Taos Powderhorn Stay We spent five nights at Powderhorn for our first visit to Taos Ski Valley. We had selected the property because it offered two rooms for four adults and was within walking distance of Lift 1. This offered easy access to skiing and the small “village” of Taos Ski Valley. The larger room offered a good size kitchen area with a table and chairs for the four of us. In general, the kitchen was well equipped and our stay was comfortable. We had an issue with the smoke detectors and Wi-Fi, which were quickly addressed. Though the heat in the unit became oppressive at times, opening the windows and slider to the balcony quickly reduced it to a comfortable level. Be advised that the ambient light at night from the many electronics, especially those connected to the “Nest”, were disruptive to sleep. The smoke detecting unit lit up brightly with small movements (i.e. rolling over in bed!). No need for a nightlight! KITCHEN & DINING

Stainless steel appliances and granite countertops outfit the kitchen in the first studio. Gather at the four-seat table and enjoy an intimate meal together.

The second studio has a convenient microwave/pizza oven, mini fridge, and a coffee maker. Brew a cup of joe and fuel up with a quick snack before hitting the slopes.

BEDROOMS & BATHS

This property has two separate studios that comfortably sleep four total. Two full bathrooms are each stocked with a complimentary starter supply of toiletries and bath amenities.

Stretch out on a comfy king bed in the first studio and watch a movie on the 32” TV with DVD player while enjoying the warm ambience of the gas log fireplace. The bathroom features a granite vanity and tub/shower combination.

Sleep soundly on a comfy bed in the second studio, which can be configured as a king or two twins. Stretch out on the bed or curl up in an armchair and watch shows on the flat screen TV. The newly renovated bathroom has a spacious vanity and a walk-in shower.

OUTDOOR AREA

Step out to a private balcony off the first studio and take in lovely views of Wheeler Peak.

This second-floor condo is accessed via one flight of stairs.
