Unique artist owned home in rustic moorish village in Andalucia, close to Malaga and 30 minutes from beach. For artist and writers and those interested in culture and nature. Rent either a nice but smaller bedroom with a full size bed, or a larger and very cozy studio with a view, a 115cm bed,+ pulloutbed) large table, easel, books etc, or rent both and you would be the only guests. Of course you also have full access to your guest kitchen, family room with dining table for 8, garden with sitting area, small pool (in season) and bbq, potters wheel, etc, as well as over 700 books mostly on art and philosophy, wifi, art, etc. The house is located on the edge of the small quiet village. One part is our private (w/our private rooms, studios, kitchen, bath etc). The other part is for guests. The garden is shared with us, and the big family/dining room is open to everyone (sometimes including Spanish neighbors). We are both artists and also work with local folk music and cultural history. People who come and stay are usually interested in arts, culture, nature and literature, hikes and a quiet and relaxing time. Featured in interior design magazine. Our place came about after over two decades of work as art teachers, university lecturers, course developers, coordinators, advisors and artists - in U.S. , Sweden and Spain. It is no coincidence that we are in Cútar, a white peaceful and genuine but unquestionably vigorous Moorish mountain village, established in the early middle ages. Southern Spain has a rich history. Centuries of respectful and unique collaboration between the various cultures and major religions have left deep traces in its art and way of life. Here one finds longstanding vibrant traditions, simultaneously with a strong commitment to contemporary art and expressions. This is where the north and south meet east and west.
