This was our second stay in this unit - first time was three years ago. And we'll be back. The unit has everything you need for a perfect vacation and you won't find a better location for visiting the Kona coast. The lanai is not large, but fine for two and adequate for four guests. And the view is unbeatable. Located next to one of the premier surfing beaches, this unit gives you a front row seat to watch the surfers. There was even a surfing competition during our stay. And we watched whales breaching every day. The sunsets are spectacular. The owner uses the unit too, so it is well-stocked with condiments and other essentials. It's only minutes from a shopping centre and from downtown Kailua. The large heated swimming pool and hot tub are a welcome bonus, as is the covered parking. Our party had two cars this time, and for the second car we appreciated the overflow parking lot adjacent to the building. The owner is meticulous in providing contact information for maintenance, housekeeping, etc. Very good security for entering the premises. And the WiFi works great. We love the place.

Located on the site of the old Kona Yacht Club framed on one side by the famous banyan tree surf spot, Banyan Tree Condominiums sit along side rolling surf as it washes over black lava reef and creates tide pools. You can't get much closer to the ocean than this.

The Banyan Tree is located between Keauhou and Kailua-Kona about 3 miles from each, and is about 20 minutes from the airport. The small quaint town of Kailua is a polynesian village of song and story, filled with many unique boutiques, shops and restaurants. Keauhou Bay has many tennis courts and is the home of several challenging golf courses on the "Big Island". The championship courses of Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani and the Hilton are a little more than 30 minutes away.
