30th anniversary vacation Enjoyed the pool and house. Really comfortable home. a bit dated in the bathrooms with small showers. Close to everything we wanted to do. Heated pool made a real difference. Evenings on the patio cooking fish and shrimp were some of our best meals. Bikes worked great. Need a new beach umbrella, but the beach chairs were spot on. Nice kitchen. Internet was good if you need to catch up on e-mails. Master bedroom had two twin beds pushed together.

Interesting Rental with great outdoor space Pros: Pool and Outdoor area was fantastic. View and privacy a plus. House full of different artwork - you&#x2019;ll find something new every day. Close to bike trail. The TV in the kitchen came in handy. Everything important was clean. Kitchen was newer and leather couches provided a good space to relax. Island Rentals was easy to contact and helpful with questions about the area. We had no issues that required maintenance throughout our stay.<br/><br/>Cons: Artwork was odd. Waking up in the middle of the night to it was jarring. House had way too much furniture - One desk had 3 lamps and two chairs. Upstairs was hot at night - our kids slept on the couches downstairs. One shower was unusable as the shower head and curtain was only 3-4 feet high. All nooks and crannies and out of the way furniture were very dirty. House could use a deep clean. Oven mitts would be a nice addition.

Hidden Gem in a Private Location! Great spot to get away! Very private back yard, where you can watch wildlife in the lagoon or golfers on the course across the water. The house was very eclectically decorated and roomy. Perfect place for our week away.

22 Red Maple Loved the location, pool, provided bikes and chairs.<br/>Bathrooms could use updating, faucets hard to operate, large jacuzzi tub in master bath did not work.<br/>Window shades in at least 2 rooms were missing, therefore very bright for sleeping in early morning hours. <br/>Upstairs bedrooms stay warm until night and to achieve that downstairs thermostat fad to be set too low for downstairs comfort. <br/>I would recommend this property to friends after making them aware of the negative points.<br/>Mildew smell took until end of visit (with air-conditioning running constantly) to dissipate. Initially walking into home greeted by this smell and at least 8 Glade air fresheners on furniture was a bad omen.

Underwhelmed The house is a perfect getaway location<br/> Being from Florida, we are used to wildlife, but I would be very careful<br/> There was a large alligator in the pond<br/> Very close to the pool. As far as Island Rentals, I would never use them again. Travis, the owner did nothing to help us out with the cable we experienced. I left a message Friday for someone to call me because it didn't work. I never heard back and ended up calling Jay, the manager several times as well as Hargray, their cable provider. It finally ended with a very kind man letting me know at the cable company that someone had to come out. I'll stick with VBRO. They are reliable as this company was not. VBRO cares about their customers.

Nice house in great location The house was perfect for us. Comfortable beds. Nice furniture to lounge on. It was a little chilly for swimming, but the pool would be great on hot days.

Great location and pool, outdated home The positives: this house is located in the heart of the Sea Pines and just five minutes bike ride from the beach. It has an amazing view of the 17th hole of the golf course and a beautiful pool. The pool does get a lot of droppings from the trees so you do need to skim it a couple times a day. It is heated but we had to call to get the heat turned up, it took a couple days.<br/><br/>The downsides: The house is very outdated and in some areas in disrepair. Most people who would stay in this level of harm would expect it to be at the level of their own home. This one is not. All of the bedrooms have old mattresses. The only shower that really works is in the master and the door does not always stay closed. The other two showers have either low-volume or a showerhead that is attached to the wall at waist level, unusable. fixtures are original and what you would find in a public restroom. Jets in the whirlpool tub do not work. <br/><br/>The kitchen: this is the only area of the house that has been somewhat updated. However, the dishwasher is cheap rental unit type.<br/><br/>The decor is very odd and kind of creepy for young kids. There are lots of heads and faces hung throughout the house. There&#x2019;s also lots of extra furniture in every room. End tables sitting next to end tables. Lots of lamps and few of them actually turn on. In many of the closets there are furnishings just laying on the floor, like in the upstairs bedroom there are shower curtains on the floor.<br/><br/>We would not go back to this home unless it were a last resort. Unfortunately, we booked very last minute and this was only one of two homes available that time.<br/><br/>The rental company was also not responsive in the first couple of days. The lock to the home was not working because the battery was run down. We would continually get locked out. They did come fix it after they called us back on Monday. That you cannot get a hold of them on the weekend, which is when everyone checks in. <br/>

Summer 2021 The house was clean and comfortable. There were a few kitchen items not available which would have been helpful (e.g. pasta pot). The quick bike ride (10 minutes) to the beach was lovely. The pool was wonderful. Since it sits beneath many trees it requires skimming regularly but this was not a problem. The pool cleaners and gardeners came regularly. The view of the golf course & lagoon was lovely for morning coffee and evening drinks. The bathrooms were dated but fine. One shower on the 2nd flower really wasn't functional for anyone over 3 feet. I had requested an additional parking pass which was not included for check in which created some issues but was resolved the next day.

great location & lovely pool - but problems & mismanagement first the good things - great location, quiet street, large lot with lake and golf course views, lovely well maintained heated pool - adjusted to a very comfortable temp, nice beach chairs and bikes provided<br/><br/>the bad - this would be a great property, but either the owner and/or management has BADLY dropped the ball - for the price paid for this unit we expected better maintenance and conditions....<br/><br/>yard was not maintained (and it's obvious that was the case for several weeks) - grass was approximately 4" to 6" tall throughout and lots of tall weeds growing up through the patio and within most of the landscape beds - upon arrival it appeared that the house had been abandoned (all other yards in the area were well maintained) - i called maintenance and was told that landscaper was running behind due to a tropical storm two weeks before our arrival but would be asked to clean things up - that never happened during our stay so our grandkids couldn't enjoy playing in the yard<br/><br/>upon first opening the front door we encountered a heavy/musty odor - we treated during our stay with air spray products (but obviously a deeper problem)<br/><br/>air conditioning doesn't work well for the second floor - two bedrooms - must lower the a/c to overcool the first floor in order to make the second floor comfortable (even with the fans provided)<br/><br/>there were ants in the upstairs bath (one with mini-shower) and inside the oven in kitchen<br/><br/>we encountered dirty dishware stored in the cabinets -food residue from the dishwasher from a previous guest<br/><br/>if the dishware were clean, it would probably be sufficient, but there are only two teaspoons in the flatware drawer- really, two<br/><br/>need to provide four to six LARGE trash cans outside - cans provided were insufficient and too small<br/><br/>over the week the trees surrounding the pool created a bunch of litter in the pool - a mechanical cleaning device would be nice<br/><br/>should provide p

DISAPPOINTED The house was accurately depicted. It was pretty well cleaned but there were a few maintenance issues with the house and pool. We called for maintenance several times the first two days we were there but NEVER got a response from ANYONE. The pool was not filtering properly and so it was a little dirty. The property itself was OK and the location was good but we were very disappointed in the management company and Travis. Never got a response from either.

Summer fun!!! 16 June-23 June 2018 Great location and amenities. Short bike ride to the beach club which is sooo nice. Getting the passes in advance was a big help. Had no issues through the week.

Clean but Smelly The house appeared clean and neat upon entry. Nice location. However, there was a very strong musty odor. Not sure if there was mildew or mold or both. Whatever it was, was not good. Lost money on the experience by leaving the next day...we were supposed to be there for several.

Relaxing Nice house, great location. Peaceful quiet neighborhood. The bikes were a plus and availability to get around the paths was awesome. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues but not a big deal. The setting is extremely nice. Great, relaxing vacation for us and our 2 children.
