    Nestled beneath the craggy cliffs of a ancient fossil reef, are the villages and hamlets of the Cariatiz. The cottage is part of the farmhouse which has been beautifully restored and is situated in the tiny, sleepy hamlet that is Los Josefos. Discover too the smells of lavender & thyme as you walk amongst the mountain herbs & flowers, particularly Jan - May. The house is actually situated on a long marked circular walk. Note: Most walks are un signposted so a good compass and map reading skills are useful. However if required we can arrange guided walks for groups. The area surrounding is fabulous cycling country for the enthusiast ! There are miles of quiet roads crossing open countryside with gorgeous views of the heath land, mountains, almond, olive, orange and lemon groves. Its often hard going so strictly for the fit and adventurous. The mountain biker too has many hill and mountain tracks to choose from. The Enormous Sorbas cave system is nearby. There are guided tours of the caves from easy going for beginners to more advanced for those with experience. Equipment can be provided by the centre. Granada and The Alhambra Palace is a must to visit at only 2 hours distance by motorway. For film enthusiasts there is Mini Hollywood Film Studio, Oasis Reserva Zoologica, Fort Bravo Cinema Studios and Western Lodge.     Our completely modernized farmhouse is situated on a mountain-top overlooking the beautiful wide valley of the Conca de Barbera in the northern limits of the province of Tarragona, where we offer you a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. In your lounge in your separate apartment you'll find a scrap-book, full of information on places to see and visit, a short car ride away, apart from a walk up to the top part of the village for the views and to visit the 1000-year-old Romanic church and wander round the old village, or taking a walk in the local countryside to visit the ancient spring or to pick aromatic plants, there many interesting visits to be made locally. Our place is in the lower part of the village, which avoids being shrouded in clouds as is the top part when it's cloudy, but just as cool in summer, when down on the coast they sweat in clammy heat, we sleep in cool freshness, and is at more or less the same altitude as several local places that can be cycled to (we have bikes we can hire you very cheaply) along the tracks improved by the windmill installers. The windmills provide great wondering for younger visitors, and although initially their presence scared off most of our local eagle population, recently we have been noticing the return of soaring great birds of prey in the skies over the wide valley of the Conca. We are lucky to have brand-new 5-star thermal spring establishment of Rocallaura, extremely well-equipped and guaranteed to make you feel a new person in two hours. We have multi-ticket entries which reduce the price from 23 to 15€‚ all-in. We have also installed a steam sauna therapy shower cabin on the ground floor next to the yoga room; you feel 10 times better than taking a shower afterwards. Cost 3€ per session. With the village strategically situated on the Route of the Cisters, and the public rambling route Gr Saint James' Track passing in front of the house, giving easy access to the 3 famous historic monasteries, Santes Creus, historically fascinating, Vallbona de les Monges, quaint and still functionning, and Poblet, beautiful and much-appreciated. The local capital, Reus, is famous as Gaudi's birthplace, with an interesting 5-floor visitor centre and a walking route through the town visiting the 28 outstanding Noucentista houses. Near Poblet monastery are the renowned caves of Espluga de Francolí, with lit-up underground river. Many of our visitors come to tour the beautiful Noucentista wine bodegas, the best-known being the Cathedral of the Wines at Nulles near Valls, itself the centre the Catalán "Castellers"(human Castles) festivities during the spring/summer. The famous sacred and beautiful mountain of Montserrat, is half-way to Barcelona, 115kms away, down the A2 freeway. Tarragona, with its Roman ruins and amphitheatre, and the kindest beaches in Catalunya, is also a most popular day trip for those who have stayed with us.

    The villa is located in the mountains on an off-track road, 2 minutes drive from the main road. This is real rural Spain where you have friendly Spanish neighbours. There is a secure gated property with a sloped driveway and steps leading to the main property. (The garage is kept locked at all times). Outside is a bbq area with utensils provided, deck chairs and a little bistro table to the side as well as a hammock. There are plenty of areas to unwind and chill including a sun terrace by the pool that gets the sun all day long. There is an outside dining table with 6 chairs shaded under the pine tree. Upstairs is a large balcony with chairs to relax with a sunscreen. The sun beams here all day long and can get a little hot. Beautiful views of the village in the distance. The house itself doesn't have any aircon but because the villa is positioned higher up, it does get a lovely breeze blowing through the home. We rented it for the first time last summer and didn't have any complaints. Pets are very welcome, we love dogs but please respect our home. There is a large part of the garden dogs can go on to the side of the villa (you'll notice we have bonfires here)! Bedsheets and towels are provided as well as a fully equipped kitchen including a microwave. We run our home on solar and lived there for 5 months in the winter with no problems. We have a more than an efficient system but please just think green when you are here. You'll get a full phone signal and fast broadband here. There are 3 rubbish bin locations on the urbanisation to please clear up after yoursleves. There are so many places to explore here and we truly hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

The beach of El Campello is at 12 minutes by car. If you are a fan of hikes, snepling, you like to cycle or just want to relax surrounded by a beautiful scenery, the place is ideal for you. It is better to come by car, you have plenty of space to park at our place but there is also a bus in the village (15-20 minutes walk) that goes to El Campello (seaside) or Mutxamel. There are bus and taxi in front of the complex, but everything is a few meters, walking would be the best option to spend some happy days in Tenerife. Quiet and very central at once.

The apartment was exactly as advertised, and the pool table and Wii sports provided us and our two boys great family recreation time in between all the cultural and culinary sightseeing of Madrid. Most importantly, our host was an extraordinarily helpful "concierge", offering spot-on advice on places to eat and see, and even helping us to get a taxi to take us to the train station on our last day, when a transit strike was otherwise threatening to make it hard to get where we needed to. I honestly cannot speak highly enough about our host's unfailing good humor and great advice. The location of the apartment is a bit out of the way--a half-hour or so by subway from most of the places we wanted to visit in Madrid--but even that became a surprising benefit, as it forced us to get to know the subway system, and thus to really feel like locals. Calgar After having a wonderful stay at our host's Barcelona apartment, we moved to Madrid to stay in his Madrid apartment as well. Madrid is a beautiful city and this apartment is definitely a very good choice for a relaxing vacation in Madrid. It is quite huge with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a big kitchen with every necessary utensil and a very spacious beautiful terrace. We enjoyed a lot having our breakfasts at the open-view terrace. The apartment is nicely designed with quality furniture, and the bed was quite comfy as well. Though the apartment is not located within the city center, there are two metro stations very close by the apartment, around 2 to 3 minutes on foot. These stations are on major lines that connects you to the various stations in the city center in 20 minutes at most. Or you may opt to walk as once we did and it takes around 40 minutes. Getting to the apartment from the airport is again quite easy using the metro. There are 2 supermarkets that are within 200 meters range and there are some restaurants and bars as well. Checking in and out went quite smooth for us. Our host greeted us himself upon our arrival, and gave us information about the city and the surroundings of the apartment, along with a map and a tourist guide-book. On the check-out day, our plane was taking off a little bit late, but although he had other guests coming in the same day, Roberto arranged for us to leave our luggages in until 3pm. He is a very friendly and caring host and he was always available for any question through phone or SMS. All in all, we enjoyed our stay in Madrid a lot and I could sincerely recommend this host and his beautiful apartment in Madrid. Damali My friends and I have a wonderful stay in this unit.
