We loved Maui Sunset! The condo was great with a beautiful view of the ocean. Every morning, we walked on the beach and every evening we joined other vacationers and locals for the sunset!

Great unit and service, generous provisions, and 3 suggestions
It's a well stocked 2/2 unit with beds for four in the 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed in the LR for two more people. ACs and fans in LR and bedrooms make the unit comfortable. Owner generously stocked extra supplies to make it a home-like place. Extra supplies included a wall-safe, two beach chairs, extra beach towels, boogie boards, ..etc. The complex has a nice outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The host Steve is very responsive and extremely helpful. Three suggestions 1) the door has a number lock but no door chain or dead-bolt. Since building/complex is not gated, theoretically anyone from the street can knock on your door. suggest adding a door chain for extra security and peace of mind; 2) I appreciated the starter kits for detergents and paper products. I didn't find any laundry detergent so I had to make an extra Safeway trip. Suggest making sure starter kids are complete or communicate what's not provided. 3) suggest add to the listing more detailed info on what is provided, for example, salt and pepper are provided, but not cooking oil. It's not a problem to get our own. Just would be helpful if the info is included in the listing. Thanks!

Beautiful views in Maui
We stayed in this property for 9 days in August and it was everything we expected and more. The space was as described and well laid out, the views perfection and the amenities ideal. I would highly recommend this property to families looking for a conveniently located, safe and value oriented stay.

Great place to stay!
Room was very clean and comfortable. Condo was quiet. I wish they had provided a few simple kitchen supplies such as Saran Wrap, olive oil, etc. Overall very happy with our stay and would stay here again.

1st time back in 40 years to the island of Maui
This location was excellent for our family view of everything ocean pools mountains hard to beat ! The size of condo was great 4 adults 3 children and we were never in each other’s way thanks to the separate bedrooms . The condo was clean except for one inside window which blind was pulled over. My suggestion for the owner would be to clean out closets there’s been Reno’s done there and there are some things that could all be put in one closet I was going to do but only got to one was simply having too much fun. Thank you to management and also Maui sunset for making this a enjoyable experiance.

Perfect Stay
We had amazing time at the Maui sunset resort. Is located perfectly on the beach and close to plenty of restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. There are plenty of places within walking distance. Our place had a washer dryer, full kitchen and lots beach supplies in the closet. Everything you could need on your trip is here, plus great sunset views. We even saw whales when we watched the sunset here in February.

Beautiful Grounds
I stayed a week in Maui Sunset. The grounds were beautifully maintained and being an ocean front property with numerous activities was great. However, the unit I rented had some issues: a broken towel bar in the bathroom, ripped drapes on the sliding door to the lanai, filthy floor fan (looked as if it had never been cleaned).

The location was perfect for exploring Maui. A great starting point for Hana, Haleakala Park, Wailea, Lahaina, the airport and in between. Very family friendly during our stay.

Beautiful Location and Property
We booked our stay at Maui Sunset for our Family Reunion June 27-July 6th. We got to the condo late at night and the instructions for a late check in were exactly how they explained it on the phone. Easy and Helpful. The security guard was there to assist us with any questions we had. <br/>The condo was spacious and had most of the supplies/ amenities that we needed. We had an issue with the sink, but maintenance was quick to come and fix it. The condo does need some attention to detail throughout the condo for cleaning, but that minor detail did not stop us from enjoying your beautiful property. We would stay at your property again and recommend it to others. Thank you

Family Reunion
We traveled from Canada, arriving late at night. The late check-in process was exactly how it was described to us on the phone. It was easy and the security guard was very helpful.<br/>We woke up to a beautiful view and beautiful property!! The property was well maintained by the friendly crew that was there early looking after all the details.<br/>The pool area was all around a fantastic area. The kids swam, the parents relaxed, and we visited with other guests. <br/>The BBQ area was a great place to meet people. It was well maintained and very clean. <br/>The location was close and convenient to grocery stores, shopping, the farmers market, restaurants. <br/>We had a minor issue with the sink/ garb orator that was taken care of immediately. (Garb orator needed to be reset) <br/>The one item that our unit needs attention to is cleanliness, but that didn't take away from our wonderful vacation at the beautiful Maui Sunset Property. We are still talking about how wonderful it is!! Thank you to all the staff that works there.

Maui Rental
I enjoyed the rental. The location was great! Here is a tip.... you need to buy detergent. They don't provide clean towels, you need to wash the towels yourself.

Aloha and thank you for the review. The condominiums do have a washer and dryer, we are working on providing some HE soap in the near future. The 2 bedrooms start with a set of 7 towels for the 2 full bathrooms, hopefully enought for the week without doing laundry. Sounds like you had a great trip.

Incorrect Advertisement
My first time going to Maui I was looking for a 2 room with queen beds in each room, which the website stated it had. However upon arrival the rooms had one FULL bed and another had 2 twin beds. When I contacted management, I was told they cannot help me. I also contacted Orbitz who stated they cannot help me. After going through all the people, not one person can assist. Both the location and Orbitz was lucky I did not cancel my stay. However, I would not recommend anyone to stay here or use Orbitz if they are looking for true description of the rooms.

Aloha, I was glad I could speak to you while you were in Maui. I did check both Orbitz and our website and it clearly states that the rooms have two twins in the second bedroom. The master has a queen bed as advertised. Usually I like to offer alternatives, even an upgrade to a premium condo, however the property was sold out. Although it wasn't possible to find a room with two queens this time, if you travel again I'd be happy to upgrade you to a premium suite that has the newly renovated kitchens, King bed in master, and option to make the 2nd bedroom twins into a King.

Beautiful Kihea property
We arrived late and were pleased to see the Security guard was there to help us find our key and give us directions.Well maintained property and pool area and beautiful surroundings.The only problem we had with our condo was the stove only had one working element and even though we reported it, it was not fixed.

Laid back fin
Basic condo rental but had everything we needed. Not a resort type experience but almost more enjoyable in a less busy super relaxed way. Great central location for touring the island

Nice grounds - Unit could use some work
The property is in a very convenient location and the grounds are beautiful. We have rented here 4 times. Only 1 of the 4 units were in great working order. The other 3 units were all in need of some repairs, some more extensive than others. The crucial things for us were the lack of lighting, the somewhat uncomfortable beds and the air conditioners and fans didn't work properly. I should say that everything worked but a lot of things didn't work very well. The internet pictures for each unit that we rented looked very good on the computer but the actual functioning of the unit and "living" in if for a week was, at times, frustrating. Other than being very dusty, the units are nice and clean. The staff is very friendly, the grounds are immaculate, the bbq's are great, the gym is well stocked and the parking is good but I will still look around before committing to this venue again.

Maui Sunset
The condo we had was a bit old, and the door was a hassle to get in and out of due to the tightness of it. We really has to shove the door open each time. <br/>The inside was nice, but really could use a bit more of the necessities.

Great Repeat Experience
We booked at Maui Sunset as the location is very close to our extended family. We again had a wonderful stay. The unit was clean and ready when we arrived. We had difficulty with one of the bathrooms but the maintenance staff came quickly and solved the issue. We were very satisfied with our stay

Good and Bad
Overall our view was gorgeous. A few other guest where nice and others not so nice. Staff was great in the office, pool and beach experience was challenging as my family experience some racism. I’m Latina my husband is African/American our 3kids are mixed and we felt other guest didn’t want us around them, as we got in the pool they’d leave, or they’d say things like the jacuzzi is too hot but the pool is just right. Also our 10 year old daughter asked us, her parents why people kept starring at her and us and that she felt uncomfortable. And yes those people were Caucasian and they were guest just like we were! Would I go back probably not as our days felt stressful when this happened. We felt as if we didn’t belong. I never experienced such thing before. Upon checkout the housekeeping lady was beyond rude with attitude. We paid around $1700 for our & days and by the 3rd day we wanted to leave but I had already paid upfront and in full!!!

The claims you've made are not usual here at the Sunset or on Maui. Maui is one of the most welcoming and open communities, I can only hope it was an isolated event from other guests that were also staying at the property. When the housekeeper went to clean the room on check out day they found it still occupied with food, clothes and more all over, they were delayed almost 2 hours with another guest waiting to check in. When we spoke on the check out day I wasn't aware of your experiences, now that I know we will investigate. Our general manager and the crew at the Maui Sunset are from all over the world and Maui is a welcome place for all.

I agree that the kitchen could use a kitchen re-fresh, and we've tried to price it accordingly. As a repeat guest we'll make sure you get a great deal on one of the "premium" suites for next time.
