Property is NOT waterfront or within 30 minute drive of a lake, ocean or river.
The complex is oceanfront. It is a few minutes drive to the Kahaluu Beach Park. This is an extremely popular spot to surf, and to snorkle, as it is frequented by turtles (you don't even need to be in the water to see them, as they often rest on the sand at dusk) and has sheltered access for novice snorkelers. You can rent snorkeling equipment right at the beach. A further 10 minute walk will take you to White Sands beach (a.k.a Magic Sands...as every year around March and April, the sands are stripped away by heavy seas and currents, exposing rough coral and making the area rugged for swimming. People still come here during those months because it is a good vantage point for observing migrating humpback whales.) A large sandy beach can be found at Hapuna State Park, a 55 minute drive north on Hwy 19. It is almost 700 yards long. During good weather the swimming is good and life guards are on duty.

The resort looks very very well manicured and maintained. The gardens were immaculate. Upon checking in we found the unit is actually " I - 201" not 1201. As there was a bit of competition for parking we parked in front of the I - 201 garage, so no problem. It is a LEVEL entry, which was great for my wife with the # ankle. The unit is likely 25- 30 years old, and so looks dated, but it was clean and functional. The kitchen had most everything, and was spacious. The BBQ was about 200 feet away in a nice setting. The lounge was spacious with a well placed fan. The lanai was awesome, huge, with a small view of the water, and the pool just below you. We used the AC at night, and it worked well.
The resort is 3 minutes from surfing and 4 minutes from a major excursion point for water activities, so was perfect. Taking the scenic beach side road into the old town, shopping area, it is about 5 miles, and 15 -20 minutes, but you're not in a hurry, and it is a beautiful drive past the beaches.
I would definitely stay here again as it is very good value and location!
We loved breakfast on the lanai, and the pool 1 minute away.
The guest centre was very helpful, and we sat in on several information events.

We had a lovely time! It was quieter than last year for us in terms of activities so we really enjoyed the quiet pool and convenient access to shopping, etc. We appreciate the fully equipped feature--we didn't need anything and we do a lot of eating "at home". The condo was clean and we think there was some new bedroom furniture e.g. beside tables which was a nice addition. The only comment we'd make is that the cleaners must have left in a hurry because there was a load in the dryer of towels (which I folded and put in the second bedroom) and the king bed was not completely made i.e. the pillow slips were not done. Not a big deal at all, just an FYI. A suggestion would be to have some instructions on how to open the lock box, however we finally figured it out. We have recommended this condo to family because it is really a great condo and location. Thanks very much, Lynne and Bruce Clarke

This is a very nice 2 bedroom 2 bath condo in one of the best resorts in the Kona area. There is a huge lanai with lovely ocean views. There are 3 swimming pools, spas and tennis courts for your enjoyment. Sit on the lanai and have your Kona coffee in the morning and just let your cares melt away. There is a king bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. There is a washer and dryer in the condo.
