded, natural beaches are among the best in the United States and ranked in the Top 10 Beaches in the United States for 2011 by Dr. Beach. Vacation home rental accommodation in St George Island is the perfect place for your family fun in the sun vacation or an unforgettable romantic getaway.

3 bed/2 baths, screened porch-open deck, most rooms offer great waterfront views This home sits on north side of road, high on the bluff overlooking St. George Sound. We have 200 feet of private bayfront on south side with a large grassy area and palm trees. The property has shallow water for about 400-500 feet out. The property sits on three acres and backs up to the National forest. We have a large screened in pool,(can be heated in those cool months), and a great octagon shaped deck for sunbathing when you decide not to beach it. There is also a nice screened in area with great views of The Sound as well. St. George Island and the small towns of Carrabelle, Eastpoint, and Apalachicola are just minutes away and offer good seafood restaurants, grocery stores, small shops, and fresh seafood markets. There are three bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with twin beds. There is seating at the kitchen bar, separate dining room, and in the screened porch area. Kitchen has stainless two door frig, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and ceramic cooktop. Living area has a large flat screen TV and also flat screen in master bedroom. There is also a sitting area off the master. If renting in fall, winter, or spring, ask if the pool can be heated and the fee. If you are a golfer, the St. James Bay Golf Course is about 20 minutes away. Its a world class golf course and the areas only Audubon Signature Sanctuary. Wildlife and marinelife are plentiful. We are also one of Florida's great fishing areas. Whether its fresh water, bay and flats fishing, or off-shore, a day on the water is usually a successful day. Guests can catch a variety of species of fish including redfish, speckled trout, flounder, spanish mackeral and so much more right out in front of the house. However, if you would like a guide to take you out, there are numerous great captains in Carrabelle and Apalachicola. Our home is just outside of the town of Eastpoint. The Eastpoint waterfront is filled with small seafood houses. Lots of oyster boats and shrimp boats line the waterfront. The seafood markets offer fresh shrimp, fish (grouper, snapper, flounder, mullet), oysters, scallops, blue crab, and more. You'll find plenty of restaurants, groceries, seafood markets, antique and souvenir shops,, entertainment, and, ofcourse, plenty of boat captains right there among Carrabelle's many small marinas. You can walk for miles on the white sand beach, and bring a picnic with you, as they have a wonderful covered area for picnicking. Or, 20 minutes further are the beautiful beaches and state park of St. George Island, or the historical homes and businesses of Apalachicola. It's a bustling little town full of great restaurants, antique and unique shops, and art galleries along the waters edge. Beautiful old homes and lots of history. Remember to visit the Florida Estuary and Research Center in Eastpoint. There you will find all the marine life, shells, and artifacts indigenous to our area. Another trip you shouldn't miss is Wakulla Springs State Park just 30-35 minutes from Carrabelle. This is probably the largest springs in the country. 7 mile of the Wakulla River is closed off to any traffic. Only the boats guided by your park ranger can take you for an hour's unforgettable trip up the beautiful Wakulla. Crystal clear springs with lots of fish, gators, turtles, birds, and most of the time, even manatees Up Close!!!!' It's the old Florida with beautiful fauna you'll never forget. And best of all, the whole family can cruise.
