This Old House! We enjoyed our stay at this old Spanish style home near the heart of downtown Palm Springs. Located in the historic Movie Colony district, this home is situated in a quiet, upscale neighborhood, but is walking distance to the many bars and restaurants of the downtown community. Like other old homes, this home needs lots of TLC. Luckily, we and our friends are very handy and were happy to make a few needed repairs to some doors and light fixtures. Great stay in Palm Springs Very interesting home and a relaxing place to stay for a few days.

Tamarisk We were told that somebody would meet us at the home within 24 hours of check in. We waited around the house for 2 days and no one ever showed or called. Pool house restroom had raw sewage coming up out of the shower. Was recommended by plumber that no one stay in there until it was cleaned and sanitized. No one from turnkey called to see if everything was okay after plumber left.<br/> House is nice. Gorgeous Family Rental We had a great time in this house, close to downtown walking distance. Our family all got together and enjoyed the pool & yard. Would recommend updating the BBQ took forever to cook on it.

A fine, quiet retreat in central Palm Springs... We just returned from a week at 367 Tamarisk in Palm Springs. There were 6 of us total though not all at one time. Overall we had a fine time, and happy, contented renters who got along well! So let me list the factors, both negative and positive, to help those considering the property. It's a 3 BDR house + a loft BDR + a pool house with a BDR, on about 0.7 private acres and a an older home:<br/>Positive<br/>--------<br/>1. good location on slow quiet street<br/>2. lovely clean, warm pool;<br/>3. lots of private areas for conversation and reading;<br/>4. dog-friendly with walled in, safe yard space;<br/>5. either central A/C or a wall unit kept the temperature pleasant;<br/>6. comfortably furnished throughout.<br/>Negative<br/>---------<br/>1. quite difficult egress from driveway due to walls;<br/>2. kitchen lacked adequate cutlery, utensils, cabinets, glasses, etc. Just quite inadequately supplied;<br/>3. Schlage locks - especially on the casita - are totally frustrating! I spent the first 2.5 hours trying to get them to work or keys to fit, etc. They all need to be replaced with something simple and reliable!<br/>4. the whole renter process is automated so they can save as much money as possible, but the failure to have anyone meet you there and in 30-60 minutes explain everything, is quite frustrating and detracts from the whole experience;<br/>5. the home is valued by Zilliow at about $1.8 millions but it really needs someone tom buy it, then put another $500,000 or so into upgrading it. The house is simply long-used and tired. Likely the electrical and plumbing systems need major upgrading. We rented it for a bit over $6,000 for a week, which is roughly fair value. Nice stay in classic Palm Springs home Lovely classic home in Palm springs. Huge space with lots of quiet for people to do their own thing, and a large kitchen and dining room to gather. The pool was great - nice and warm, plus a renovated self-contained pool house with bed and bath. The location couldn't be better, walking distance to the high street and bars and restaurants.<br/><br/>I would give 5 stars, except: <br/>- Some of the furniture was pretty beat up (one of the couches collapsed when I was sitting on it, <br/>- The pool deck plaster coating was peeling pretty significantly<br/>- It was lacking some simple expected items like a BBQ brush, plastic cups and plates for the pool area, and a remote to get into the external gate (rather than having to get out of your car to punch in the code).<br/><br/>Overall, if you're looking for a decent place with tons of space, a big pool, a great location, and a very classic feel in Palm Springs, this is it. Movie Colony Gem We had a great time staying here. The home is unique and full of character. The location is tremendous as we were able to walk to so many places to eat and shop. The grounds are beautiful and present a great place to relax. The homes is in good condition with really our only complaint being the furnishings could use updating as could the linens but all in all would stay there again. Truly Amazing Palm Springs Vacation Home! This home has it all. Great pool, alot of space, I mean ALOT! The bedrooms are very large, and the home is truly beautiful in every sense of the word. And it is located right in downtown Palm Springs, a block from all of the attractions.
