Perfect studio
The location is perfect. Many neighborhood local restaurants within walking distance. The studio is perfect for a couple looking for a place to stay without all the frills. There was a layer of dust throughout the place so apparently no one had been there in some time. We also had issue the television but the management sent a very nice young man (John) to look at it and came back within a few hours to replace it. Quiet building with easy secure entry. We would definitely stay here again. We did discover a local grocery store about three blocks away (Food Pantry) where you can buy groceries but they also have a fresh Sushi bar, grill (breakfast, lunch, dinner) you can take back to the studio or down to the beach with you) There is also a coffee shop. Overall we were very pleased with the location and how much we could do without a rental car.

Good location, but...
We stayed at this property for two weeks while on vacation in Honolulu. The good: The location was excellent - just a block from the beach, and a block from the bus stop. The Hospitality app, installed on my phone, was excellent, offering all the information you could need. The bed was very comfortable. The bad: You get what you pay for. There were plenty of issues. Upon arriving at the property, late at night, we opened the lock box to find that there was no key, as promised in the arrival instructions. We read that at least one other vacationer had the same issue, so this is definitely something that needs to be addressed by Ali'i Beach Rentals. We called Ali'i, but at midnight we were only able to leave a voice message (and never did receive a call-back afterwards). Fortunately, Dave, the property manager, happened to come by, and let us into the building. Otherwise, we'd be stuck on the street at midnight with no idea what to do. Now, for the condo itself: This is a "bare bones" condo, equivalent in size to a hotel room. The kitchen isn't badly equipped - having all the basics, but nothing more. The kitchen cupboards were extremely high, and thus we often had to use the step stool to get bowls or glasses. There is a very small round patio table with two plastic patio chairs, which really wasn't big enough to sit at for a meal. The water in the bathtub runs continuously - not a drip, drip, but a continuous - and very annoying - trickle. The noise from construction, tourist buses, and garbage trucks was insane. Construction at a hotel across the street started at 4AM, with the first activity being to exchange the huge construction dumpster just across the street from the condo. Backup beepers could be heard at any time, day or night. That was probably our single biggest complaint. A close second was the tiny ants that covered the countertop if we left any kind of food uncovered. They even managed to make their way inside a box of dry cereal, even with the inne

When we had an issue with the wifi, I was able to reach the rental company right away and they helped me fix it. <br/><br/>The only issue with the property would be the noise but that is not a fault of the property but the price of being downtown and near the beach. This was my second rental from Ali'i Rentals and I will use them again, even though this unit was a big disappointment. The location is close to the beach but it is a very , let's just say, dirty area. The unit itself is much smaller than it looks and needs a good going over. Carpet is very dirty and the unit is so small you have to lay across the foot of the bed to watch tv, or sit in a plastic patio chair. I gave Ali'i a list of a few things that need attention. They did come right over when I called them the first morning I was there. I think if the view of Diamond head wasn't as good as it was I might have left. I made do with the apartment but a good cleaning and a few repairs would make a big difference.

Nothing about this picture other than the round table in the room and the headboard resemble this rental. They are plastic patio chairs in the room to sit on. The bedding didn't match and the pillows were stained and wore out. There is no greenery in the suite. The carpet was the worst, old and said to be cleaned but stained all over it. Their is no blackout curtain behind the draperies, so you sleep in complete light because of the other hotels lights at night. The lanai furniture the chairs are plastic also. The lanai surface is chipped and dirty and needs painting. The bed corner was broken and we slept on a slant for 3 weeks. The tv should be mounted on the wall its stuffed in a wooden cabinet with the telephone. Convenient location yes but homeless and drunk people outside the building always. Stayed in this building before in a clean renovated unit. Found out we could of stayed at the queen kapioloni hotel of the pacific monarch for the same price and had service everyday. The towel in the bathroom was broken, we called beach rentals they brought a step stool and never fixed the bed or towel rack. Stayed VRBO always in Hawaii but never again her in the future, no service to checking in how we were doing in this horrendous rental. We paid over $3000.00 Canadian for a mess . I can't click on review, so I'm putting dissatisfied except for checking and out straight across the board.

Very positive ! I was lucky that I stayed in after the new flooring was installed . The floor was clean and easy to broom out the sand. Clean and well equipped unit . King size bed was comfortable , sheets were clean. Location was excellent , balcony view was amazing . There is no laundry inside the unit , only in the garage area there was no laundry detergent we had to buy and we left the it in the unit for the next guests. Overall Id recommend ppl to stay . Minor fix would be to change Bedside light bulbs because they won't turn on, lower rack of bathroom fell off my boyfriend placed it back but it's probably still loose . It's a bit noisy with renovations going on in other units, the street noise too but we didn't care we were so busy with activities and slept well after a full day of fun. It's a safe area . Yes the surrounding is a bit "ghetto" and lots of bums it may be a culture shock for certain ppl but don't worry they won't bother you! I grew up in a guetto neighbourhood and trust me I feel SAFER in Waikiki than downtown Montreal. I think what made my first trip to Hawaii so successful was that I did not have to worry about issues with the place I stayed . I'm glad i chose this stay . Thank you Ali beach rental !

Cute Condo for a Solo Traveler
I really loved this cute condo. The bed was comfy, and I loved that it had a bathtub as well as a shower. The full stove-top range plus microwave allowed me to cook a nice breakfast each day, and sit out on the balcony to enjoy an early morning breeze before taking a 3-minute walk over to the beach. Towels, beach items, and some small amenities such as shampoos and soaps were all waiting for me upon arrival. This really was a home-away-from-home, and I would highly recommend this studio for solo travelers, or couples. One detail that is very important (especially for jet-lagged arrivals like me) is that there are two entrances that have the address "2450 Koa Ave." The taxi let me off at the entrance with the address stenciled on the door. I was punching in the key code on the keypad that was on the door, unaware that this was the entrance to a small tour company. I went down the street to collect my thoughts at the McDonalds and make a phone call. I realized then that the taxi should have dropped me at the main door, where the key lets you in, and the keypad is actually on the door to the studio apartment on the 8th floor, not the main door. The other glitch came upon check-out. At 10 am I ran downstairs to get a last minute souvenir. When I returned to check-out, my keypad code was no longer valid! My taxi to the airport was to arrive in 25 minutes, and my purse, luggage and passport were all locked in the room. Fortunately I had taken my phone with me, and using the wifi signal through my locked door, I was able to connect to Skype to contact someone to let me in. It was a hair-raising 20 minutes or so being locked out right at the time I was to go to the airport. The company was apologetic and said they would look into why the code was changed before check-out time. Other than the keypad issues, my stay was excellent, and I would repeat it in a flash. Top reasons; Cleanliness, proximity to beach, comfy bed, full-use kitchen, nice balcony. Thank you!

The Rental Agency did replace the vacuum, TV, Hair Dryer, removed the garbage from the lanai, bought new wine glasses, coffee mugs and a 50 foot cord so we could sit down to make calls.the Condo Manager has been friendly and helpful. The washers and clothes dryers are outside in the parking area and are also very dirty but do work. When it rains you have to step in 4" water to put your clothes in the dryer. Honest Review
This is studio that you wish to keep to yourself, so it doesn't get booked out for your next stay.<br/>Booking from an overseas country you are always wary that something could go wrong. It couldn't be further from the truth. Alii Beach Rentals are very professional and I would not hesitate to use them again, they answered all questions and were always very helpful. The location is perfect, and the price is something you don't want to share with others. You are surrounded by other hotels that start at 3 times what you pay at Seashore and I guarantee you get the same view, but you have to pay for all the bells and whistles that go with staying at a named hotel. You are in a secure unit block meters from the beach. They have two elevators so you are never waiting to go up to the unit. When entering the unit there is a King size bed that was very comfortable to sleep in. There is also a kitchenette that can save you lots of money. We ate breakfast there each day and also when still in Waikiki had lunch there as well, by buying sandwich ingredients etc at the Food Pantry just minutes away or the ABC shop across the road. If you wanted you could also cook dinner there as well, with the stove top and microwave. The freezer does freeze up quickly but that wasn't a problem for our 9 day stay. The bathroom is older in style and a bit on the small size but again not a problem for our stay. I would stay again in this studio and recommend it to other travellers that don't want to pay for the overheads that other hotels make you pay. If anything you get much more from this studio than the surrounding hotels. PS You can't beat sitting out on the balcony during your stay watching the waves and world slip by.

Well stocked kitchen. Big microwave. Stove top heats up No dishwasher. Well stocked bathroom. Great water pressure and never ran cold. Bed comfortable. Good lighting. Elevator was quick and easy. We were on the 8th floor. The patio door was hard to open but we did mind much. Down stairs is where all and I do mean all the tour bus comes to load up. So you have that noise but only with the door open. And early in the morning they have not started so breakfast on the patio was really pleasant for us. The view from our balcony was not the greatest. I mean I could not see California but I could see parts of the ocean. But the location was ideal for walking to Waikiki beach. (One block). But this location does not have parking. Would defiantly use Ali’I Rentals again!!

Thanks for the input. The carpet was recently replaced, but we'll make sure it's cleaned much more often. Seems like the dirt gets tracked onto the light carpet very easily in this particular condo. Great location and great price
The location for this unit is great. Literally a minute walk to the beach in the heart of Waikiki. Easy check in information with the application. Did not have any problems with the unit. If you are an outdoors person like I am you can not beat the price and location. I spent most of my time adventuring through the island. If you like luxury this may not be suited for you. If you are staying in Waikiki everything is walking distance and won't need a car. Parking is very expensive and unit does not have parking. You can also take buses, shuttle or tours to all attractions.

spend your money on your holiday not on an expensive hotel room!W
If you want to save money and stay in the heart of Waikiki look no further than this condo. It's not 5 star but it doesn't advertise itself to be. It's comfortable for 2 people. It has a well equipped kitchen that we used every morning for breakfast and a couple of dinners. The bathroom is adequate with great hot water. The tv is in a cupboard on the side of the bed which is a little strange but again when you are paying $100-$150 less than the average hotel room you can easily make do. With a couple of minutes walk to Waikiki Beach and the ability to walk anywhere in the main area, this condo is perfectly located. Tip - it is extremely noisy <br/>(buses and rubbish trucks) so if you are sensitive to noise at night take ear plugs. The curtain that covers the sliding glass doors is also very thin and lets a lot of light through. If you are sensitive to light when you sleep it might be advisable to take an eye mask. I would definitely rent here again.
Response from Alii Beach Rentals ; Tuesday, August 4, 2015
Thanks for the honest review. It really helps our guests get an overall sense of what they're renting. We'll look into getting that thin curtain replaced. Waikiki is a busy city and with that comes the noise. Doesn't matter if you're staying here or a $500/night hotel... noise will be an issue. Anyways... hope to have you back! ALOHA!

Waikiki stay April 2015
The studio was as described. The kitchenette was useful and well stocked. The unit was cozy everything worked out as planned - receipt of the keys, availability of towels, cleaning supplies, toilet paper etc.<br/>However, the unit was not as clean as we would have liked. The carpet just felt "used" and the inside of the kitchen cabinets was somewhat dirty, which prompted us to wash all the dishes we used before we used them. There were enough dishes, cutting boards and pots and pans, however some of them were in pretty bad shape and I was afraid one of the pans may break because of a lose handle (which it thankfully didn't). Also, the pillows were very low quality and we questioned the cleanliness of the sheets as we found a few hairs and lint in them.<br/>Great location with a partial ocean view, very easy to walk to the beach and restaurants. The balcony, however, could benefit from being hosed off (bird poop).

Thanks so much for the input. The carpet was recently replaced, but we've decided to have it cleaned much more frequently. This place was not bad at all. Considering it was surrounded by other hotels in the area that I knew were probably hundreds of dollars more. You could see the ocean from the balcony and from the window right outside the room. My husband and I stayed here for six nights and it served it's purpose very well! We were never really in the room for more than just to sleep and shower anyways because the location provides so much entertainment! It was clean and honestly I have no complaints whatsoever! They even had two boogie boards and two beach chairs on the balcony for the guests to use! We appreciated that! They also had plenty of towels and even beach towels for our use! Our thoughts on The Seashore 81
Great location! Good partial views if Diamond Head and ocean! 2 minute walk to beach, and all other amenities within walking distance. The property management company was great to deal with, we brought the following issues to their attention upon arrival and they offered to have them taken care of while we were there. Carpet was stained which gave the studio the appearance of being dirty, it was otherwise clean. There are only 2 drawers for clothing in an armoire, which were broken making it a challenge to get your clothes in and out. The top portion of the armoire contained a small T.V. The shower diverter in the faucet was not working properly resulting in low water volume through the shower head. The bathroom is small, the kitchen is good if you do not plan to do alot of cooking as it only has a cook-top, microwave, and small fridge, it is well equipped for those things. It does have a very comfortable, new king-sized bed! We would stay their again, as for the most part it met our needs. As we chose not to have repairs made while there, hopefully they were addressed after our departure. They should consider a dresser with more drawers, and a larger flat screen T.V. to sit on top .

Great location to many eating establishments, and to attractions. The local folks we met on the street were always helpful and curtious. The Seashore 81 is a block off the main drag which ment for a quiet street. 3 major resorts were literly next door four a person to enjoy without the high price of having to stay there. We always felt safe and secure regardless of the time of night. An ABC store is located just a half a block west for essentails and a Food Pantry (a regular grocery store) is just a couple of blocks away. A car rental place just around the corner and scooter rentals within a short walk. For the 2 of us we enjoyed the stay and would stay there again.

Good Small Room, Great Location, Big Bed
Overall things where great with the property. It really is in an amazing location. Our other family member at different hotel usually came to beaches closer to us. The room is nice, but compact, but much of that is contributed to the king bed (the reason we chose it)! My only complaint is the general noise of Waikiki. We could have used the daily trash truck as an alarm both at 6:30AM and 7:00AM. Add to that the frequent tour buses, running and beeping, and it became hard to even take phone calls outside.

We stayed at 81 Seashore for 4 days and the location was great. Close to absolutely everything. The building is old but the suite is renovated and has a great view. It is a bit small but perfect for 2 people. You really don’t need anything more. The only odd thing was the weird stained carpet which you notice as soon as you walk in. It makes you think that everything else must be dirty as well. It wasn’t. Everything was really nice and clean and everything smelled like bleach. The kitchen is also very well equipped and has everything you need. We made a few meals even though it was so easy to just eat out. It is a great place to have as a base while running around town and the price is great.

From the lanai you have Dimond Head in front of you,to the right between some well placed highrises is the ocean. Great morning coffee spot.<br/>The space is smaller than it appears in the photo. Inside the Condo much better than the entrance, lobby, elevators
The photo depicts an expansive room with open lanai. Actually, it's an extremely compact room with a TV from the 80's, tiny, tube type, barely visible. Street is the parking for BIG tour buses, constant brakes, running engines, just below your lanai which makes it impossible to use the lanai. Building entrance is through a rather dark garage, small lobby, elevators and hallways are dirty. Tenants hanging out in the garage where the washers/dryers are were questionable at best.<br/>Traveling alone, I didn't feel safe until my door was double locked. Air conditioning unit noisy, but you had to keep it running or suffer the bus noise. The staff was extremely nice, right down to the maintenance man Barry, he was terrific. Location is great as far as proximity to the beach and all of Waikiki.

great location, perfect for 10 nights
Our stay at seashore was lovely. The location of the apartments is perfect, only a minute or two walk across to the beach. The apartment is a studio but had enough space for our luggage,we brought one large suitcase between the two of us (we are a couple), the only thing I would suggest is a bit more bench space to be able to put things on and perhaps a safe for valuable items. The view of the water is very pleasant, its not an amazing one but still nice! The balcony has plenty of space and a small table and chairs for 2 to eat at. Aircon worked well but was at times a little noisy. kitchenette was there but we didn't end up using it, only thing missing was a kettle to boil water for tea (there is a coffee percolator though). ABC store across the street and another on the next corner near the beach. Only complaints I would have about our stay was that we tried to contact the number we were given for Ali'i Beach Rentals on the day of our arrival and could not get in touch with anyone - just a voicemail, sent email too and no reply. We had flown in early morning on a Sunday which we advised, and wanted to find out what time we could check in when the cleaners were done, so were left waiting with no call about whether we could check in early. We also had problems finding the key and wanted to check with the rental team if we were looking in the right place. Note there is also no luggage storage so you need to arrange to store bags somewhere if you fly in early, we were lucky to store ours around the corner at a hotel but they wouldn't usually take bags from people not stating at the hotel.. Or you can use the airport service for a fee. That said all communication leading up to our stay was satisfactory. We would definitely stay again, the apartment is great value for money and a lot cheaper than the hotels surrounding. Our holiday was great and my man popped the question too! So all in all a very lovely first trip to Hawaii!

Small, yet convenient
Booked this rental online through . The pictures are a bit deceiving as far as the size of the rental goes. I was quiet surprised by how small the unit was - but it IS a studio apartment. Not much for storage, or drawers for clothing. On the plus side unit was very close to the beach - you can even catch a glimpse of the ocean off the balcony - and close to all things Waikiki. The unit is located inside a somewhat sketchy looking building, that had a mug shot of some local who was slashing tires of local residents. Cheapest parking we found was at the Waikiki Banyon, located about 2 blocks away, for $15 (24 hours). On street parking is hard to come by. <br/><br/>The carpet needs a good cleaning - it was very discolored and spotty. The bed was huge, and the kitchen had all you needed, if you wanted to do any cooking. Which you shouldn't - since Waikiki has so many restaurants nearby. <br/><br/>PROS: Close to the beach, shopping, dinning and all that Waikiki has to offer. Affordable. <br/><br/>CONS: No parking included, no pool, small accommodations. Building seemed a bit sketchy to me, but secure.

The Seashore, Unit 81
The Seashore Unit 81 is well located, one block from the beach in the southern, more "beachy" part of Waikiki. The building is only blocks from anywhere in Waikiki you'd want to go. Surf shops, restaurants and small stores line one side of the street, in contrast to other parts of Waikiki more developed with modern shopping malls and high office and condo buildings. It's one block from city bus lines that, with connections, can take you to most major attractions throughout Honolulu and Oahu. Kapiolani Park and the Ala Wai Canal path are close for excellent walking and running. Bike, motorcycle and car rental places dot the neighborhood. Unit 81 is a small living space. The unit is clean and comfortable, though the carpeting is a bit worn. The bathroom is small and has no counter space. The lanai has a nice view of Diamond Head and the ocean between surrounding buildings, and offers a welcome vibe where one might wish to take their breakfast or lunch or enjoy sunset cocktails. The kitchen is small and well-equipped, though only suitable for light meals. The unit is ideal for a single person or couple spending a short time in Waikiki and seeking an alternative to the big hotels. I throughly enjoyed my stay there.

When we arrived at the building the lock box had been moved and not updated on the printed directions so we had issue w/finding it. I called a rep from Alii and he responded within a few minutes. The maintenance man also called AND stopped by to make sure we had got in the unit okay. This situation was resolved quickly and in a professional manner. The unit itself was small, cozy and nicely decorated was just fine for two people (three is pushing it). They do have a blow up mattress for a third person if needed. My daughter who lives in Pearl Harbor Navy base picked us up from the airport and stayed/slept on air mattress a couple of times during our stay says it was comfortable. Kitchenette has nice counter tops, everything you would need to make a meal (stovetop) no oven. Small fridge. Brand new air conditioner. Cute little bathroom (no full bathtub) but nice shower. They have beach accessories out on the lanai for us to use. This building is 1/2 block from Kuhio beach, very short walk! I was down there a couple of times every day!! Great for swimming/lounging on the beach and free hula shows a couple of times during the week. Lots of good restaurants in the area and close to the zoo. The building is next door to a Mexican restaurant, blazing steaks and a surf shop.Farther down the block is Farmers market (Wed)and vendors daily inside Hyatt building. A short walk to shopping International Market place. ABC store on the corner. Food Pantry short walk for groceries. The street is relatively quiet. Lot of locals live in the area. Seems like it gets a little rowdy on the weekends but feels safe in room/building. A car isn't needed/recommended in this area. The cheapest parking my daughter found was 15.00 a night a few blocks away. If you want a decent, cozy, clean place to lay your head at night this is it.

I decided on this unit because of the view, my favorite spot in Hawaii, Diamond Head.

We stayed this summer at the Seashore and we really like our stay but the condo was really small. The furniture is too big for the space of the room. It was really clean and the location was perfect! There was only beach towels, no other beach in the condo. We have to buy a cooler!?! Because there was no cooler... We leave it for the next guest because we think it's disapointing when the condo you rent is not really equipped for vacation...

One never knows what your experience when you go of the beaten path and make all your own travel arrangements. While the building was a little aged, the condo was nice and we enjoyed it.

As we chose not

This little studio isn't a place you will want to spend a lot of time, but the location is good. It's noisy as the tour buses park on the street below. Also the curtains are not thick/dark enough to make it black at night. Would be a lot better with proper curtains. Otherwise quite well equipped. Oh yeah, would be better yet if it had a blender.

Very enjoyable stay. Room for improvement with tv. The screen was too small and the cable did not show many of the channels properly.
