Located on the western shore of Okanagan Lake, 12 miles (20 km) North of Penticton sits Summerland. An array of special events takes place during the Spring & Fall Okanagan Wine Festivals. Vacation rentals and accommodations available in Summerland and around, are just as varied as the activities on offer.

This is truly a destination which everyone can enjoy. Take a walking tour and discover fine old buildings or take a self guided tour of the Summerland Trout Hatchery on Lakeshore Drive.

Pack a picnic lunch and visit the 6-hectare Summerland Ornamental Gardens, established in 1914. Trace history at the Summerland Museum & Archives on Wharton Street. Visiting in May, you'll be able to catch the Good Will Shakespeare Festival. After a day of exploring head back to your vacation rental and simply enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Valley.

Around Summerland, there are still loads to discover. Did you know the Okanagan once had an active volcano? Trails up to the summit at Giant's Head Mountain Park take you to this now extinct volcano.

The Kettle Valley Railway offers a unique two-hour journey on one of BC's few remaining fully operational steam railways available from May to October. During this popular season all types of lodging, condo rentals and other accommodations get filled up, so book now to avoid disappointment.

Living up to its name this town caters for sun seeker that can enjoy miles of warm sandy beaches on Okanagan Lake. A few of these include at Powell Beach, Kin Park, Gordon Beggs Rotary Beach, Peach Orchard Beach and Crescent Beach. There is no doubt that your next vacation home rental could be right on the beach.

For winter travellers, there is Apex Mountain Resort. It is located 32 km southwest of nearby Penticton off Hwy 97 and renowned in western Canada as one of the three prime ski and snowboard destinations in the Okanagan Valley.

What an absolute hidden gem. I could sit on that patio sipping Okanagan wine, gazing at the million dollar view for the next 50 years and never get bored of it. Although Summerland is quite small, we were never out of things to do. There are several wineries footsteps away, the Naramata Bench just across the water and Penticton a short drive down the road. The suite, itself, was very well kept and always clean. We could not have been happier with the choice we made to stay in Summerland, and would highly recommend the Viewpoint Suite to all family and friends.

    For a relaxing and enjoyable vacation. Approximately 10 minutes south of Penticton, the property is only 293 steps from "Pioneer Park", Kaleden's water front park, offering warm water, a beautiful sandy beach, well marked swimming area, grassy picnic areas with picnic tables available, play ground, tennis courts, and a multipurpose court with basketball hoops. A washroom/changing room area is well maintained. This park was the reason we first moved to Kaleden, it is why people come here to visit. You will be renting the main floor and loft of our home (we live in a separate suite in the basement with our own driveway and entrance). You will have a 1900 square foot open concept home with three bedrooms, two bath, kitchen with granite counter tops, vaulted living room, and a loft area with a TV. Our Master Bedroom - a romantic sanctuary- featuring a queen size bed with a down duvet, large en-suite with soaker tub and separate steam shower. A gas fireplace is shared between the bedroom and en-suite. Garden doors open up to the hot-tub located on the deck so you can soak and stare at the stars. Two other bedrooms feature down duvets and share the main bathroom which has a separate tub and shower. The living room boasts 18 windows to the lofted ceiling, letting in a lot of natural light, to say the least. The house has central air conditioning and ceiling fans to help keep your stay comfortable and most windows are treated with solar film to help keep the sun's heat outside. The loft is quite a large area with a TV, Blu-ray player, cable with some HD channels. There is also a desk and chair. Some books and DVD's are provided, but we are not great collectors so it is a small collection. Please note that parking is limited to two vehicles, with no "on street parking". Trailers or motor-homes will not work on our street as it is narrow and fairly steep with no room for a large vehicle to turn around.

    Our home is situated directly across the street from the Penticton Safety Village, a kids playground, and a large park/ball field. Our home is surrounded by large maple and evergreen trees, and located within walking distance to downtown, IGA, coffee shops, restaurants, and Penticton Plaza which has a Safeway store, neighborhood pub, and government liquor store. We have a private backyard, 20 X 70 ft, all stamped cement, with hot tub, patio furniture, bbq, surrounded by a 6 ft high cedar fence. We have recently built a 10x12 guest house in our backyard, with a futon bed and upper bunk, which increases our sleeping capacity to 14 (8 beds). Our guest house also has an air conditioner, 2pc ensuite and an outside shower. The front yard has a courtyard, again all stamped cement, with chimnea (wood burning fireplace), another 50 inch Panasonic plasma TV, with DVD/VCR, and a nice view, great for a peaceful evening outside. We have also recently built a fish pond with waterfall in our front yard. Please check out our photos. We have Wireless Internet throughout the house and Shaw phone system which means you get "FREE UNLIMITED" calling anywhere within Canada and USA anytime of the day. ENJOY!!!

    Our large, newly renovated, 3100sq ft home is situated on a 1/2 acre landscaped yard in the Westbench. Enjoy the panoramic views of the city from the sundeck or the patio and relax in the quiet setting of our lush private backyard, filled with cherry, plum and peach trees, flower gardens and grape vines. Upstairs you will find 2 large bedrooms, the kitchen, dining room, living room, sunroom and laundry. The master bedroom and bathroom are newly renovated. Downstairs is the walk out to the backyard. You will also find 2 more large bedrooms, a recreation room, a new bathroom and workshop down stairs. Our home has a lot of storage in the workshop for your biking, skiing and golfing equipment and enough parking for your cars, boats and RV’s. There is a large quiet park and children’s playground a very short walk down the street. Our home in the Westbench is close to downtown Penticton, Okanagan Lake, the Ironman start and finish line, golf courses, grocery stores, coffee shops and the famous channel float.

    What a view. Situated just off the highway at the south end of Penticton on the north shore of Skaha Lake, is a new family home in the new luxury resort style community known as Skaha Hills. What you get: -an incredible view of Skaha Lake that can be walked to within 10 minutes. Our home is set on the hillside amongst Vineyards and just steps away from a Winery and Bistro (estimated opening date in spring of 2016). -a gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops and highend appliances. A Gas BBQ and a huge deck to enjoy meals, morning coffees, or a glass of wine over looking Skaha Lake. -There are 3-4 bedrooms in the house, one currently set up as a nursery, one master bedroom (king size bed), and two bedrooms (one with a queen, and one with a queen and bunk beds). The beds can be rearranged to suit your needs - the bunk beds can be moved to the nursery or downstairs living room, or left as they are with the nursery closed off. There is enough room to spread out yet still feeling homey in a modern home. Outside there is lots of lounging space, a small yard, a horseshoe pit, and room for other outdoor games. What Penticton has to offer: -the wineries. The beaches. The warm weather. A float down the river channel. Penticton is the perfect get away for a couple, family or group of adult friends.
