GUEST RENTAL AGREEMENT


You must return this contract within 7 days. After we receive the contract and your total payment we will send your check in instructions and emergency contact information. DO NOT GO TO KAUAI WITHOUT YOUR CHECK IN INSTRUCTIONS.!!

When paying your balance, we offer payment by credit card but must charge a 3% service fee. We therefore encourage you to pay your balance by check. If payment by check is not received by the balance due date, we will charge the balance plus 3% convenience fee to the guest credit card on file. Please make check payable and mail to The Property Manager. (The 3% service fee does NOT apply to your initial deposit, nor is it charged to non-US residents.)

Imminent arrival: All reservations made within 30 days of arrival will be charged in full to guest credit card provided at the time that reservation is made. The 3% convenience fee does not apply to reservations charged as imminent arrival.

This agreement and the reservation transactions accomplished hereby are deemed for all intents and purposes to be entered into in El Paso, Texas. Further, any and all deposits or payments received hereunder shall be deemed for all intents and purposes to be received in or at El Paso, Texas.

All occupants residing in the unit are required to be listed below. (If any occupants are minors, please include age).

SECURITY DEPOSIT: For all CONDOMINIUM rentals, tenant expressly agrees that tenant's credit card is kept on file in lieu of a security deposit. The use of tenant's credit card to reimburse for damages, missing items or extraordinary cleaning after check out is expressly authorized by tenant and tenant's signature on this contract shall expressly authorize tenant's credit card to be charged for damages and expenses outlined on this contract, including but not limited to: Any long distance telephone charges (including service charges), loss, or damage to the rental property and reservation date changes can be charged to your credit card. This may include such things as damaged or missing internet modems; excessive laundry/cleaning or rearrange moved furniture; loss of rental unit keys; garage door openers; replacement of missing items; soiling of linens, carpets, towels; misuse of items belonging to the property and late check-out fees (a late checkout can incur a charge of 1 full night rent and taxes). Guest(s) is required to pay any for loss or damages to restore property condition to original state.

SECURITY DEPOSIT PROTECTION: For all rentals, this Security Deposit Protection plan covers unintentional damages to the rental unit interior that occur during your stay, provided they are disclosed to management prior to check-out. The cost of the policy is $35, and is collected by THE PROPERTY MANAGER in lieu of a cash deposit. The policy will pay a maximum benefit of $1,000. Any damages that exceed $1,000 will be charged to the credit card on file. If, during your stay at one of our Rental Properties, an Insured Person causes any damage to real or personal property of the unit as result of inadvertent acts or omissions, the Insurer will reimburse the Insured for the cost of repair or replacement of such property up to a maximum benefit of $1,000. Payment for security deposit protection is
due in full at the time of reservation, and is not refundable.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL DAMAGE MUST BE REPORTED TO THE PROPERTY MANAGER BEFORE DEPARTURE. In order to honor a claim under the damage waiver fee guidelines, Agent must be made aware of any damage prior to check-out. All damage reported prior to departure will be covered, payment for damages not reported will be the responsibility of the guest. By initialing,

PAYMENT: Full/balance payment is due no later than 30 days prior to check-in (60 days prior for Christmas/New Year's and all bookings of 14 nights or longer). Reservations not paid in full by the final
balance due date shall be subject to cancellation and forfeiture of funds. If a reservation is made within 30 days of the reservation check-in date, full payment is required at time of reservation.

RETURNED CHECKS: If any portion of Guest's payment is not honored by the bank, Agent reserves the right to require payment to be made by wire transfer, certified check, or money order, or to cancel theGuest's reservation. In addition, the Guest must pay a $35 service charge.

CANCELLATION/REFUNDS: For cancellations prior to 60 days of your contracted check-in date (90 days prior for Christmas/New Year's and all bookings of 14 nights or longer) your deposit will be refunded, less a $50 processing fee. The $25 reservation fee is not refundable. The $35 security deposit protection is not refundable. Cancellations 30 -60 days prior to arrival date (60 -90 days prior for Christmas/New Year's and all bookings of 14 nights or longer) will result in forfeiture of the reservation deposit. Cancellations after contracted full balance payment due date will forfeit full rent and taxes (unless dates can be re-booked in which case a 10% rebooking fee may be charged). Any unused portions of the contracted reservation dates are non-refundable. Any interruption of services within the property or inclement weather during your stay will not serve to void or cancel the rental agreement.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: We advise all Guest(s) to secure travel insurance for your protection in case you have to cancel this reservation due to any unforeseen event. Because the unforeseen and unexpected can occur before you leave or when you’re away from home we recommend CSA’s Vacation Rental Insurance Plan. The premium for Vacation Rental Insurance can be included in the cost of your rental. Vacation Rental Insurance reimburses for pre-paid non-refundable expenses due to certain unforeseeable circumstances that may cause you to cancel, interrupt or delay your trip. Travel insurance premium is due in full at the time it is elected, and is non-refundable. Directions and General Information will be forwarded following receipt of full payment and completed, signed Vacation Rental Agreement. The cost of Travel Insurance is 6.95% or your total reservation cost. If you do not wish to purchase Travel Insurance, please intial below:

OCCUPANCY: Only members of the rental party may stay at the property. All members of the rental party must be listed on the first page of this agreement. Please note that infants and children of all ages count as Guest(s). Guest(s) must immediately notify Agent by phone and in writing if the number of occupants changes. Additional charges may apply. The premises shall be used for residential vacation rental purposes only. Special events such as parties, receptions, etc. shall not be allowed without the express written consent of Agent. You shall not use the property for filmmaking, photo shoots or other commercial use, nor for any unlawful, improper, or offensive use.

NO ASSIGNMENT: Over-crowding or misrepresentation is grounds for immediate eviction without refund. This unit cannot be sublet or assigned to others.

_____ LOST KEYS: I understand that there is a $50 replacement charge for a lost (or unreturned) pool key or a lost (or unreturned) door key. (Note: not all properties will have a door key, if they are equipped with a keyless entry system. There are no pool keys at Sealodge or at our private homes.)

_____ DISCLOSURE & INDEMNITY: For purposes of the Disclosure & Indemnity, the following definitions shall apply: Premises refers to the real property, its contents and related amenities rented to the Guest(s) pursuant to the Vacation Rental Agreement; Guest(s) refers to the person or persons occupying the Premises, including members of Guest's family and any and all guests and invitees thereof; Owner refers to the legal owner(s) of the Premises. Guest(s) acknowledges (if applicable to property rented) the existence and dangers associated with but not limited to; hot tubs, BBQ, pool, sauna, gym (workout facility) and equipment, rivers, lakes, bluffs, lofts and ladders. In light of the foregoing, Guest(s) agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Owner, its employees and The Owner, the Property Manager and other agents from and against any loss, liability, damage or expense (including legal fees and costs) which Guest(s) may suffer, sustain, or become subject to as a result of, or in connection with, any injury arising from or related to Guest's use of any of the above mentioned.

_____ NON-LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION OF OWNER AND AGENT: The Owner and The Property Manager and Owner are held harmless and will not be held liable or responsible for any disasters, acts of God, accident, or unforeseen event that may affect the vacation rental. Guest(s) agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Owner and Agent from any and all costs, expenses, legal proceedings, legal fees, suits, claims, or demands, whether from loss of life or injury to Guest(s) and/or invitees of Guest. Guest(s) accepts responsibility for the acts of his children and visitors. The Owner and The Property Manager and Owner are not responsible for articles lost, stolen, or left behind in the unit and are not liable for any damages to persons or their property while at the rental property. The Owner and The Property Manager acts as an Agent for the Owner; Owner's discretion prevails. If The Property Manager cooperates with another agency in securing the rental, we will not be held responsible for their course of action. If the property is near a golf course you assume the risk of being hit by a golf ball and will not hold the property owner or the Property Manager.

_____ SECURITY OF HOME & RENTAL EQUIPMENT: Guest(s) assume full responsibility for the premises rented, including its contents and their own personal property. Always lock the doors and windows when you leave. Lock your automobiles and put away any rental equipment. Use of rented equipment by Guest(s) is strictly at your own risk and could cause liability and/or additional expense. The Owner and The Property ManagerKauai Service is not held liable or responsible for any loss, damage or additional expenses incurred; nor does The Owner and The Property Manager endorse any suggested or recommended activities and/or services to Guest(s).

_____ CONDITION OF PREMISES: The property and contents are privately owned. The Property is rented with Owner's furnishings and The Owner and The Property Manager will not be responsible for providing additional furnishings or equipment. No items belonging to the Owner shall be removed from the property. Should any equipment be out of order (including but not limited to hot tubs, washing machine), Agent will undertake reasonable efforts to remediate reported problems during normal business hours. Please keep in mind that being on a remote island can often delay (unlike the mainland) the receiving of parts and repairs. There will be no refunds for such inconvenience. Guest authorizes The Owner and The Property Manager or property Owner to repair damages or loses caused by Guest or invitees of Guest, at the expense of Guest. Guests are required to notify us of any defects or problems associated with the property immediately including but not limited to, appliances, audio/visual equipment, furnishings, hot tubs, jacuzzis, and pools, etc. Please be careful with items that you put down the garbage disposal. At home you might be able to put skins or vegetable leaves down your disposal but the one in your rental may stop up. We ask that you be very cautious. Also, please do not turn the dial on the refrigerator colder than the recommended setting. Doing so will cause the appliance to shut down. If you stop up the disposal or cause the refrigerator to stop working we will need to charge you for the service call.

_____ ACCESS TO PREMISES: Owner or Agent may enter premises for the following reasons: Assessing damages or malfunctions, to perform repairs and/or maintenance, to supply services agreed upon, if the unit is for sale (We will provide 24 hours notice to show the unit at a reasonable hour), or in case of emergency. (We reserve the right to enter the property any time for the purpose of safekeeping and/or prevention of further damage)

_____ NEIGHBORHOOD CONSTRUCTION: We are not responsible for any construction noise or inconvenience that may occur during your stay. No refunds will be given.

_____ CHECK-OUT PROCEDURES: The property should be left in the same condition upon departure as at check-in. When checking out :
• Leave the home neat and tidy
• Put all perishable food items in the refrigerator
• Wash all dishes
• Turn off all lights, fans, air conditioning
• Lock all windows, louvers and doors
• Leave the keys where you found them at check-in
• Leave no more than one set of linens per person and one set of sheets per bed for laundering.

_____ SMOKING: All properties are smoke-free. Guests may smoke outside only. Please dispose of all smoking materials appropriately and do not discard on the grounds.

_____ PETS: Pets are not allowed in the home or on the property.

_____ RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE OCEAN: There are certain inherent risks to persons and property as occupants of property located near the ocean, including but not limited to damages to persons or property from high surf conditions and drowning. Guest(s) acknowledges that the Owner would not rent the property unless the Guest(s) fully accepts the risks associated with the property and its location.

_____ CLEANING: The cleaning fee is mandatory. Mid-stay cleaning(s) may be required for extended rental periods at Guests expense. Maid service is not included (unless otherwise stated). If you would like additional maid service, it can be arranged for an additional cost. Cleaning fees are subject to change. Guests staying in houses must remove trash to the street once a week. The trash pick-up is early in the morning; therefore place your trash on the curb the evening prior to pick-up. Trash cans must be brought in following the pick-up.

_____ ENERGY CONSERVATION: Please be energy conscious by turning off lights, fans, air conditioning, TVs, radios, etc., when leaving the unit. Also please use laundry facilities sensibly and with consideration.

_____ DISPUTE RESOLUTION: Any dispute must be governed by the laws of the state of Texas. In addition, disputes must be resolved in the jurisdiction of courts of the state of Texas (unless stated
otherwise in property rental terms or at owner/agent request).

_____ SUBJECT TO CHANGE: Advertised amenities are subject to change without notice or compensation. Changes can occur after a reservation is made due to a sale of unit, remodeling,
mechanical failure, or servicing. Should a property be made unavailable for any reason beyond the control of Agent, Agent may substitute (at their discretion) another property comparable or better. If the substitute is of lesser value, refunds may be made. If no other property is available, the limit of liability by property Owner or The Owner and The Property Manager, is to refund any pre-paid rents that have been paid by the registered Guest.

_____ MULTIPLE PROPERTY BOOKINGS: Because all properties are individually owned, we kindly request that you do not take items to other properties from your rental or accept items brought to your rental from other properties. This includes, but is not limited to, beach towels, linens, lawn furniture, kitchen dishes, glasses, cups, kitchen utensils, etc. The owners wish to have their own items in their own unit. It can become costly to replace these items (and this may incur an additional fee charged to your credit card).

_____ RULES, REGULATIONS, AND LAWS: Guest(s) will take all reasonable steps to assure that property occupants adhere to the Rules, Regulations, and Laws that affect the property, Homeowner's
Association, The Owner and The Property Manager, and the State of Hawaii. Guest(s) shall not permit any use of pools, hot tubs or Jacuzzi by Guest(s) affected by drugs or alcohol or unsupervised children. All pool gates should be kept closed. Guest(s) and other invitees shall use pools and Jacuzzis at their own risk and at the responsibility of the tenant (applicable if amenities are provided at property).

_____ DISCLAIMER: We are not held responsible for any noise pollution including construction outside the perimeter of the property. All information deemed reliable but not guaranteed. Any breach of contract can cause immediate cancellation and forfeit of funds.

_____ ENVIRONMENTAL DISCLOSURE: Guest(s) hereby acknowledges the State of Hawaii is exposed to such environmental hazards including but not limited to Tidal Wave/Tsunami, Hurricane and Flood. Please refer to the local phone book regarding inundation area and evacuation instructions should a threat occur. We recommend Travelers Insurance for any unforeseen circumstances. Because we are in the Tropics, you may encounter geckos, and other pests. Our homes are treated regularly for pest control maintenance; however, pests are a normal part of life in the tropics. Neighbors of the subject property may also use pesticides and chemicals that may affect a person who is sensitive to pesticides and other chemicals. Every person reacts differently to various pesticides, chemicals, and molds. Some homes may be more prone to mold than others. If Guest(s) is sensitive to pesticides, chemicals, or molds, Guest(s) are urged to investigate this issue of possible health or safety prior to arrival.

Amazing home away from home This condo was fabulous for myself, my husband, toddler, baby and my parents. Plenty spacious. Two of the bedrooms are down a hallway so enabled us to put the kids down away from the main living area and the main bedroom with en suite. Newly renovated, very well stocked including a high chair, crib, potty, beach chairs, beach tent, snorkel gear and everything you need in the kitchen. There was no coffee grinder but we just used the blender. Beautiful Lanai with pool and ocean view. Poipu was amazing, it's a 10 minute walk to the beach with a protected water area for the kids. Kauai itself is paradise! Loved every minute of our stay.

Beautiful condo in a great location We loved waking up to the view of the ocean every morning, and having tea and coffee on the big lanai. My bother even walked to Brennecke's beach each morning for sunrise - it's that close! The property has been very nicely upgraded so it's very comfy throughout. It was worth every penny!

great location ! Our family of 6 loved our 6 night stay. The location,<br/>right next to the ocean's rocky point, was what we appreciated the most. Grounds were well kept, pool clean & inviting. The dryer didn't work when we arrived but maintenance repaired it promptly (the next day). We would stay at #2202 again. Management was responsive to our requests.

Overall Good Stay It was a very nice and peaceful location. I loved that it overlooked the pool, and was close to the cliffs to see the turtles. The property I stayed at 2202 was nice, and updated, except the main shower would squeak, and the faucet did not work properly. The buttons on the oven was starting to fall apart. Also the internet password provided was incorrect, had to call the maintenance guy to fix. The biggest downfall was the heat. If this unit had AC it would have gotten 5 stars, even with approx. 10 fans blowing in every direction, the heat was still overbearing. Would recommend either a AC unit or a couple portable AC's.

Kauai Wedding Trip 2017 Fantastic! Well equipped, great location. Was a great home base and close to our event. A/C would jave been nice, especially the day we tried getting ready for wedding and photos.

Love Kauai!!! I was very happy with the location. I was very disappointed with the lack of coffee cups, the couch was very dingy looking. The quality in the baseboards was pretty bad. The washing machine stunk up the hallway and back bedrooms. With a little maintenance this would be a place I would go back to. Response from Ahh Aloha Kauai Vacation Rentals; Monday, May 15, 2017 So sorry we didn't know there was a shortage of coffee cups. We would have been happy to bring more to have bought a new set. The washing machine we ran a hot cycle with bleach, and have had no further problem. Again, we regret it was not reported to us, we could have taken care of it immediately!

Super location & great condo We were delighted with our stay. A great location for families, peaceful & quiet. Our condo was large with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathroom which was perfect for our family of four or more. Large washer & drier, and dishwasher were convenient. We could watch the sunset from our deck, we also could see whales breaching in the distance. We were extremely happy with our stay ??

Lovely spot for a family vacation! My family of 5 and I had a fabulous time staying at this property. Everything was there that we could possibly need! Close walk to Brenneke and Poipu beach. Beautiful sunsets from the property grounds. My three little boys really enjoyed the pool. Everything in the condo is clean and updated. One warning - no Air Conditioning. This isn't usually a problem in Hawaii, but if you are people who need it, this is not the spot for you. We had no issues without Air Conditioning, plenty of fans/ceiling fans!

Makajuena 2202 My wife and I stayed at this rental with our daughter's family including 10 and 12 year old grandkids. It was a great condo- clean, comfortable, well stocked with everything that you might need, good condition, nice pool and hot tub, tennis court, right on aq great hiking trail, excellent views of whales, turtles, and dolphins, very helpful staff, on-site handyman who seems able to fix anything. If we had the money and lived closer, we would buy it.

We had a great time. Clean and spacious, well equipped, great views of the ocean from the balcony. We really liked the kitchen - several of us could cook together, and our group og 8 fitted around the nice granite table-counter. The 5-way shower in the master bath was fun. It's a older building, no a/c. NB: do not park under a coconut tree! Our windshield took a direct hit.

Lack of Wind We have been coming to Poipu for 30 years Air flow in a unit is very important. Though the trade winds were blowing, our unit had no air flow. According to.one of the neighbors that building is known for a lack air flow in the units. We even paid $50 for a fan because there was only one.

Nice, fully equipped Kauai south coast Rental BUT... It IS a beautiful condo and with normal warm and humid Hawaii weather it would've been perfect. There us NO A/C here. Unfortunately, this year is the El Niño year (extreme heat wave) and the humidity felt like it's x10.

Great spot for island adventuring We throughly enjoyed our stay and time in Kauai. It made for a great home base- full kitchen and all the supplies we needed, comfortable beds, and a great pool/hot tub. The only negative thing was the lack of air conditioning. It was very hot and the place never really cooled down, even at night. Other than that we had an excellent stay!

Excellent Location and Place Everyone was very happy to stay at there, location and building. only two things we have to say,<br/>1)The hard wood floor in kitchen area was very dusty and dirty, so we sweep them when we checked in.<br/>2)The line of one single bed was mold smell, it looks they put the bed before completely dry the linens, my gust couldn't sleep in the bed at first night because the rotten smell. we washed it next day, then it was all good.<br/>a house cleaner might be busy and it's done quickly<br/>then caused it.<br/><br/>it was a little disappointed, but rather that, it's all good, we had a good time and still not enough time at Kauai.

Enjoyed our stay We stayed at Makahuena in Poipu for two weeks, it is a great place to stay. To wake up and fall asleep seeing the ocean was a breath of fresh air as we wake up seeing desert sand. It is in a great location close to shopping,resturants,and things to do. The only problem we had was, the condo is up for sale! I had a realitor call me on my cell phone wanting to show it while we were 4 days into our vacation stay. I emailed the property management company and expressed my concerns with letting someone come thru while we were there. The response I got from them was great "absolutely not!" She got on the phone with the realitor and the owner of the condo and let them both know that they needed to wait till we were done with the condo and that will not happen again! Other than that my visit to Makahuena 2202 was a great place, would rent the condo again if it is not sold the next time we visit Kauai.

A Little Dated But a Nice Property Poipu is a great place to vacation. This property is a little dated but the unit was partially upgraded. Unfortunately the, very large master shower, was slow to drain so if you weren't quick, the bathroom would flood. The other bathroom had limited water pressure. When we went to the front desk to tell them they said they did not look after the property and had no contact information for who ever did look after the property. We had to deal with ants and a very large beetle of some sort that turns you off a bit. The furniture was not that comfortable but we did not spend much time in the room so it was fine. I would say this is an average place to stay in Hawaii. Nice but certainly not top end.

The average vacation rental I've been to Kauai dozens of times over the years. I find that the Makahuena in general is a substandard complex. This unit in particular looked nice on the surface, but we had major problems w Wifi. Maintenance called but did not fix it. Basically, Cell phone devices are unusable. Dishwasher was funky. In addition- No complementary soap products are provided in baths or shower. They Could have had at least small sample bars of soap. Overall can not recommend. For the price point not a good value.

Pictures are misleading! The positives - the view is great and the size of the condo is good for 4 adults and 2 kids. The negatives - lots of broken stuff (toaster, no phone or internet,living room chair, dishwasher, lamp). The place is really worn and needs updating. There is no seating in the living room. The place is very hot and there is no breeze. We tried to contact the rental agency and no one called us back. The tennis court lights are broken and we had no water for two of the days and they sprayed for bugs one of the days. There are lots of nice places in Poipu, this is not one of them.

Great property, good ocean view! This was a great property. For us everything was in working order except the dish washer didn't dry that well. The property had a great balcony with a great view, I could see whales and the sunset from sitting there. <br/><br/>The hot tub and pool were awesome but close at 9pm. Restaurants were about a ten min drive. I thought the beach was a little too far to walk, but the property came with boogie boards, chairs, and snorkels. <br/><br/>I would recommend this place for families - I don't think it was that romantic of a place, but the 5 people I went with enjoyed their own rooms and loved the large kitchen. Most applicants were there, smoothie maker, pots, pans, Tupperware etc. <br/>

Great Location and View...Very Hot The location, view, grounds, and quiet setting are excellent. Internet hookup was difficult with very few prompts to help us. Beds were comfortable. Some dishes were missing so we all couldn't eat out of bowls at once. The main difficulty was the heat and I'm a lover of heat. The condo faces west and the sun floods the main room quite literally until it drops below the horizon. There are sun shades which do very little except make you feel as if you are in a cave. It is impossible to sit on the patio at this time of day. I'm not sure what the answer to this problem would be...perhaps another shade outside at the edge of the patio or a small air conditioner to just take the edge off? So while I said "yes I would recommend the property," I would explain this phenomena to a friend. It really was unbearable except on the cloudy rainy days.

Broken Down I submitted a review right after the trip. I guess you guys didn't get it. We had all kinds of maintenance issues at the condo. On the first day, the door to the kids' room fell off its hinges. My husband is a carpenter and did a temporary repair. The dishwasher was not installed correctly, and the whole thing fell forward each time the door was opened. Also, the bottom rack of the dishwasher had to be man-handled to get it out for loading dishes. We had to listen to tree trimming noise for 3 days straight. The master bedroom bed was horribly uncomfortable. I think it's time for a new mattress!! We both slept in "holes" because of the mattress' broken down condition.

Nice location and amenities This condo was great. Very modern interior and comfortable bedding. Also the rental had snorkel equipment, a few boogie boards, chairs, coolers and umbrellas. These extras really made days at the beach more enjoyable.

My opinion... Our family really liked our condo unit facing the water and Poipu is definitely our favorite spot in Kauai! However, we were a little disappointed in certain items in the condo that were in poor condition. Actually, all of the units on the outside could use an overhaul...they look very dated! Our dishwasher was not installed properly to the wood framing. Every time you opened it, the whole unit would start to fall forward and the bottom rack would not glide on the track properly. Quite frustrating since we used it a several times. We also think the condo should have an additional couch or more comfortable chairs to sit in the living room on. They were uncomfortable and our family of 5 had a hard time all fitting comfortably when sitting in that room. The master bathroom slider door didn't have a working handle or lock which seemed like an easy fix to us.One other thing, we found two cockroaches, one in each back bedroom. Needless to say, our kids were a bit freaked out to go back in those rooms for the remainder of our stay. We did have an enjoyable stay, just feel there should be some improvements, especially with the dish washer and bug issues.

Wonderful place to Stay!! We were very happy with our condo at Makahuena! It was big enough for the 6 of us to be very comfortable. It had everything we needed for a great vacation, including boogie boards! The kitchen was very well equiped, it even had tupperware so we could pack our lunch's for day trips! Kauai was amazing and we will definately be back!

Our stay at the Makahuena #2202 This unit is quite nice affording a view over the pool & one can also see some of the ocean albeit over the rooftop of the condo in front & to the sides of that condo. Big plus is that it is all on one floor which we prize and go out of our way to avoid the dreaded lofts & miles of stairs in other offerings. The dishwasher is dreadful & gives one fits each time the lower basket is moved in & out. Does seem to wash well though. The TV in the master BR does not work. Perhaps the owners can address these issues because they have done a nice job updating all else. We look forward to another stay here. Thanks.

Not what we expected, but couldve been worse Reading the description for this property lead us to believe that the beach was right out front. Not exactly. There is a beach pretty close by (1 mi on map),but its easier/safer to drive to than to walk. If you plan to go to the beach with chairs, umbrellas etc..its not the easiest walk along the road. The property itself was decent, just had some cosmetic problems. The freezer was all but frozen shut, dryer makes a crazy sound (only run it when youre gone!) The pots and pans are so old you lose half your meal to the 'non stick'. The sliders for the doors are a challenge as well. Every time we tried to go to the pool, it was closed- chemical treatments and limited hours. One day we came back to a maintenance worker in the condo without our knowledge (minor red flag). The good stuff: poipu was a perfect location!,partial ocean view, the property management co was very helpful, plenty of parking at this location, great table/kitchen for lots of people, place was clean, accommodates for 6 people easily, the rocks out front have a nice view of the ocean, they provided more towels, beach gear, and movies than we were aware of. So like I said, could've been worse, but we would probably explore other options for a return stay.

A Lovely Vacation Overall, we enjoyed out stay in Makahuena 2202 and were so pleased that the owners supplied us with boogie boards, coolers and beach towels. Minor inconveniences that can easily be remedied: We were unhappy that when we called maintenance about some minor points, they did not return our calls. We asked that the fluorescent bulb be replaced above the washing machine and they never came. We requested a 12 noon check out, but they never got back to us. There was a dirty towel on the floor when we walked in, the couch was stained, the ice maker did not work, the dish washer was extremely loose,and rocked back and forth. It was difficult to remove the bottom shelf to load dishes. Other than that, the unit was spacious and clean. Mahalo!

A perfect home away from home in Paradise! The condo was like a home away from home in Paradise! Perfect for our family of 4 because we all had our own rooms! The common area was great to have meals, watch movies, and hang out after long days at the beach or sightseeing. <br/>The owners thought of everything, the place is well equipped with amenities, utensils, extras for the beach etc. which is why we felt like it was a second home. Great location near Poipu and Brenneke's Beach! The hardwoods made it nice, as well as the shutter blinds to keep out the noise and sun in the morning. Very Chillaxing!

The general cleanliness of the room The location was great for out stay. Beautiful view and comfortable room for our group. BUT the cleanliness of some areas of the room were disgusting. The shower in the master bathroom needs an thorough excessive cleaning. The shower heads and the knobs had greenish/brown slim gunk on them. Their walls in some of the master bathroom and the kitchen area need to be scrubbed if not repainted. Dishwasher needs to be reseeded and it smelled funny. The kitchen was well stocked for needed items. Bathroom in the hallway needed a light fixture above the sink it was not functioning during our stay. Not enough linens provided for the stay.

Great for the view but look for another unit 2202 has a great view but faces west and has direct sun on the lanai making it very hot and unusable from 2 until 6 pm. Afternoon heat radiates into the unit. No AC. Furniture is dirty and shows much wear and tear, not as it appears in pictures. General disrepair - areas of floor trim is loose, needs paint,dishwasher door broken, washer/dryer malfunctioned. TV sound bar shown in picture is missing. All electronics and many cables and cords exposed left hanging down the wall under TV. Bed linens had holes and many worn areas. Loved the view but not the condition of 2202.

Makahuena 2202 There were a few things not working. THe ice machine did not work, the faucet in the kitchen leaked. There was no WIFI. We only had one roll of paper towels and had to buy more and toilet paper as well. It would have been nice to have those amenities.

Makahuena 2202 would be awesome with just a little work! All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Makahuena 2202. The view is beautiful and the grounds are maintained very well. We had some issues with the following: the ceiling fan in the bedroom with the twin beds was broken and it took 4 days to get it replaced which made that room quite hot. The WiFi did not work and we never got any resolution to that problem which made communications/cell phone usage very difficult. The washing machine does not work properly and constantly goes off balance (even with only 2 bath towels in the load). The ice maker in the freezer does not work and the freezer door is quite difficult to open. The dishwasher also did not work. The coffee table in the living room was very worn, I think it might have been leather at one point but most of it was worn off and looked pretty bad. We put a sheet over it so we didn't have to look at it. The counter space in the bathrooms is nonexistant so you have to be a little creative with your toiletries. Other than that, we spent most of the time out of the unit enjoying the beautiful island and the condo was just a place to crash. If the above items were fixed, I would have given this place a fabulous review. But as I said above, plan on spending your time out and about and you'll do just fine!

Great Stay @ 2202 Had an awesome time in 2202. Loved the location, perfectly quiet and close to everything we needed. A car is helpful but not essential. The condo is very nicely renovated for holiday use and would be one of the nicest units in the complex I would think.

Don't Bother Arrived on a Saturday, late evening, only to find Sunday that after washing a load of towels and putting them in the dryer, after 6 hours they still weren't dry. Called on Monday to complain and after having not received a return phone call, had to call again. My brother-in-law went behind the dryer and cleaned out a bunch of lint. Then the washer broke. Repairman did not come until Tuesday and had to order a part and did not replace it until late afternoon Thursday. Then the dryer stopped working again properly. Basically only got to do a few loads of laundry on Friday. Called to complain to the rental company and she was NOT very accommodating or sympathetic to our frustration.

We loved our stay This condo was beautiful, and had all of the things we needed for our stay. The finishes were artful, simple, and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Our group of 5 had only one problem which was that the walk to Poipu was a bit longer than we'd expected, making it difficult to go to the beach without driving. Since we had our kids with us, the amount of gear we needed to bring to the beach was the main reason for that. We did see groups walking that route, and the only part that seemed problematic was the 1 to 2 block section without sidewalks. Otherwise, our stay was absolutely perfect. Lovely, comfortable, great views. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great place to stay We had a great time at the condo. It has most of the supplies that we needed, although it would have been nice to have some cooking basics like oil and a seasoning salt. It also took us awhile to figure out that the condos have a grill area. All of the other documentation stated it didn't. All of the reviews that I had read previously certainly helped me know that it was great. There was one negative review complaining about the cleanliness of the condo. The dark hardwoods and cabinets are beautiful, but they do show scratches, any dirt and blemished in the strong daylight of Hawaii. There didn't seem to be a cleanliness issue. We had a wonderful stay. I loved the ipod players in every room.

Nice place in Poipu Makahuena 2202 was a really nice unit. Good location in Poipu. Located on the cliffs above the water, but a short walk or drive (we drove) to Poipu beach. This unit is in the second building back from the front, but still has great views. Very nice kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable living room. My only complaint was the lack of AC. For some reason our unit would not always get the coastal breeze and it was hot and humid during the day. At night, it was comfortable.

Kauai Kool! Condo was beautiful... dark hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, comfortable beds. Good location..close to Poipu Beach and Shipwreck Beach and shops. No AC, but ceiling fans through out and the Trade Winds make it unnecessary for most of the day. (A little warm from 4-6pm.) Complex is well maintained. Pool is average, but well maintained. If you are looking for a quiet, residential, non-hotel experience, then this fits the bill!

The property is about 50% foreclose on and i spoke to owners who said its not going well.I was trying to keep my cool I should have checked into the hyatt next family was very disappointed and then we were asked about some alarm going off ,that turns out was next door. The unit next door 5 construction workers were loud and they let their front door open all nite with tv going.I could go on but ,i believe vrbo will hear about it in detail...refund would be nice ...

Winter Get Away We stayed for 6 weeks, the best 6 weeks ever! Our children and spouses came and plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen and counter were great, much better than having a table. The activity at the pool and ocean were great from the lanai. The only negative I have is no counter space in the bathrooms. We are hoping to stay again next year.

There were a few problems with the unit.<br/>The lower dishwasher tray does not have a track, thus it was very difficult to move. The screeen door is not anchored well on its track. The hallway bathroom could use some good cleanup and finishing work around floor and ceiling.<br/>However, we were happy with the place in general - nice comfortable feeling in rooms and living area.<br/>Thank you for the opportunity to stay there.

Turtles... Poipu had the best of everything! Swimming beaches and snorkeling bays. We lucked out and swam with turtles the size of a coffee table. No lie! The property was well manicured and the unit I stayed in was recently renovated. I felt like I was at home! <br/>Mahalo!

Great Location, could be perfect with a little work The condo is in a great location and the Makahuena Point is a perfect location. Morning and evening sunrise/sunsets are beautiful from either the patio or the community viewing area. The pool and grounds are kept clean and maintained well by the friendly and helpful staff.<br/><br/>Unit 2202 is very nice and the kitchen has recently been renovated with modern appliances and top-notch materials. All 3 bedrooms and the living area are handsomely furnished with comfortable beds and seating. The design of the apartment allows the trade winds to blow through from end to end providing a wonderful coolness at night as well as the sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks.<br/><br/>The negatives are few, but they could be easily fixed and doing so would make this a rental that would be fought over as opposed to simply another nice place to stay. The bathrooms are both in need of remodeling and show signs of age and have a musty smell. The only TV in the unit that worked during our stay was the one in the living room; both of the other two were completely dead (whether you consider that a blessing or curse is up to you). The dishwasher needs to be fixed and has a foul smell. After trying it out one time we opted to hand-wash all dishes. <br/><br/>Aside from those few detractors this was a very nice place to stay. I also believe that with a little bit of work all of the above issues could be easily fixed and Makahuena 2202 would be an unbeatable choice for your Kauai vacation.

a good but not great place This condo is near the ocean, but view is somewhat obscured.<br/>Main problem is the poor design with limited cross ventilation. It got quite hot, and no A/C.<br/>Owners provided no info on where to get basic things, info on unit. TV in master BR did not work.<br/>A somewhat long walk to the beach, when you're carrying your stuff.<br/>Would not return to this place, although Kauai is lovely.

good location Loved the location! Condo had a very well stocked kitchen and nice view to ocean on Linei, loved all the ipod docking staions. Just a few minor things broken, wheel on the dishwasher and handle in master bedroom shower, could also use more towel bars or hooks so you don't have to hang them on the hangers to dry. Overall a very nice place to stay, we enjoyed it very much.

Kauai vacation, July 2010 We had a wonderful time in Kauai, and the apartment was great. It was both clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of room for our family. Sitting on the lanai was great, and the pool was terrific for a quick dip. The apartment was well-stocked with necessities. It was great to have those on hand and not have to go shopping immediately upon arrival. The kitchen was well appointed, and the furniture was both functional and comfortable. Beds, too, were comfortable. However, Nights were a little warm, so air conditioning would have been appreciated. Also, the walk to the beach was a challenge with a stroller and a two-year old.

Overall good experience Condo was clean, nice, and in a great location. It is nice to have three bedrooms, laundry, and a pool. The kitchen was great to cook and have meals around. We used the pool every night but they are very strict about being out at 9pm. Also, the condo has a lot of rules. We got a notice on the door because we had out towels hanging over the railing to dry. The only reason I docked it a star is because it does not come with air conditioning which was unpleasant on very hot days, and the internet did not work for the first two days which i did indicate ahead of time was important for me to have. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the location, and having a washer and dryer was an amazing perk!

kauai makahuena When we arrived, the condo was in good condition and pleasantly more spacious than anticipated. The location in Poipu was good, and the grounds were close to the ocean, a short drive to the beach, safe, and quiet. Parking was easy. From our home base we were able to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, quick trips to the grocery store, and dining.

It was a very nice and peaceful location. I loved that it overlooked the pool, and was close to the cliffs to see the turtles. The property I stayed at 2202 was nice, and updated, except the main shower would squeak, and the faucet did not work properly. The buttons on the oven was starting to fall apart. Also the internet password provided was incorrect, had to call the maintenance guy to fix. The biggest downfall was the heat. If this unit had AC it would have gotten 5 stars, even with approx. 10 fans blowing in every direction, the heat was still overbearing. Would recommend either a AC unit or a couple portable AC's.

I was very happy with the location. I was very disappointed with the lack of coffee cups, the couch was very dingy looking. The quality in the baseboards was pretty bad. The washing machine stunk up the hallway and back bedrooms. With a little maintenance this would be a place I would go back to.

We were delighted with our stay. A great location for families, peaceful & quiet. Our condo was large with 3 bedrooms & 2 bathroom which was perfect for our family of four or more. Large washer & drier, and dishwasher were convenient. We could watch the sunset from our deck, we also could see whales breaching in the distance. We were extremely happy with our stay ??

My family of 5 and I had a fabulous time staying at this property. Everything was there that we could possibly need! Close walk to Brenneke and Poipu beach. Beautiful sunsets from the property grounds. My three little boys really enjoyed the pool. Everything in the condo is clean and updated. One warning - no Air Conditioning. This isn't usually a problem in Hawaii, but if you are people who need it, this is not the spot for you. We had no issues without Air Conditioning, plenty of fans/ceiling fans!

My wife and I stayed at this rental with our daughter's family including 10 and 12 year old grandkids. It was a great condo- clean, comfortable, well stocked with everything that you might need, good condition, nice pool and hot tub, tennis court, right on aq great hiking trail, excellent views of whales, turtles, and dolphins, very helpful staff, on-site handyman who seems able to fix anything. If we had the money and lived closer, we would buy it.

Clean and spacious, well equipped, great views of the ocean from the balcony. We really liked the kitchen - several of us could cook together, and our group og 8 fitted around the nice granite table-counter. The 5-way shower in the master bath was fun. It's a older building, no a/c. NB: do not park under a coconut tree! Our windshield took a direct hit.

We have been coming to Poipu for 30 years Air flow in a unit is very important. Though the trade winds were blowing, our unit had no air flow. According to.one of the neighbors that building is known for a lack air flow in the units. We even paid $50 for a fan because there was only one.

It IS a beautiful condo and with normal warm and humid Hawaii weather it would've been perfect. There us NO A/C here. Unfortunately, this year is the El Niño year (extreme heat wave) and the humidity felt like it's x10.

When we arrived, the condo was in good condition and pleasantly more spacious than anticipated. The location in Poipu was good, and the grounds were close to the ocean, a short drive to the beach, safe, and quiet. Parking was easy. From our home base we were able to enjoy swimming, snorkeling, quick trips to the grocery store, and dining.

We throughly enjoyed our stay and time in Kauai. It made for a great home base- full kitchen and all the supplies we needed, comfortable beds, and a great pool/hot tub. The only negative thing was the lack of air conditioning. It was very hot and the place never really cooled down, even at night. Other than that we had an excellent stay!

Everyone was very happy to stay at there, location and building. only two things we have to say,<br/>1)The hard wood floor in kitchen area was very dusty and dirty, so we sweep them when we checked in.<br/>2)The line of one single bed was mold smell, it looks they put the bed before completely dry the linens, my gust couldn't sleep in the bed at first night because the rotten smell. we washed it next day, then it was all good.<br/>a house cleaner might be busy and it's done quickly<br/>then caused it.<br/><br/>it was a little disappointed, but rather that, it's all good, we had a good time and still not enough time at Kauai.

Condo was clean, nice, and in a great location. It is nice to have three bedrooms, laundry, and a pool. The kitchen was great to cook and have meals around. We used the pool every night but they are very strict about being out at 9pm. Also, the condo has a lot of rules. We got a notice on the door because we had out towels hanging over the railing to dry. The only reason I docked it a star is because it does not come with air conditioning which was unpleasant on very hot days, and the internet did not work for the first two days which i did indicate ahead of time was important for me to have. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the location, and having a washer and dryer was an amazing perk!

We stayed at Makahuena in Poipu for two weeks, it is a great place to stay. To wake up and fall asleep seeing the ocean was a breath of fresh air as we wake up seeing desert sand. It is in a great location close to shopping,resturants,and things to do. The only problem we had was, the condo is up for sale! I had a realitor call me on my cell phone wanting to show it while we were 4 days into our vacation stay. I emailed the property management company and expressed my concerns with letting someone come thru while we were there. The response I got from them was great "absolutely not!" She got on the phone with the realitor and the owner of the condo and let them both know that they needed to wait till we were done with the condo and that will not happen again! Other than that my visit to Makahuena 2202 was a great place, would rent the condo again if it is not sold the next time we visit Kauai.

Poipu is a great place to vacation. This property is a little dated but the unit was partially upgraded. Unfortunately the, very large master shower, was slow to drain so if you weren't quick, the bathroom would flood. The other bathroom had limited water pressure. When we went to the front desk to tell them they said they did not look after the property and had no contact information for who ever did look after the property. We had to deal with ants and a very large beetle of some sort that turns you off a bit. The furniture was not that comfortable but we did not spend much time in the room so it was fine. I would say this is an average place to stay in Hawaii. Nice but certainly not top end.

I've been to Kauai dozens of times over the years. I find that the Makahuena in general is a substandard complex. This unit in particular looked nice on the surface, but we had major problems w Wifi. Maintenance called but did not fix it. Basically, Cell phone devices are unusable. Dishwasher was funky. In addition- No complementary soap products are provided in baths or shower. They Could have had at least small sample bars of soap. Overall can not recommend. For the price point not a good value.

The positives - the view is great and the size of the condo is good for 4 adults and 2 kids. The negatives - lots of broken stuff (toaster, no phone or internet,living room chair, dishwasher, lamp). The place is really worn and needs updating. There is no seating in the living room. The place is very hot and there is no breeze. We tried to contact the rental agency and no one called us back. The tennis court lights are broken and we had no water for two of the days and they sprayed for bugs one of the days. There are lots of nice places in Poipu, this is not one of them.

This was a great property. For us everything was in working order except the dish washer didn't dry that well. The property had a great balcony with a great view, I could see whales and the sunset from sitting there. <br/><br/>The hot tub and pool were awesome but close at 9pm. Restaurants were about a ten min drive. I thought the beach was a little too far to walk, but the property came with boogie boards, chairs, and snorkels. <br/><br/>I would recommend this place for families - I don't think it was that romantic of a place, but the 5 people I went with enjoyed their own rooms and loved the large kitchen. Most applicants were there, smoothie maker, pots, pans, Tupperware etc. <br/>

The location, view, grounds, and quiet setting are excellent. Internet hookup was difficult with very few prompts to help us. Beds were comfortable. Some dishes were missing so we all couldn't eat out of bowls at once. The main difficulty was the heat and I'm a lover of heat. The condo faces west and the sun floods the main room quite literally until it drops below the horizon. There are sun shades which do very little except make you feel as if you are in a cave. It is impossible to sit on the patio at this time of day. I'm not sure what the answer to this problem would be...perhaps another shade outside at the edge of the patio or a small air conditioner to just take the edge off? So while I said "yes I would recommend the property," I would explain this phenomena to a friend. It really was unbearable except on the cloudy rainy days.

I submitted a review right after the trip. I guess you guys didn't get it. We had all kinds of maintenance issues at the condo. On the first day, the door to the kids' room fell off its hinges. My husband is a carpenter and did a temporary repair. The dishwasher was not installed correctly, and the whole thing fell forward each time the door was opened. Also, the bottom rack of the dishwasher had to be man-handled to get it out for loading dishes. We had to listen to tree trimming noise for 3 days straight. The master bedroom bed was horribly uncomfortable. I think it's time for a new mattress!! We both slept in "holes" because of the mattress' broken down condition.

Our family really liked our condo unit facing the water and Poipu is definitely our favorite spot in Kauai! However, we were a little disappointed in certain items in the condo that were in poor condition. Actually, all of the units on the outside could use an overhaul...they look very dated! Our dishwasher was not installed properly to the wood framing. Every time you opened it, the whole unit would start to fall forward and the bottom rack would not glide on the track properly. Quite frustrating since we used it a several times. We also think the condo should have an additional couch or more comfortable chairs to sit in the living room on. They were uncomfortable and our family of 5 had a hard time all fitting comfortably when sitting in that room. The master bathroom slider door didn't have a working handle or lock which seemed like an easy fix to us.One other thing, we found two cockroaches, one in each back bedroom. Needless to say, our kids were a bit freaked out to go back in those rooms for the remain

We were very happy with our condo at Makahuena! It was big enough for the 6 of us to be very comfortable. It had everything we needed for a great vacation, including boogie boards! The kitchen was very well equiped, it even had tupperware so we could pack our lunch's for day trips! Kauai was amazing and we will definately be back!

This unit is quite nice affording a view over the pool & one can also see some of the ocean albeit over the rooftop of the condo in front & to the sides of that condo. Big plus is that it is all on one floor which we prize and go out of our way to avoid the dreaded lofts & miles of stairs in other offerings. The dishwasher is dreadful & gives one fits each time the lower basket is moved in & out. Does seem to wash well though. The TV in the master BR does not work. Perhaps the owners can address these issues because they have done a nice job updating all else. We look forward to another stay here. Thanks.

Reading the description for this property lead us to believe that the beach was right out front. Not exactly. There is a beach pretty close by (1 mi on map),but its easier/safer to drive to than to walk. If you plan to go to the beach with chairs, umbrellas etc..its not the easiest walk along the road. The property itself was decent, just had some cosmetic problems. The freezer was all but frozen shut, dryer makes a crazy sound (only run it when youre gone!) The pots and pans are so old you lose half your meal to the 'non stick'. The sliders for the doors are a challenge as well. Every time we tried to go to the pool, it was closed- chemical treatments and limited hours. One day we came back to a maintenance worker in the condo without our knowledge (minor red flag). The good stuff: poipu was a perfect location!,partial ocean view, the property management co was very helpful, plenty of parking at this location, great table/kitchen for lots of people, place was clean, accommodates for 6 people easily, the ro

Overall, we enjoyed out stay in Makahuena 2202 and were so pleased that the owners supplied us with boogie boards, coolers and beach towels. Minor inconveniences that can easily be remedied: We were unhappy that when we called maintenance about some minor points, they did not return our calls. We asked that the fluorescent bulb be replaced above the washing machine and they never came. We requested a 12 noon check out, but they never got back to us. There was a dirty towel on the floor when we walked in, the couch was stained, the ice maker did not work, the dish washer was extremely loose,and rocked back and forth. It was difficult to remove the bottom shelf to load dishes. Other than that, the unit was spacious and clean. Mahalo!

The condo was like a home away from home in Paradise! Perfect for our family of 4 because we all had our own rooms! The common area was great to have meals, watch movies, and hang out after long days at the beach or sightseeing. <br/>The owners thought of everything, the place is well equipped with amenities, utensils, extras for the beach etc. which is why we felt like it was a second home. Great location near Poipu and Brenneke's Beach! The hardwoods made it nice, as well as the shutter blinds to keep out the noise and sun in the morning. Very Chillaxing!

The location was great for out stay. Beautiful view and comfortable room for our group. BUT the cleanliness of some areas of the room were disgusting. The shower in the master bathroom needs an thorough excessive cleaning. The shower heads and the knobs had greenish/brown slim gunk on them. Their walls in some of the master bathroom and the kitchen area need to be scrubbed if not repainted. Dishwasher needs to be reseeded and it smelled funny. The kitchen was well stocked for needed items. Bathroom in the hallway needed a light fixture above the sink it was not functioning during our stay. Not enough linens provided for the stay.

2202 has a great view but faces west and has direct sun on the lanai making it very hot and unusable from 2 until 6 pm. Afternoon heat radiates into the unit. No AC. Furniture is dirty and shows much wear and tear, not as it appears in pictures. General disrepair - areas of floor trim is loose, needs paint,dishwasher door broken, washer/dryer malfunctioned. TV sound bar shown in picture is missing. All electronics and many cables and cords exposed left hanging down the wall under TV. Bed linens had holes and many worn areas. Loved the view but not the condition of 2202.

There were a few things not working. THe ice machine did not work, the faucet in the kitchen leaked. There was no WIFI. We only had one roll of paper towels and had to buy more and toilet paper as well. It would have been nice to have those amenities.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Makahuena 2202. The view is beautiful and the grounds are maintained very well. We had some issues with the following: the ceiling fan in the bedroom with the twin beds was broken and it took 4 days to get it replaced which made that room quite hot. The WiFi did not work and we never got any resolution to that problem which made communications/cell phone usage very difficult. The washing machine does not work properly and constantly goes off balance (even with only 2 bath towels in the load). The ice maker in the freezer does not work and the freezer door is quite difficult to open. The dishwasher also did not work. The coffee table in the living room was very worn, I think it might have been leather at one point but most of it was worn off and looked pretty bad. We put a sheet over it so we didn't have to look at it. The counter space in the bathrooms is nonexistant so you have to be a little creative with your toiletries. Arrived on a Saturday, late evening, only to find Sunday that after washing a load of towels and putting them in the dryer, after 6 hours they still weren't dry. Called on Monday to complain and after having not received a return phone call, had to call again. My brother-in-law went behind the dryer and cleaned out a bunch of lint. Then the washer broke. Repairman did not come until Tuesday and had to order a part and did not replace it until late afternoon Thursday. Then the dryer stopped working again properly. Basically only got to do a few loads of laundry on Friday. Called to complain to the rental company and she was NOT very accommodating or sympathetic to our frustration.

This condo was beautiful, and had all of the things we needed for our stay. The finishes were artful, simple, and comfortable. Beds were very comfortable. Our group of 5 had only one problem which was that the walk to Poipu was a bit longer than we'd expected, making it difficult to go to the beach without driving. Since we had our kids with us, the amount of gear we needed to bring to the beach was the main reason for that. We did see groups walking that route, and the only part that seemed problematic was the 1 to 2 block section without sidewalks. Otherwise, our stay was absolutely perfect. Lovely, comfortable, great views. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

We had a great time at the condo. It has most of the supplies that we needed, although it would have been nice to have some cooking basics like oil and a seasoning salt. It also took us awhile to figure out that the condos have a grill area. All of the other documentation stated it didn't. All of the reviews that I had read previously certainly helped me know that it was great. There was one negative review complaining about the cleanliness of the condo. The dark hardwoods and cabinets are beautiful, but they do show scratches, any dirt and blemished in the strong daylight of Hawaii. There didn't seem to be a cleanliness issue. We had a wonderful stay. I loved the ipod players in every room.

We had a wonderful time in Kauai, and the apartment was great. It was both clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of room for our family. Sitting on the lanai was great, and the pool was terrific for a quick dip. The apartment was well-stocked with necessities. It was great to have those on hand and not have to go shopping immediately upon arrival. The kitchen was well appointed, and the furniture was both functional and comfortable. Beds, too, were comfortable. However, Nights were a little warm, so air conditioning would have been appreciated. Also, the walk to the beach was a challenge with a stroller and a two-year old.

There were a few problems with the unit.<br/>The lower dishwasher tray does not have a track, thus it was very difficult to move. The screeen door is not anchored well on its track. The hallway bathroom could use some good cleanup and finishing work around floor and ceiling.<br/>However, we were happy with the place in general - nice comfortable feeling in rooms and living area.<br/>Thank you for the opportunity to stay there.

The unit was very dirty,i could not get any connections from your internet because it required a passcode and when i spoke to a repre ,he never called back like he said he would.I am requesting a refund of 500.00 from your office. The property is about 50% foreclose on and i spoke to owners who said its not going well.I was trying to keep my cool I should have checked into the hyatt next family was very disappointed and then we were asked about some alarm going off ,that turns out was next door. The unit next door 5 construction workers were loud and they let their front door open all nite with tv going.I could go on but ,i believe vrbo will hear about it in detail...refund would be nice ...

This condo is near the ocean, but view is somewhat obscured.<br/>Main problem is the poor design with limited cross ventilation. It got quite hot, and no A/C.<br/>Owners provided no info on where to get basic things, info on unit. The condo is in a great location and the Makahuena Point is a perfect location. Morning and evening sunrise/sunsets are beautiful from either the patio or the community viewing area. The pool and grounds are kept clean and maintained well by the friendly and helpful staff.<br/><br/>Unit 2202 is very nice and the kitchen has recently been renovated with modern appliances and top-notch materials. All 3 bedrooms and the living area are handsomely furnished with comfortable beds and seating. The design of the apartment allows the trade winds to blow through from end to end providing a wonderful coolness at night as well as the sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks.<br/><br/>The negatives are few, but they could be easily fixed and doing so would make this a rental that would be fought over as opposed to simply another nice place to stay. The bathrooms are both in need of remodeling and show signs of age and have a musty smell. The only TV in the unit that worked during our stay was the one in the living

Condo was beautiful... dark hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, comfortable beds. Good location..close to Poipu Beach and Shipwreck Beach and shops. No AC, but ceiling fans through out and the Trade Winds make it unnecessary for most of the day. (A little warm from 4-6pm.) Complex is well maintained. Pool is average, but well maintained. If you are looking for a quiet, residential, non-hotel experience, then this fits the bill!

We stayed for 6 weeks, the best 6 weeks ever! Our children and spouses came and plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen and counter were great, much better than having a table. The activity at the pool and ocean were great from the lanai. The only negative I have is no counter space in the bathrooms. We are hoping to stay again next year.

Makahuena 2202 was a really nice unit. Good location in Poipu. Located on the cliffs above the water, but a short walk or drive (we drove) to Poipu beach. This unit is in the second building back from the front, but still has great views. Very nice kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable living room. My only complaint was the lack of AC. For some reason our unit would not always get the coastal breeze and it was hot and humid during the day. At night, it was comfortable.
