This is the 3rd time we have been to Puerto Vallarta. We have previously stayed in the marina area. While we loved the location and the beach much better at this condo, some things were not exactly as described. The condo itself was great with awesome beach views. The only downfall of the condo itself is the frosted glass partitions between your balcony and your neighbor offers minimal privacy as you can clearly hear the neighbor next to us. We also had a smoker in the owner's condo right next to ours and the smoke came right over to us.

We weren't told until the day of our arrival by the property manager that Sunday is her day off so someone else would be meeting us at the condo. When we arrived, the person she sent did not speak English so that was not very helpful! Upon arrival, you are required to put a $500 peso deposit down for each access card you are wanting to get into the gated area or the condo area itself. While the security is great, it was slightly annoying to have $500-$1000 pesos leftover on the day you are returning home.

We were quite disappointed by the pool as we were not told they were still doing repairs on the pool. One of the owners told us the pool was completed but then at least 1 month prior to our arrival, owners were notified areas of the pool had to be redone. Because of that, the pool was no more than 3 1/2' deep everywhere. While it is a large pool and looks out over the ocean, it's not a true infinity pool, and they kept the pool 9-10" below the filled capacity to work on repairs. We also learned after we got there that there has never been a hot tub except for the indoor hot tub in tower 1 which is exclusive to tower 1 guests only. One owner told us that each of the 3 towers have separate homeowners' associations and they can't agree on who is paying for what to put the plumbing in for hot tubs. There is also minimal food service at the pool during the non peak times, which was not shared with us. While we were there, there was food service available Sun, Thurs and Fri only. The food was ok.

The mall located right in front of the peninsula towers is fairly vacant. Other than a Starbucks and a couple of banks, there wasn't much there. Having the ATM's at the bank and being 4-5 blocks away from Soriano grocery store was very handy, not to mention being within walking distance to the Food Park that had a variety of food trucks with really awesome food was quite handy.

We also found out there was some kind of cable company dispute going on and so we did not have any tv while we were there. While we really don't watch much tv when we have the beautiful view of the ocean right in front of us, we found out from one of the owners, a notice had been sent out to the owners several weeks earlier and no mention of this was made to us. In fact, when we asked how to work the tv's, we were asked whether it was the tv we couldn't get turned on our if it was the cable we couldn't figure out!!!

The only other issue we had while we were there was there was an incidental leak under the kitchen sink that we cleaned all up and put a container under to catch the water. The property manager, Lilly, asked us to be there in the morning to let the plumber in. When we told her the plumber never showed up and we didn't want to be sitting inside the condo all day on our last day--the A/C in the bedrooms also went out the last 3 nights we were there and the repairman was coming for the A/C as well-Lilly offered to come up to the condo. Lilly never did show up and left a message that the repairman were very trustworthy and would be accessing the condo themselves. The A/C never was able to be fixed and it got as warm as 29 degrees Celsius in the bedrooms! We were never compensated for any of the issues, instead, Blair, the owner, offered us 15% off if of our next stay.

Overall, the condo was very nice, the location and views were awesome, we just felt a little deceived about the issues going on with Peninsula Towers.

It really was the PERFECT condo. It is very comfortable, clean, and well kept!!! The PenĂ­nsula location is the best... Shopping and dining are all within walking distance and downtown is only minutes away. My family loved it!!! We look forward to staying there again!!!
