Pros:
1) Located in a nice, quiet and beautiful area of the resort.
2) Spacious, in very good condition.
3) Kitchenware and bedding/towels/bathroom necessities provided in abundance.
4) Very warm, enjoyable fireplace.
5) Nice big flat screen TV and a pleasant sitting area in the living/dining room. There were 11 of us, and we all had enough space to be together in the evening without being overcrowded.
6) The owners are nice people.

Cons:
1) Our main reason for choosing this unit was that it was presumed to be a ski-in/ski-out location. It was a bit of a surprise to realize that it takes some effort to get to the skiing path, which was also not easy to find once you were out of the unit. Our expectation was different on this matter based on the website information. We asked the owners to explain how to find the ski-in/ski-out, but eventually ended up driving to the village central parking lot to start skiing and driving back to the unit. So be prepared that you cannot put your skies on once you are out of the door.
2) The unit serves better if you are a large group of young unrelated and experienced skiers (sport teams, etc.) who do not mind sharing the bedrooms and waiting for washrooms (upstairs there is only one small bathroom (with a tub, and a limited counter-top sink space) serving eight people in two bedrooms (six plus two). We were four separate families age 40+ and were more picky with the sleeping/washroom arrangements.
3) The hot tub is located far from the unit. You have to exit through the main door and go around and downstairs in order to reach it. We found this to be a bit inconvenient and less enjoyable compared to a typical location by the door to the living room on the balcony or patio that we have seen in other places. But that could be a matter of personal preferences as well.
4) The owners are always on-site, living in the same building (downstairs), and this is good and bad at the same time. Good as you can easily solve any questions/requests you may have - they are very nice people. And bad as you always have this subtle feeling of being watched all the time. It’s like living with the landlord type of thing.

The overall experience was pleasant, and I would recommend the unit to my friends definitely. I would also recommend the website to be more detailed/tuned about the ski-in/ski-out details. Maybe a map or something, and about the hot tub location so that people have their expectations matching the reality when they arrive.

Thank you for your comments Tatyana. We will respond to assist future guests as follows:

1. ski in/out is done and has been done for 15 years. You ski down Whitetail, cross Apex Mtn Road and catch the ski path directly to the village. 100 yards. Alternatively, the guests were shown the easement to get to the slopes. You cant get more ski in/out than that. To get home, they were told to take the Strayhorse Path. Their vehicles were in the driveway the entire vacation. What we noticed is a language barrier as these instructions were shared with 3 individuals in the party. Many complexes located in the village are a 10-15 walk to the ticket booth. This was also explained to Tetyana at booking.

2. Our chalet has hosted weddings, reunions, and couples. This party was also afforded the opportunity to bring their dog, in our more high end suite, a huge exception was made for them. At all times we let them know the bed make up including queens and single beds and these are very clearly noted on the Owner Direct website.

3. The hot tub is located under the beautiful skyline. It is as advertised in the pictures and not hidden in any way. This is the first we have ever had a complaint such as this. Our guests in the past, have been happy to get a hot tub, fully serviced nightly. On the positive side we are putting in a back door next year so you don’t have to walk through a fullly covered deck and down 12 steps to get to the hot tub. We apologize for not having a hot tub closer, but this suite doesn’t permit one.

4. We mentioned right at the outset we were onsite. Again their feeling watched is shocking. We provide snow shovelling service, firewood replenishing and hot tub maintenance to ensure their comfort and ABILITY TO RELAX. I wish your party had have said something. Again that is the only time we have been observed as shadowing clients. Had we have known we would have left shovels for them to use and left the hot tub unbalanced for your stay. We spent quite a bit of time shovelling as the time this party came we were having snowstorms.

Here is what the locals do in the Winter. . .
We wake up to breathtaking snowy mountain peak views. Access just how long it is going to take to eat and get out there for first tracks. We decide the courses. Just a five minute ski to the lifts and take the Strayhorse path home. After a day on the slopes, no one has to talk us into a hot tub to soothe our aching joints (we are getting older and there is always too much snow to shovel). Watching the snow fall with more expressos, and we often slip out for an evening skate on the outdoor skating rink. The braver ones taken in the hockey game at the outside rink. I personally love the Tube Park where you are guaranteed to take 10 years off your life, laughing alone, finished with a good book in front of the fireplace, or a hockey game on the television.
