    Our comfortable studio is now available for rent here on the beautiful island of Martinique in the French West Indies. We have just totally refurbished it with a new kitchen , and brand new appliances as well as all new kitchen accessories !!!!!! It is super comfortable and functional. There is plenty of square footage, decking, and yard space to move around in. Come and experience a taste of France in the warm Caribbean. Part of the Windward Island chain and nestled between the islands of St. Lucia and Dominica, it sits about half way between North and South America, and is served by many major airlines. Far away, yes but home to one of the best infrastructures in the Caribbean, as Martinique is still a French Department and benefits from that relationship. As a result we have great roads, hospitals, doctors, supermarkets, (with French foods and wine), and bakeries 5 minutes away for breakfast treats. In our small village of Tartane there are tiny grocery stores, a gas station, several restaurants and cafes and some small marches where you can buy local fruits and vegetables. You can also buy fresh fish daily caught by the fisherman of the village. It is located at the very tip of the peninsula we call the "Caravelle" which is the French name used to describe the ships used by Christopher Columbus who discovered the island in 1502. Directly in front of the house is our beach which we call "Surfer's Beach", and as you can see from the pictures of the surf, it is a name well chosen, although it is not the only surf spot on the island. There is also a SURF SCHOOL within walking distance where you can learn to surf and if you already know how you can rent boards there. Directly east, a few steps away, is the largest nature preserve on the island where you can hike and explore, visit secluded beaches, and discover the Light House with a view that will take your breath away and the Chateau Dubuc, the ancient ruins of farming family pioneers, who at one time owned the entire peninsula where they produced sugar cane for export to Europe. For hiking nuts, Mount PELE awaits to the north. It sits at an altitude of 1397 meters and is well known for its eruption in 1902 that destroyed the capital (at the time) of St. Pierre killing 30,000 inhabitants. Hikes near the volcano can range from a few hours to all day depending on your stamina. It's an unforgettable day trip. You must also visit the current capital of historic Fort de France where there are shops like Roger Albert, and others as well as impressive sights to see. One is the Schoelcher library, designed and built by Gustave Eiffel the constructor of the Eiffel tower. To the south are the beautiful beaches of Diamant and St. Anne offering a less mountainous version of Martinique, and white sand beaches. The hotels in the Tourist Area of Condado welcome visitors to use the restaurants, casinos and participate in hotel sponsored group tours. The Marriott Hotel will require a daily or weekly fee for use of the swimming facilities, exercise room, and tennis courts. There is WI-FI access in most of the restaurants and bars in the Condado Tourist Area. Planet Fitness is a little over one mile away. Beach chairs are available for rent at $5.00 p/day, beach umbrellas are $10.00 p/day. REVIEWS from previous guests: Great Place on the Beach- Have already recommended to friends. 5 STARS [The owner] was wonderful to deal with. My daughter and I stumbled upon the site at 3:00 in the morning the day we were traveling, sent an email and [she] responded very quickly. We were at her condo by 3pm and on the beach by 3:30. The condo is perfectly situated right on the beach on Condado Beach next to the Marriott which charged 3x the amount [the owner] charged me and within walking distance to many restaurants and stores. The condo was clean and spacious and provided a great ocean view and breeze with windows that opened the living room and bedroom up completely. It was nice to stay in a condo vs hotel room. Would highly recommend and have already recommended to friends and would definitely stay there again!! Perfect location!!! 5 STARS Great location right on the beach with spectacular sunrises!!! Fall asleep to the sound of the waves!!! It just doesn’t get any better. Overlooking the beach with the sound of the waves was the best. I spent most of my time on the balcony enjoying the view. Everything you need is very close and within walking distance. I did not rent a car nor did I need one. The city bus is only .75 to get to Old San Juan. We felt very safe there with the security level to get into the condo. I would highly recommend this condo over a stuffy hotel room any day. The owner ... Is very nice and accommodating, the condo is very clean.

    Located in Sunset Crest/Holetown (west coast of Barbados), the rental property is a cozy, comfortable, clean unit and is a 5 minute walk from the the public beach (see photo) and one block from the main beach road - Hwy 1 (with regular bus service to and from Bridgetown). The west coast has the calmest swimming waters in Barbados and is the only coast in Barbados where you don't have to worry about seaweeds on the beach. Sunset Crest is in the southern end of the town of Holetown, the 2nd largest town in Barbados (after Bridgetown) and provides all of the advantages that being "in" town has to offer. The condo has one bedroom with a queen size bed and air-conditioning (bedroom only). There is in-house high speed internet/WiFi. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils/dishes, fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, etc. The sitting\dining room has a very comfortable couch (that converts into a small additional twin-double bed), two separate lounging arm chairs, a ceiling fan, cable TV , DVD player and a CD-AM\FM radio unit. In addition, we have also added a washing machine at the condo (see picture #7) that is a feature rarely found in similar accommodations in the whole Sunset Crest/Holetown area. There are also a variety of books and games in the unit for your additional entertainment. There's a small breakfast\dining table with four chairs next to the kitchen. The en-suite washroom has a stand-up shower. The front enclosed patio has a table and chairs for lounging as well as a BBQ grill (charcoal) that can be rolled out to the front lawn when in use. There is also a private parking spot in front of the condo (for a rental car, guest parking, etc.). The condo is immediately next door to Sunset Mall that has a local bank, a large duty free store (Cave Sheppard), as well as other smaller shops. There is also a mini-mall across the street that has a convenience store and two different coffee shops (that offer free WiFi to customers) . Also, immediately across the street from the condo, there is a local food van that sells lunch from Monday to Friday during the week with local Barbados (Bajan) food such as chicken, pork, fish, etc., and has very reasonable prices that is a nice alternative from the more expensive restaurants in the area. A pay-as-you go local cell phone is made available for use by guests (use of phone is free, you are only responsible to keep your pay-as-you-go sim card topped up!) that will enable guests to make local and oversea calls (without incurring local roaming charges) and also to receive calls from family and friends from abroad and locally. Guests also get the use of an electronic access card for complimentary access at the local Beach Club swimming pool (7 min walk from condo - see photo) that has been recently renovated. There is also free WiFi at the Beach Club (password provided to guests once a booking is made). The center of Holetown is a 10 minute walk north from the condo with local services available like a large (brand new) supermarket, restaurants, clubs, a top notch health clinic and the high end Limegrove Shopping Centre with great upscale shops (Louis Vutton, etc.), a new cinema, restaurants, etc. The condo's location immediately near the beach, shopping, restaurants, 24 hr. Medical clinic and Holetown ensure that guests do not have to rent a car while in Barbados if they do not want to do so since everything is essentially within a 10-15 minute walk from the condo.
