Ocean View
Lovely home with an easy to find location. The enclosed patio was the key to a wonderful ocean experience! The only concern for rebooking was that the cleaning fee was high for our 4 person group. To make it worth while, it is better to fill the house.

60th Birthday!
First of all loved the house and the location, it worked so well for my birthday weekend. I could of stayed in the sunroom all 4 days watching the ocean. The kitchen was well stocked and appliances were clean which was nice. Now the not so good thing's; it takes a lot to over look the uncomfortable beds in the 2 larger bedrooms all they need is a memory foam topper and problem solved until then watch out for your hips and back to hurt after the first night. The internet was not good at all when it worked there was not enough bandwidth to get a good signal, just an fyi. There is a sign on the downstairs shower that says “use bugee cord to close the shower door” things like that should be fixed we paid enough nightly to not deal with a bugee cord to close a shower door Sign. DO NOT use the bar-b-que unless you see its been cleaned we tried it and had one heck of a grease fire, its a good thing there was baking soda in the cupboard. To end on a good note YES I would stay there again as I love the area and that incredible sunroom!!!

Beware of rental company
The rental is great. Awesome location, near Nye Beach but quiet.<br/><br/>The rental company was fine during our stay but was extremely difficult to work with when we tried to cancel more than 30 days before arrival. I spent more than 8 hours (to within 30 days of arrival) and then spoke with a Turnkey employee who was unapologetic for the ridiculous wait and refused to acknowledge my point that I had tried to cancel outside of the 30 day window.

Reasons for a hotel
Couldn't get into the property until late, beds were not comfortable in the slightest, had torn sheets with stains and some pillows didn't even have cases. Shower door broken and held shut by bungee cord and looked to be that way for awhile. Bedframe in third bedroom was broken with trash stuffed underneath. No extra trash bags for garbage. House was sauna hot upstairs and the use of the industrial fan and two box fans couldn't make it comfortable. Close to the beach but would sacrifice that for a place worth the money I paid.

Our week in August
This house was very,very clean. Lived up to our expectations. Does need some TLC if going to be rented. Upstairs bathroom vanity very slow to drain, down stairs shower would not shut off completely. Porch roof leaked when raining.

Planning a Return Stay
Joy's House was perfect for our week on the coast. The house is located on a quiet street close to our family and friends. Also enjoyed the Newport area for food, fishing and shopping. The house was clean and inviting when we arrived. Really appreciated the well appointed and organized kitchen, it made meal prep and clean up a breeze. We had fun exploring beach access paths, too.

The view!!!!
Our group really enjoyed this home. We made beautiful memories in the sun room taking in the glorious view. While we were there we enjoyed weather that turned the sea teal, and the sunsets were better than Hawaii! Some of the furnishings are dated, but for us that made the home more comfortable and put us at ease. The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen we have ever stayed at. However, the small bedroom and the master bedroom had very firm beds that we found uncomfortable, but the large bedroom with 2 queens and bunks had very comfortable beds! The home was spotless when we arrived, however the shelves and silk plants could use a thorough dusting... that being said, it didn't impede our enjoyment of the home. I would heartily recommend this home!

Great beach vacation!
What can I say? Everything was exactly as advertised. The home may be a bit older but exceptionally clean. All the appliances worked perfectly allowing us to cook our own food while there. Having rented previously and endured a bad experience I was a bit hesitant to try another. Thanks to Joys House I once again have confidence in the vacation rental process. Our family will definitely be returning to this home soon.

Toilet paper?
Any day at the coast is a good day at the coast. Especially a sunny weekend in October with old friends. One hiccup, second night we discovered at about 1:00am that the toilet paper rolls in each bathroom was it. No extra. Not sure if this was an oversight, or if we didn't read the part about brining your own. Big shout out to Thriftway for being open. Otherwise, it was going to be begging to buy from a role from hotel/motel!

It is not designed to be an unlimited supply but, rather, to get a typical reservation through a weekend or get folks started so that they can enjoy their arrival days, take inventory, and pick up whatever else is needed to get them through their trip as needed. Prior to each stay, we stock dish soap, laundry detergent, a roll of paper towels, toilet paper, a dish brush to wash dishes, a few trash bags, dishwasher detergent, bar soap, and the standard bathroom amenities you might find in a hotel. Lovely get-away!
My mom, sisters and I have enjoyed Joy's House for the past 5 years. The view & location near Nye Beach cannot be beat! We love so much about this house, and yet, there are a few things we would love to see updated. For example, the couches in the living room are very old and quite uncomfortable. They also do not seem very clean. The fake plants should be removed. Very dusty and a cause of lots of sneezing. The broken hinge on the trunk should be repaired. The flooring in the sunroom is warped and frankly presents a hazard. On the other hand, the beds are quite comfortable and we found everything we could need in the kitchen. The view is beyond words!

Third Bedroom is not connected to the rest of the house
View is amazing. We booked this house months in advance and did not notice that the 3rd bedroom is off the garage. Our kiddos did not want to sleep there so we basically had a 2 bedroom house. I would have booked another rental instead if the description had been more obvious.

all the comforts of home with an amazing view
There were 8 of us, children and adults. This house is spacious and well furnished. If anything could be improved on maybe have more flatware...seemed we were always washing forks. So there you go! Almost afraid to say too much positive because then I might not be able to rent it again. The owners have tried to think of everything you could need or want. great place!!

Beach trip with granddaughter & friends
The view was great and it was nice our granddaughter & her college friends had the bedroom downstairs . The furnishings were very worn and deco dated. The photos made it look better & much bigger. It was very clean with a well equipped kitchen. CAUTION- don’t lean on the deck railing. It’s ready to go! We stayed in nicer places for the $$$ Rock hard beds.

Great beach getaway!
This is a great home for small groups. We loved the sun room for morning coffee and the views are awesome. The house is very comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, there are tons of games and books, a fooseball table and even movies and a blue ray player for the kids. The bbq worked great once we found the extra propane tank in the garage. We really enjoyed our stay here. There are a few things that need updating or repaired but nothing that hampered our enjoyment of our stay (window downstairs doesn’t open, bathroom door downstairs is hard to close, shower door downstairs must be shut with a bungee cord, carpet upstairs is stained, etc). The beach access within walking distance is very steep so we weren’t able to use it with kids. Had to drive up to the Nye Beach access. I would have liked to have been able to walk to the beach, but the house is very centrally located and it doesn’t take long to get where you need to go. It was nice that there were camp chairs, a few beach towels, a few sand toys and blankets and other things to use during our stay. There was also a booster seat and a pack and play, along with a bed rail for the bunk beds. They really did a good job of making it convenient to stay at this house. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it a day!

PERFECT BEACH RETREAT
We just spent a relaxing 2 weeks in Newport Oregon at this comfortable and accommodating oceanfront home. With the rising and setting of the sun, we were mesmerized by the changing aspects of the ocean from the enclosed sunporch. With a good book and a cup of coffee or a glass of Oregon wine, life was good. The home was well equipped and safe in a quiet neighborhood and includes resident hummingbirds in the yard's Cape Fuschia bushes and the spouting whales in the water for additional entertainment. It's location just blocks above Nye Beach gave us good exercise and an excuse to visit Sorella's Restaurant several times to enjoy outstanding Italian food. Of course, we had to visit our favorite Local Ocean and Clearwater Restaurant in the historic Bayfront area of Newport for outstanding seafood. We also enjoyed visiting the Maritime Museum which portrays an informative display of the maritime history in the area. A new experience that was awesome: making a glass paperweight at the Oregon Coast Glassworks. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property in our favorite vacation spot.

Family Time At The Beach
Our stay at Joy's Place was a great experience. The home was very clean and comfortable. The view was great with beach access although it was a steep path. We would have appreciated knowing where to park since parking at the home was limited to one...maybe...two vehicles. Otherwise, nothing but praise for the home and the staff at TurnKey. :-)

A Wonderful Tradition
My mother, sister and I enjoyed our 5th visit to Joy's House this past week. We began this tradition in 2013 to celebrate my 50th -- now we go every November! The home is very cozy with the most spectacular view. We especially love watching sunsets from the sun room with glass of wine in hand. Whales often pass by too. It's truly our home away from home!

Perfect for us!
This home was exactly as described. It's in a perfect location. Close to lots of scenery, lots of places to eat, and views were wonderful of the lighthouse as well as whale springs! It was well stocked with everything needed, other than food and drinks! Very clean! I highly recommend for a peaceful getaway for two, or for a whole family!! My only complaint was the call from Turnkey the day before departure wanting to come fo an inspection that was already scheduled for that day...which my husband said no, to wait til we leave. Other than this, Turnkey was awesome!!!!

It's becoming a favorite getaway.
My family got together and all agreed that this place is comfortable, very well appointed (great kitchen to cook in-well stocked, high quality appliances), and suits our needs very well. <br/>There is one thing that we would like to see improved though. Grab bars are lacking in both baths, and 4 out of 5 of us are seniors, and very conscious of the risk of falls. <br/>We like this place very much, and intend to use it again. The addition of grab bars would make it ideal.

Great time!
Loved getting away with a few girlfriends! The best part about this place was the sun room! Totally awesome! Parking was challenging but we managed to make it work! They were able to give us a early check in and also a later checkout! Really appreciated that a lot! Carpets needed to be better maintained or replaced with something else!

Lovely sunroom on the ocean
The kitchen was well equipped with quality cooking/baking equipment. The rest of the house was very clean and well maintained. The best part of the house is the sunroom, with beautiful furniture and a great view. We come to Newport every year, so we took our usual long walks on the beach and elsewhere around town.

Clean and comfortable
We rented this home to stay in during our family vacation to the Oregon coast. This is the cleanest home we have rented. The kitchen and all appliances were spotless. The bathrooms were well-stocked and clean. The location of this home worked well; our teens could walk to the small shops in town, and the beach access was just a short walk along a path near the house. The sunroom was our favorite room; we spent many hours watching whales migrate offshore and birds in the trees & on the beach. We visited the lighthouses, museums, aquarium, restaurants, and several nearby beaches. This was a great family vacation with many amazing memories made!

Huge Disappointment NO BEACH ACCESS
First off, the positives! The view was incredible. The house was clean. The house is a great layout for families. However, we found out almost immediately that there is actually no beach access 1 block from the house as is advertised. It was closed to the public many months ago, and we were never informed. We were traveling with many small children and this was the main reason we chose this house! I called Turnkey immediately and was assured somebody would call me back quickly and resolve the issue. We waited, and waited. I called back the next day and got the same answer, but I insisted they investigate further since it had already been 24 hours and we still had no beach access and no resolution to our problem. When I dug a bit I became aware that their notes stated we had a problem with the conditions of the beach. Absurd. The real issue (I hope?) was then written down and Turnkey said they would send somebody out to investigate. I received a text message about 24 hours later saying the City closed the beach access (not true) and they were sorry for any inconvenience. So I called again, only to get the same runaround. Finally a 10% refund was offered at the very end of our trip. We spent our 5 days at the beach unable to access the beach (nearest access is over a 15 minute walk, not possible with small children with disabilities). We were so extremely disappointed by the way it was all handled. Horrible customer service and our issue was never resolved.
