The Marina is just a few minutes walking and has a breathtaking ocean view. There you can find the Santa Catarina fortress, and a small bay to swim, nice restaurants and the well known oceanic pool with salt water "NoSoloÁgua", where some events also take place. The Marina has a panoramic view to "Ferragudo" castle and beaches as well, offering the possibility of exploring all the area by boat. We found several ways to enter depending on whether we wanted to walk by the river, the sea, the Old Fort or just go straight to the heart of the action-every route was 10-15 minutes. The harbor and the beach were both close and easily accessible, not more than 10-15 minutes walk. The house itself is spacious, nicely appointed, stylish and artistic with everything you need. Unfortunately, not wheel chair friendly as there are a few steps in the foyer area to access the lifts. Armacao de Pera has a fantastic stretch of soft sandy beach which you can stroll along for approximately five kilometers or find a spot and rent a sun bed and shade. There is a daily fish and vegetable market, supermarkets, bakeries and also banks, ATMs and a Post Office. For transport there are Taxis and local buses. Water sports, pedalos and boat trips to spot Dolphins and visit the caves can be booked. There are plenty of other places to visit with children Take a trip to the Tourist Information office (located along the pedestrian promenade) where they can advise you of other activities going on in the town and local area, to be honest there is quite a programme of events during the high season, and even out of season there will be something. Golfers have a plenty of choice in the area and we particularly recommend the O’Connor & Faldo course at Amendoiera which is only 10 mins away. Salagados, Silves, Pinta and Gramacho are also nearby and Penina is 20 mins further west.

After one week, there is a cleaning service and towels and bed linen are changed. It is only about a five-minute walk to the exquisite sandy beach at Vale de Centeanes. Elongated stone stairs lead down to the beach, which is also serviced. Within 100 metres you can find restaurants, supermarkets and bakeries.
