eclectic home near Kona
So, this is a unusual property with essentially two parallel living spaces. There is a main house with two rooms upstairs and downstairs with a sitting area with a tv and a bathroom. a downstairs sitting area, dining area and kitchen. then a nonconnected master bedroom and bathroom next door. then their is a elevated lanai that is connected by a bridge and stair access. Overall the property is quite large and was great for two couples having plenty of private space. The ocean access is limited to the end of the street and is rocky, but there were nice beaches close by. Overall this would be a great place to stay for two couples or a family with kids old enough that they could be on their own. The deck is huge and their is a large area to sit outside to eat and a barbecue and hot tub. Overall service that manages the place was very friendly and very responsive -- a firearm needed a battery, the internet went out for a couple of hours (internet controls access to the TV as well), so the manager had the owner upgraded the internet next day. Overall, for a family or families who like lots of space this would be fantastic aBut, wouldn't choose if you want to easily walk to somewhere to shop/eat, or walk to the beach.

The perfect getaway
This home exceeded our expectations from the space to the management/concierge team. We had 2 families staying in this home for the week which included 4 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of space for everyone. We all had very comfortable beds and space and although the management offered extra blow up mattresses they were not needed. I also asked for extra towels ahead of time and they were there when we arrived. The home was extremely clean and welcoming upon arriving. We stayed for the week so there was plenty of space for groceries and all of our bags. We brought our own snorkel gear, and there were plenty of beach towels, umbrella, 2 chairs, and small kids floaties available. The layout of the property was so great for our group because when the kids were tired at the end of the day they could hang in the upstairs room and watch movies while the adults hung out on the lookout tower playing cards and chatting. (This was our favorite spot in the morning for coffee, and at the end of the day to relax.) Kids also loved running around the space catching geckos, and collecting flowers. The spa was a nice touch but was pretty hot to stay in too long. The management team was so responsive the whole time we were on the island. Huge shout out to Heidi who really treated us like family and kept checking in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. We had an issue with the air conditioning the first day and after I reached out to her she had it taken care of right away. The concierge was also very helpful. We really wanted to do the manta night snorkel and everywhere was booked. I reached out the concierge team and they found us something right away and it was booked. We were also very happy about the location of the home. We could walk right out the front and the kids loved running around on the lava rock looking for treasures. We were so close to some really great beaches for the kids, and shopping/restaurants. Love Kai Vista!

Lovely home
Great home base for our week on Hawaii. The house, yard, and lanai are wonderful. We watched the sunset from the Crow's Nest every evening, and I loved reading in the hammocks. The neighborhood is close enough to town to be convenient and just far enough out to feel "away." Since it was just two of us, we had LOTS of room. We'll have to come back with more family!

Great family vacation house
Our vacation rental in Kailua - Kona was amazing. Kai Vista was in a perfect location, not too close to the city, but close enough that if we wanted we could walk down for happy hour. Kai vista easily slept 6 adults, the kitchen was well stocked, and well organized. We cooked almost every evening, and ate outside under the stars. The hot tub was a bonus every evening, and the crows nest was perfect for viewing the amazing sun sets. The property itself was very clean when we arrived and easy for my mom to move around safely. We really never had an issue with Kai Vista. We did call Heidi one day to check on the trash service and she responded immediately. We can hardly wait to return.

This makes it more accessible for the 7 people we had in our party.

The master bedroom was dark. The windows and doors were made with screens and shutters. Know what you're getting into before renting a property
The house was very nice and clean, but we were under the impression that the house was air conditioned. We really needed that. There is no air conditioning and it was uncomfortable in the house. We had 2 small children and a senior citizen who needed air conditioning. We couldn't get cool after being outside. Also the tv's weren't working and we had to call the management company to have someone come out to fix them. The repair man was there for over half and hour trying to get it fixed. Then the tv"s went out again a day later. One of them never came back on. We were only there for a long weekend and the amount we paid for the rental was expensive for having problems with the tv's. Also, the house is at the end of the street. It was a not a through street. There was a very loud party in the house across the street from us. The party 2 nights in a row. Because of not having air conditioning we had to have the windows open. We couldn't sleep for 2 nights because of the loud noise. We also had our car sideswiped by someone from the party. We came out the next morning and found it damaged. The repair bill to fix the car cost 755.00 that we had to pay it. We rented the house because my daughter was getting married and all of this just wasn't a good experience. I don't think we'll ever stay there again.

Aloha Michelle, Please accept our apologies for the troubles you encountered during your stay at Kai Vista. We must say that it is rare for homes in Hawaii to have A/C because typically the trade winds keep things cool. We have had an exceptionally hot summer which obviously contributed to the increased heat in the home. We will be sure to share your thoughts with the owner and look into investing in some more fans. We hope that your family enjoyed the wedding and we send our well wishes to your newly married daughter. Kindly, Hawaii Life

Family goes to Hawaii
We enjoyed the close-in spot near Kailua-Kona; it was only a mile into town but along a busy stretch of road which wouldn’t be good for families with small children along. Facilities were in good condition, with enough counter space for a person to get out a meal for 5 people, as long as the meals were simple. Great living room and eating area for a medium sized family, though we spent a good deal of our time in the ‘tower’ overlooking the water. The construction site in photos does not have any activity. It appears that it was an intention not followed up on. There is some kid noise from across the street, but golly, it IS a neighborhood. It didn’t bother us at all. Decent parking for two cars. Strange collection of kitchen utensils, but plenty of eating utensils.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful property! The house was perfect-enough room for our family-which include 2 active boys. We watched the Dolphins and whales from the lanai. The boys loved chasing the gecko's and having room to play in the yard. The hot tub was wonderful to unwind in. The location of the property was great- A quiet street -only sound was listening to the ocean crashing against the rocks. Thank you again.

The house is gorgeous, even better than we imagined ! The location is perfect, quiet yet still close enough to downtown area ! It was just three of us so we had a lot of space..cant wait to come back with more friends and family ! So clean and comfortable- way better than a hotel !

This home is lovely, and all that we could have asked for. It was very
clean & well equipped. The master suite in a separate building was
a nice touch. We spent lots of time in the tower enjoying the wonderful
ocean view and breezes. Star-gazing at night was great. The proximity
to the shoreline is wonderful, we fell asleep to the soothing sound
of the surf. A great vacation home!!
