Younger members of our family love the activity provided - hiking, swimming, cycling, bird watching, boating. The size of the home and property make it the perfect place for multiple generations to come together and enjoy the many treasures offered here. While you will appreciate 'being away from it all' on this very private property on Jewel Lake, a short distance away is the Christina Lake Golf Course, antique shops, restaurants, exquisite coffee shops/bakeries, and museums. You can take a sightseeing trip into the US, crossing at Midway only 20 min. Down the road. We also like to plan a trip to Osoyoos (1.5 hr. West) to visit some of the best wineries in BC. The four owners, all siblings, have spent a life-time of summers enjoying all that Jewel Lake has to offer. One of the owners lives on the property a distance from the rental home. For the Orient Express, you can take the chairlift up and head down the Czesc run which connects to the East Village Ski Way which will take you back to the Stone's Throw complex, but it also connects further below to the Mt Morrisey Connector run that will bring you back to the Orient or down to the Morrisey Express. For the Morrisey Express, there are a variety of runs that lead back to the base of the hill and from there it's either a short walk back to Stone's Throw, or hit the Orient and follow ski-in that way. The 16th hole of the Sun Peaks Golf Course runs alongside the complex, with some units even having a beautiful view of the green. In the winter this becomes part of the Hasta La Vista run which will also lead you back to the Orient. The next closest complexes are Settler's Crossing right beside, and just past that is the new Echo Landing. Under construction is the new Elevation complex which will be behind and above Stone's Throw. There is an underground parkade with an entrance under the higher numbered units. There is a small courtyard around the lower numbered units which is a No Parking zone but temporary parking for the purpose of loading/unloading is permitted for 20 minutes or less. Another loading/unloading No Parking zone is located between the parkade entrance and Settler's Crossing ideal for units numbered in the 20s and 30s.

Vernon town centre is a 20 minute drive from the cabin, and going south on Westside Road you can reach Kelowna in about 45 minutes. This is a very scenic, narrow and winding route that is very popular for motorcycles. The cabin is also approximately 1 hr drive via hwy 97 to the Kelowna Airport. A grocery/bakery/hardware/ladies/gas station (called Little Kingdom) store is located 6km south on Westside Road from the cabin, which has almost everything you'll need. For those bigger shopping needs it is recommended to drive into Vernon or Armstrong. There is a large mall approximately 15 minutes away. Spallumcheen Golf & Country Club is located just 8 km from the cabin. Located 1 km from the cabin is Newport Beach Resort, you can drive or walk via trail. There is also a marina for launching your boat for a small fee. There is parking for 3 vehicles at the cabin, also plenty of room to park your boat trailer during your stay. There is also a washer and dryer. We highly encourage renters to use the available recycling bins and composter.
