Victoria Accommodations
Find your next vacation rental in Victoria, Australia. The state of Victoria is located in the South Eastern corner of Australia and is home to the capital city of Melbourne. It is the smallest state in Australia – although bigger than the Australian Capital Territory found just north of the region. The state is the most densely populated of all Australian regions, particularly with 75% of residents living in the capital city. As a result, there are many accommodations to be found throughout the region and especially in Melbourne.
The capital city of Melbourne is often disputed as the largest city in Australia (up against Sydney for the same title). The city is known for its culture and art scene, along with its' delicious coffee shops and world-renowned baristas. The city core is filled with quaint alley way bars well-off the beaten track, which are a treat to find and explore. The visitor information center provides alley way maps so you can make up your own walking tour of the city. While the train is convenient to get around, there are frequent trams and buses that go anywhere you need to go in the city and surrounding regions. Melbourne is also host to a series of horse racing events in the Spring (October through December), including Melbourne Cup Carnival – four race days, including Melbourne Cup Day, a state-wide holiday! If you’re intending a visit at this time of year, be sure to book your vacation rentals early.
The rest of Victoria is known for its beautiful countryside, rolling hills and excellent surfing beaches along the south coast. The Great Ocean Road is a famous 243 km stretch of road along the south coast between Torquay and Warrnambool. It passes through famous surfing town Belles Beach, tourist attractions of limestone stack formations (the Twelve Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, The Grotto and London Arch), along with countless beautiful and peaceful beaches. Finding condo rentals along the Great Ocean Road is a great way to fully appreciate the scenic views, multiple tourist attractions and have a few relaxing days on the beach while learning to surf too.
Victoria is also known for its’ wine and vineyards throughout. Both the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula have numerous vineyards to visit, some where you can even find lodging within. Another fun thing to do is to see the penguins do their evening march in from the ocean on Phillip Island, just south from Melbourne. From surfing to bush walking, vineyards to food festivals, comedy to music shows, there is something for everyone throughout Victoria.
In terms of climate, the region also experiences it all. Melbourne is known for its four seasons in a day. In the northwest, there can be hot-arid temperatures, while the coast is more temperate and cool.
Vacation rentals and condo rentals are numerous throughout this populous state. Book your accommodations early to avoid disappointment.
