Memorable 3 day weekend at Eagle's nest We were a group of 6 (and an infant) traveling for a hiking trip to the Smokies. We had a very comfortable stay at Eagle's Nest. The cottage was a bit difficult to find perched as it is at a fairly high elevation. The rooms were quite comfortable and spacious, although two bedrooms had a recurring problem with the noise coming from the jacuzzi water pump throughout the night. The kitchen was important for us as we were traveling with an infant. It was well equipped and served our requirements.

View from the balcony was quite good, although the views weren't that good as we went in mid-April and there was still a good amount of winter hangover in the forests. Living room was comfortable, pool table was quite frequently used, both by us and by our boy.

Property was clean and well managed and the management were easy to work with. There were a few hiccups though (hot water tap in the sink was not functioning properly). I would recommend this place to others. Bad stay at Eagle Nest I would not stay at Aunt Bugs if the stay was free the next time. The view was block by trees. When we arrived the trash can were full. They were not dumped while we were there.
We had to pile up trash in the kitchen until the cam to get it. When we left there we trash in the kitchen for them to and get. The cabin was not clean they were pills in the bed room floor. What if a kid had found them. The price we paid was NOT worth the stay. the pix you see in NOT what you get. The are pools if you want to drive to there locations. They don't tell you that unless you ask. I could on on about the BAD stay. but I will put on face book and sources about our BAD stat with AUNT BUGS. I would SAY say at home rent a local hotel and shop lo9cal and you would receive better service a lot for a better price...........

A Great, extremely sunny view! The cabin was spacious, the large living area was too sunny for the mornings, the larger top windows really need to be tented darker. Really dusty and cob webs throughout the top. The room with the tub was extremely inconvenient, needs to be a shower/tub combo if you keep a tub.4 people had to share a bath because of that reason.

Eagles Nest #379 Overall we were pleased with our stay. The house was clean, had a beautiful view, and was in a perfect getaway location. You look down on the ski slopes and Ober Gatlinburg. The cabin has new clean carpet and hard wood floors. Lots of room to lounge in the upstairs. Pool table and TV are nice and the fire kept us toasty.
The cabin does need updates. The electronics are not what they should be. The DVD in the main living does not work. There are very old TVs downstairs in the bedroom with no working cable. When we arrived the garbage disposal was backed up and when you turned the water on in the sink it overflowed with nasty food/trash. We called this in but it was going to be a while before anyone could get up to the mountain to fix it and the stinch was horrible. Luckily we found a plunger and this helped but the smell stayed with us all weekend. We called the main desk re the stinch and also because we did not find a set of extra keys as we were supposed to when we arrived and each time I was put on a lengthy hold and eventually cut off and had to call back.
The showers downstairs are AMAZING- HUGE. The hot tub is clean and hot. The hot water inside the cabin however is hit and miss. They have 3 hot water heaters for this cabin and they were great for the showers downstairs but it takes at least 10 minutes of leaving the water running in the kitchen just to get water warm enough to wash dishes. By Sunday the water had warmed up enough to actually have hot water in the kitchen.
It does say fully stocked kitchen- but just know this means 1 dish towel and 1 wash cloth for the kitchen. Some of the dishes were put up dirty by other people so you'll want to bring your own dish washing soap- there is dishwasher detergent there.
Overall I would recommend but come prepared as there is no where close to run and get what you need. I am glad that the cabin was clean, and ready for your stay, and that you were able to enjoy the beautiful view this cabin has to offer its guests! Eagles Nest #379 (8-7-15 to 8-9-15) The last time I booked a cabin in the Smokies, I got average and the price reflected that and that was okay. This time our friends and I decided to spend the extra $80 a night for a "premium" cabin. The pictures on Aunt Bugs website certainly showed the cabin to be in tip top and almost new condition with a great view so we said sure it was worth it. The property was anything but premium. The condition of the cabin was down there with the average cabin I had previously rented but the website where I rented it from had pictures that showed it to be in the average condition we found it.

We felt that we were pretty well mislead by the photos, after all what else do you have to go on when you are deciding to rent a cabin unless you have prior knowledge or know someone who did.

The cabin was run down and in need of major maintenance on the decking and hot tub. For instance, the deck was a composite material but was buckled in several places; the hot tub was dirty and had no disinfection from what we could tell and we even went so far as to get some chlorinating tabs from the swimming pool area. The picture windows were dirty and one had a large crack thru it; the outdoor furniture hadn't seen paint in a long time and in at least every room, light bulbs were burned out; and the interior furniture was pretty well worn out as was the pool table. The view was very good, in one direction, but they don't show the proximity of the cabin next door which you see the big green roof of. Eagle's Nest #379 Review The cabin was very disappointing. The furniture had dust standing on it. The beds smelled musty. View from Eagle Nest #379 was Breathtaking, Cabin condition SAD! The cabin location (Eagles Nest #379) was excellent. Views of the Great Smokey Mountains was breath taking.
The cabin was not clean and it was lacking in general maintenance. Light bulbs not working, switches on lamps broken, Microwave above stove completely broken and falling apart, refrigerator seal on door not able to keep door closed and therefore food not kept cold enough. Kitchen sink drain stopped up. Slow drains in the bathroom showers. The most important issue was with the Gas grill on the deck, it was in such poor condition...there had been a fire in this grill previously evident by the entire bottom burned black and rusted. I reported the condition of the grill to management office and about my concern with trying to use this grill. A worker came to evaulate and he signed off the grill was ok. This was ridulous. I would not be surprise to hear about a cabin fire in the future related to gas grill is not safe to start, or to use.
Last issue has to do with the lack of supplies at the cabin. One roll of paper towels and toilet paper is not enough. Our cabin had no Kitchen towels or pot holders, so the paper towels went very quickly. I realize that Aunt Bugs Cabin rentals said to bring supplies; however, there should be enough to cover the days the cabin is rented. Also not enough trash bags were in the cabin. Rented for four days, only 3 small trash bags which were not good quality. Thankfully, I brought several large hefty trash bags.
The cabin needed a good general cleaning since dust and dead bugs were everywhere.
This was an annual Mom & Kids trip for my family. The three Moms did not expect spending time on vacation cleaning the premises...
It is sad that this beautiful cabin is not kept in better condition...We were disappointed...

I called the rental co., and asked to speak to someone in charge; the lady that answered the phone said she could help me; I explained about the worm and hair in the juzzici; she said she was sorry, that some of the cabins have well water and that is where the worm probably came from; said she would send housekeepping up. We were a group of 6 (and an infant) traveling for a hiking trip to the Smokies.
