THE PRICE WAS FAIR, THE VIEW FANTASTIC, APPLIANCES ALL FINE What we loved - 6th floor location - great views of whales in morning and sunset at night. Really nice balcony we enjoyed very much. Also the location is great. Beach across the street is GREAT for snorkling, swimming, body surfing, sun lounging. Sand really fine and soft. Also breakfast place on street and Moose's for easy restaurant access. <br/>This condo is a great deal. Sure it wasn't fancy, but bed was good, dishwasher, fridge, washer dryer all worked. Had things like rice cooker and coffee pot we used lots. Stove and microwave worked good. Shower old tile but clean, slightly damaged fixtures but they worked. NO AC but we didn't mind as nice breeze flows from bedroom to living room being on the 6th floor. We didn't expect anything fancy and it was not fancy but we did expect it to be functional and clean and for the most part it was. There were dust bunnies under the dressers we had to move due to item falling behind it, but no cockroaches, no stinky things. <br/>What we didn't like- 10am check out time sucks. It should be noon. Also pull out bed mattress needs replacing. TV's and cable were hard to figure out to be sure. We have stayed here before and know it is well kept property with good security, beautiful landscaping, good parking, great location, fantastic views from 6th floor. We love this place for the price we got it at it was the ONLY deal left on maui. Everything else in Hawaii has gone crazy in price including 150 resort fees at hotels for one night, and 9$ for a loaf of bread?!!! Taxes and resort fees, and restaurant and food prices have made Kihei VERY EXPENSIVE. Our Condo was a fair price and we really appreciate that. NOTHING ELSE IN HAWAII IS PRICED FAIRLY THESE DAYS, so we will probably go to Fiji next trip, but we could not complain about the condo. Pool bbq's are good, pools good, parking good. Easy to get to. There are nicer places around but for the price this place can not be beat as far as this cowboy is concerne

Comfy cozy in a fab location Very happy! Basic but comfy accommodations and the location is awesome. You practically have your own private beach and shops, groceries, restaurants are in easy walking distance. FOR THE PRICE, I EXPECTED BETTER, BUYER BEWARE Over the last 15 -20 years we have stayed in many different units at Kihei Akahi. The loacation is perfect for us with the proximity to the KAMAOLE BEACHES, and we love the grounds. D604 was in the worst shape of any we have rented. The frontdoor fram is splintered, screws stripped out of doorknob and some hinges. It was a battle to get in the frontdoor everytime, until I pulled the screw out and just used the deadbolt. The cleaning fee has about doubled in the last 2 years, the place was not very clean. Sheets were very stained.Beach towels fraying, Everything so worn and tired. reminded me of my first apartment, nothing matched. The lanai is the best part of this unit. We called Hawaii Life, they referred us to the local host Lara. She was very apologetic and offered to line up repairs while we were on island. This was a very short trip for us, only 5 days. All 5 were precious to us, and declined that offer. Lara informed us that this unit is scheduled to be renovated later this summer. I would avoid this unit until then.<br/>Lara was empathic and understanding of our situation. She is an asset to the company and the renter. <br/>On a side note I emailed Hawaii Life and asked if this unit had beach gear (chairs, cooler). They responded that it did not. I rented a gear package from Aunties snorkel. There are chairs, umbrella and cooler in the closet, just saying. unbelievable view! I've traveled to Maui for over 20 yrs and this condo has the best view I've ever seen! Your view from the lanai is from the West Maui Mtns all the way down to the hill by Big Beach! Spectacular for whale watching! <br/>The unit itself is a bit dated, but who goes on vacation for appliances?! Overall, everything was clean enough and functioned well. There's also a nice assortment of spices and a rice cooker, both of which are surprisingly rare in vacation rentals! The only drawback is the lanai could use a sunshade, as in the afternoon, the sun is shining directly on you. Hoping one will be added soon, along with a keypad entry (physical keys can be a nuisance on vacation!).<br/>I've stayed at different units in the Akahi, you cannot beat the location. Great View Condo was great but very hot in the afternoon due to the lack of air conditioning. Other then that we enjoyed our stay. Million dollar view. Spring Time in Maui. We had a mainly positive experience in Unit D604 at Kihei Akahi. The location is fantastic and the view from this top floor unit is incredible.This whole property is clean and well maintained. Unit D604 has everything needed for relaxing stay but is definitely in need of updating. We visited friends staying in other units and it is obvious that this unit hasn't had much changed since it was built.The patio door is hard to move and obviously needs new wheels installed. There were 2 old folding lawn chairs that need to be replaced as the webbing is rotten. The bedroom is very bright and could use curtains on the windows. These are items that that could easily be addressed.Overall, though, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return if these things were addressed. Kihie Akaha D604 Great view, great location. Condo was a bit out dated and priced appropriately so I am ok with that. The condo could have been cleaner. Had bugs when we checked in, we cleaned outselves, stayed 19 days and bugs did not come back.

Great condo Perfect location, view is even better than the pictures. Loves watching whales from the balcony. Easy check in, quiet. I have a bad back and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Great views and convenient location This is a great little apartment with fantastic views. It was our home for two months and we were very happy with it.<br/><br/>The town of Kihei is a bit of an endless strip mall, only it's right by the beach. You'll need a car to go most places but there are a number walkable and bikeable establishments nearby.

Beautiful Views! Gorgeous sunset from the 6th floor lanai.....high enough to have a wonderful view -- lower floors see buildings.....across the street from Kamaole 3 beach, but far enough removed not to hear the street noise. Boogie boards, beach chairs, two different sized coolers made for enjoyable day trips. Come experience Kihei at it's best.... D604 At thé Kihei Akahi great experience We just finished staying for 30 days at Kihei Akahi. 9 days at D507 and 21 days at D604. For D507 I would not go back because the carpet is so dirty I wish we did not start our vacation there. In D604 it was really nice, clean and nice furniture. The coffee maker needed replaced and Patti the property manager responded and replaced the machine. The only complaint we have is the screen door on the lanai has many holes in it so the bugs at night were too many.<br/>We certainly would love to rent that unit again if possible. my back hurts ! the bed was so bad I sleep on the floor and the couch was no better but if they get new bed or couch I would rent this place again. Great views from lanai Our stay was very good. Good location, close to everything. The condo needs a little updating, the screen door on the lanai needs a little work done to it but overall we were very pleased with everything. I would recommend this condo to anyone. Kihei Akahi This property has a fantastic view, the main reason I stay at this complex for the past 20 years. This was the first time I stayed in this condo. It provided every amenity you'd need in the kitchen, the bed was very comfortable, linens and towls were fine too. The property does nedd a good cleaning tho, and could use a few update. There is NO air conditioning in this unit, and the thin white drapery does little to block the full afternoon sun.... a pull down sun shade would help immensely. Hawaiian Family Vacation Everything was fabulous except for the toaster. You had to hold down the handle the whole time to toast the bread. The only other things would be maybe a third Tommy Bahama chair. The condo needs a little updating but very reasonable for the price!
