Gatlinburg Winter Magic
(November through February):
The City of Gatlinburg magically lights up the winter nights with millions of spectacular lights and lighted displays. Featuring one-of-a-kind LED lighting displays along Gatlinburg’s famous Downtown Parkway, adjacent River Road, and the triangle juncture of the two, custom designed and fabricated lighting displays are marked by sections with reminiscent of winter forests, evergreens and romance. It also features animals indigenous to Great Smoky Mountains National Park including deer, foxes, squirrels and rabbits.
Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show
(December 31): At the stroke of midnight, fireworks will blast off the rooftop of the 400-foot tall Space Needle with special music choreographed for the fireworks show produced by Pyro-Shows of LaFollette, Tennessee. The Space Needle has added rhythmic LED lights to the tower, making for a spectacular display. The entire city of Gatlinburg celebrates New Year’s Eve in a big way with many restaurants and businesses offering celebration specials.
Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales
(April through May): Tunes & Tales is a street performance event throughout downtown Gatlinburg featuring musical performers, cloggers, storytellers and artisans giving you a taste of Appalachian culture. The collection of personalities and entertainers perform in the center of town from 5:00-10:00 pm during the spring weekends and 6:00-11:00 pm during the summer nightly season. Single acts, Duos, Trios and 4 piece groups will provide music spring weekends and seven nights a week for the duration of the summer. The mountain style of music is featured from the beginnings of the pure Appalachian sounds to traditional bluegrass, folk, country and Gospel music and more!
Annual Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament
(April): Open to adults or children – and equally challenging for both visitors and locals, with multiple categories to be contested in this largest trout tournament in the Smokies.
Wine, Dine And Art Crawl
Explore the historic Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community on a private tour of participating galleries, restaurants and wineries. Meet the artists while sampling local wines and enjoying hors d'oeuvres from local restaurants. This event is for those 21 years of age and older.
Gatlinburg Smoky Mountain Wine Fest
Wineries for the event will be coming from all over Tennessee! Visitors age 21 and older will purchase a ticket to the festival for $20 and receive a wristband for sampling and a branded wine glass. The wineries will provide wine samples of 1 oz at a time to everyone with a wristband. Guests will be able to purchase bottles of Tennessee wine to take home.
