Veneto Accommodations

Buy a day-pass on the water bus, the Vaporetto and become acquainted with the 118-island city of Venice which was mainly built between the 13th and 18th century. Admire the breath-taking mosaics that line the walls of the “Golden Church”, the famous Basilica di San Marco. Explore the secluded canals of Venice and become part of the activities of daily life as you browse the shops.

Within the north-eastern quarter of Italy, the charm and beauty of the Veneto region will entice you to explore beyond the romantic city of Venice. The eastern shore borders the Gulf of Venice. To the north lies the Dolomite Mountains, with Veneto occupying the basins of the Po and Brenta rivers. Vacation rentals accommodation will give you the conveniences of home. Italian villa rentals, centrally-located apartment condo rentals, accommodations in a restored manor, country side cottages or a villa rental on a hill overlooking the valley or by the sea are the perfect holiday home.

Discover the islands: the glass blowers of Murano, the fishermen and lace makers of Burano and the old-world Torcello, where Ernest Hemingway wrote parts of Across the River and Into the Trees.

Montagnana is a well-preserved medieval walled city. Visit the Castle of San Zeno, and the Gothic cathedral with its Renaissance additions and shop in the older section of town. Take in the July choral music festival in the agricultural town of Mel. For a family holiday, a vacation rental large enough to accommodate everyone comfortably is ideal. Cook your own meals in the kitchen, or have a meal catered showcasing the local produce and flavours of the region. Many lodging accommodations have swimming pools. After a swim, relax on the terrace.

Hear an opera which is held outdoors in one of the largest Roman arenas in Verona. Shops line the pedestrian-only streets. The town of Padua is home to the university where Dante and Tasso studied, and where Galileo lectured. A boat trip on the Brenta canal will bring you close to Venetian style villas.

Surrounded by forest-covered mountains; gaze into the deep-blue waters of the 50-mile long Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake – touching the provinces of Trento and Bescia, as well as Verona - popular for swimming, sailing and relaxing. A villa rental or a condo rental is a popular choice for a vacation rental accommodation. Sail on the lake by Riva del Garda; head to the secluded beaches to the east of the main harbor. Take in the wind-surfing completions at TorboleImagine: You are entering the center of a town by walking over a bridge and through beautiful castle walls. Do so and you are in near-by Sirmione, walking on its narrow streets.

For your Italian holiday, villa rentals can be found on the website of Owner Direct Vacation Rentals. Vacation rentals are listed with detailed descriptions along with photos.

  • 120 Sqm Venetian Country

    Padua: Country style house
    3 BDR • 3 BA • Sleeps 8 • #246957
    150 to 150 EUR/night
Full equipped own kitchen, 3bathrooms, towels, bed linen, soap, washing machine, hairdryer, barbecue, TV, electric fan, 6 meters pool and parking in own closed independent garden with electrical gate. Monselice 4,00 Km, with high way and train to Venice 50 min. (minutes) and Padua 20 min., train every hour. Venice 50 min. Car. 6meterspool Monselice: 5 km, rail station, town wall and tower, Medieval castle Marcello, Romanic chatedral Montagnana: 26 km, medieval fortified town entirely walled up Padua: 20km, Padova, anglicized to Padua, is a city of visual contrasts. In a relatively compact area lie the narrow streets of its old town, the Renaissance grandeur of its main squares, the Byzantine domes of the St. Anthony shrine, and the broad symmetrical vista and statue-lined waterway of Prato della Valle. Just as varied are its tourist attractions, which include a prestigious university with the world's first botanic garden and anatomy theater, a frescoed chapel that is one of Italy's primary artistic treasures, and the burial place and shrine of one of the world's most revered saints. From its Roman beginnings, it was one of Italy's wealthiest cities, and in the 14th century, it drew some of Italy's finest artists: Giotto, Giovanni, Donatello, Paolo Uccello, and others who left the city a largesse of artworks. Verona: 80km, About halfway between Milan and Venice, Verona is one of Italy's most popular cities for tourists, who revel in its art, architecture, opera, and literary fame. It lies in the sweeping S-curve of the River Adige as it emerges from the Alps. Verona's Centro Storico, the historic center, where you'll find most of the attractions, is linked with the left bank neighborhoods by ten bridges. Because Verona is so often overshadowed by its glamorous neighbor, Venice, tourists often try to see it in one day, but there are so many things to do here that you'll want to spend longer in this charming city. Verona became a Roman colony in 89 BC and developed into an important town. There are several remains from this time, including the Roman amphitheater, and the city is equally rich in Romanesque churches from the 11th and 12th centuries. Verona was an important artistic center in the Renaissance and earlier, under the powerful della Scala family. You'll meet them everywhere, referred to as the Scaligeri. The leading 15th- and 16th-century architects were Fra Giocondo and Michele Sanmicheli, who were responsible for several splendid buildings and the bastioned town walls Venice: 50km, With a city as filled with tourist attractions as Venice, it's hard to know where to begin. Perhaps the best way is to simply get lost for a few hours wandering through its enchanting little streets and passageways, strolling beside its canals, and finding its secret corners. At every turn, you'll see something worth remembering with a photo. No matter where this exploration takes you, it's easy to find your way back to Piazza San Marco and the Grand Canal. Most of the best sights you'll want to visit lie around these two landmarks. Venice is divided into six sestieri, neighborhoods that have distinctly different characters.
